A police chase didn't end so well for the driver of a Dodge Charger last week. Pearl police noticed the car didn't have a license plate on Pearson Road and tried to pull it over. The Charger took off, got on I-20 East, and sped over 100 mph. Pearl police chased but gave up. The suspect got off at the Crossgates exit and managed to flip his car. Police charged him with felony fleeing, reckless driving, and having no license plate. A witness managed to videotape the arrest. The video is posted below.
Pearl issued the following statement:
Around 8 p.m. last Tuesday night, a Pearl Officer tried to pull over a Red Dodge Charger with no tag driving recklessly on Pearson Rd. near Old Brandon Rd.
The car did not stop and sped down Pearson onto I-20 east. Two officers pursued. Speeds reached in excess of 100 mph. Pearl officers ended the pursuit near the Crossgates exit due to the dangerous speed and notified Brandon PD.
A short time later that vehicle wrecked in a ditch on Highway 80 westbound in Brandon in front of a shopping center (where Cups is located).
The driver and two passengers of the Charger got out of the car and were detained by Brandon officers. Pearl police were notified. The two passengers were not injured. The driver, 25 year old, Billy Chico Cook Jr. of Morton, requested to be taken to the hospital to be checked out at UMMC in Jackson. Cook is charged with reckless driving, no tag, felony fleeing and being a felon in possession of a firearm that was found in the vehicle.

1. Don't eat Taco Bell.
2. Hold your phone at a 90 degree or "landscape" angle.
The big cop was in a hurry to pull the guy out....until he stepped in the mud. Not going through the mud man.
Its so awesome to hear black and white getting along and having conversation in the background. I do think there is hope.
Ignorance is a terrible disease-
Rule 1 - Never flee. It rarely ends well.
Rule 2 - See rule 1.
Based on the audio I assume Taco Bell sponsored the video.
How does a Dodge Charger without one, out run a Dodge Charger with a police package engine? Asking from friends who are car shopping.
QUOTE OF THE VIDEO: "I don't even see this in Jackson!"
law enforcement from the 3 county area need to get reckless driving under control before an innocent person gets hurt
"Momma They pulled Guns on them."
What the Hell do expect police to do? Take em to Taco Bell?
Couldn’t listen to more than 30 seconds of those women flapping their country stupid ass gums. Jesus.
The idiots videoing and talking in the background would be the first to sue the police, city, state, etc. if there was gunfire out of necessity and they were accidentally hit. Can you spell STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!
“DRIVER! DROP THE CHALUPA!”
@10:40, the most common police package on a Charger is a high tuned V6, fast, but no match for a civilian V8.
@10:40, it isnt the 1970s. The civilian charger likely has a performance V8 while the police charger is just a base fleet V6 like a rental car. The conventional wisdom is that you can't outrun the police radio.
Charger police package options 3.6L V6, 5.7L Hemi V8
You can guarantee in Rankin County, we got the Hemi V8 package.
The police package is a V8Hemi 5.7 you dummies. Unless it's Flora or Kosciusko PD, they do not buy the V6. They only get the worn out models anyway, purchasing them for nothing or receiving them as gifts.
MOST departments buy the V6 because it’s cheaper, will perform to the commonly needed standards and the motor lasts longer than the 5.7 under the usual stop and go conditions patrol units perform under. That said, I’m assuming the runner was a “Jacksonian” meaning it’s was a V6 (because they ALL get the V6 and think it’s a “Hail-Cat” )and he just got the jump on the po-leese and got off the line quicker. I say “Jacksonian” because he wrecked it AFTER the chase broke off.
Pearl PD has the V6 Charger. They definitely don't have that V8 exhaust note.
11:15. You do realize that 75% or more of people in the south, and probably 90% or more of people in Mississippi, specifically, speak like that?
It was a 2020 dodge charger scatpack
