And All I Got Was This Crummy Little T-Shirt

Pretty clever, Jackson Academy, pretty clever.... and funny.

Can't wait to get mine.

This is worse than the TicTok videos that bored nurses were making in their empty ICUs while people were losing their jobs during the scamdemic.

Anonymous said...

It would have been really neat if Prep came back with "2020 was a loss of a year. Anything can happen right Jackson Academy?"

Anonymous said...

The local poors won't get the joke.

Anonymous said...

One thing you can always count on from that group: “tackiness”

Anonymous said...

cue parents raising hell, screaming "that's not funny or appropriate!!!" in 3... 2... 1....

Wow! First win against Prep since 2011 and this is how they show their class....I don't remember Prep putting out apparel touting their 8 year dominance of JA. Design a cute sweatshirt after you win 8 in a row...

Anonymous said...

Reckon I'm a 'local poor'...

Anonymous said...

You don't celebrate a semi-final win with tee shirts. But I suppose it will mark the final win of the season so might as well make tee shirts because Saturday's game against MRA will be a massacre.

Anonymous said...

We must shutdown any humor or enjoyment of life. This is COVID and everyone must be serious and scared at all times!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Tee shirts are for championships. The logic behind those shirts is the same thinking that led Ole Miss to hoist an SEC West Championship banner in Vaught Hemmingway after Eli's senior year.

Anonymous said...

Leadership once again prevails at JA! Hail to Kling and Milne !

5R5P said...

Is there a deeper story here or is this just celebrating an non championship off season win in the year of the Covids?

@5:47
Some people are just worth more than others. They are better.

JA’s slogan: “we may not win many games (especially against Prep) but we’ve never lost the pettiness party.”

Anonymous said...

I'm more Eastover than you

Anonymous said...

At least we all know now who “donates” to this blog. The JA Blue & White Club and all the local lobbyist/consultants whose kids go to JA.

Anonymous said...

Grown ass men fighting about a high school sports tee. So sad....

Anonymous said...

The t-shirt is just the JA kids having fun at Prep’s expense. Look at some of the signs in the Prep stands, and you will see the same thing the other direction. For those who don’t know the background, Prep’s school was VIRTUAL the week of the game until game day. Then, they had one day of in-person classes so that the team was eligible to play JA! Many Prep students and players had the virus, but no players were tested. Don’t ask, don’t tell was in full effect. JA kids knew who was sick (including some Eastover kids), but they just made fun of them, instead of being “petty” as one poster described them. JA students wore hazmat suits to the game. After the game, Prep moms rushed to Facebook to make the “half our team had COVID” excuse (even though all the starters played), without even realizing that bragging about spreading the virus wasn’t the best look.

Anonymous said...

JA is and always has been the "cream of the crop". Prep gets the wanna be Niknar kids, and the handful of doctors chillun, but everybody knows, the real money and cool on steroids is JA. The girls are even prettier and the Pacers can't hold the Accents jock straps ('scuse me I couldn't resist). Screw football...look ate the total picture. Not even close.

Anonymous said...

Wow! The Prep crowd on this site is pretty touchy. Explains where the Ole Miss crowd comes from.

Kingfish said...

I think its hilarious.

Hey everybody...

Lighten up, Francis.

What’s the line on the MRA/JA game? MRA by 21? Pretty sad the only “trophy” JA will hold this year is a cheap ass tee shirt. Enjoy them Raiders, just be sure to turn them inside out before washing as they will last longer that way.

Anonymous said...

Your comment just isn’t accurate. Prep was virtual/hybrid for grades 10-12 the entire week...even on game day. There were 15 football players out and 2 coaches out...all of them tested. Also, two members of the starting line up were out because of covid restrictions. Not because they tested positive...they tested negative but were quarantined but had positive family members so they couldn’t play. A sign in the stands or students dressing up in hazmat suits to have a little fun on game night is to be expected and is all in good fun. I think the comments on here say enough about the T-shirts and the general feeling about them. I would be embarrassed as a JA parent, teacher, administrator.

Anonymous said...

Wow, Prep looses a game to JA and they can’t get over it. Get a life, your school is so petty. Both schools are amazing and have great kids at both. This year, I do believe Prep’s seniors are not the norm that comes from Jackson Prep and it has shown in more ways than this.
Show class and loose with class. JA sure did not act like this when they have lost. Congratulate and move on, stop making excuses. All your starters were there.

Anonymous said...

Does either school accept Bitcoin for tuition? Both schools are within the Generation that will fail society. Sometimes, an individual’s character holds more weight than their intellect. A return on investment, for this generation of education at either school, is subpar. The t-shirt is definitely comical, but more could be sold if it benefitted both schools. One of the moms must’ve borrowed a Cricket Vinyl Printer and tried to be creative, but didn’t put much thought into it.

Anonymous said...

Seems pretty clear that JA can’t act like they’ve ever been there before because they haven’t ever been there....at least in recent memory of the last 8-10 years. So Raider Boys, enjoy those tee-shirts you earned the best you can. Because that’s all you have to hold on to after MRA gets a hold of your raider team. Your great season has been embarrassed by actions of your football mommies. They are making y’all the laughing stock of MAIS especially with all the mommy hugging other moms while crying all over Facebook. Typical JA. Never change. Class is mostly absent at most ja events. Quoting from a friend. ...

Anonymous said...

I'm with KF on this one. I don't have a dog in this fight but the shirt is clever. Everyone needs to lighten up.

Anonymous said...

Looking at Clarion Ledger photographs from this game, previous JA and JPrep football games this season, and other "NEJackson's finest" sporting events, I see no masks being worn by their students and fans. However, it is not difficult to find each of these schools touting their cadre of abundant-physician-parent developed safety protocols, or crowing about the welfare of their students, etc, etc, etc.
I guess young footballers with names like "Worthington III", "Perk Perkins", and "John Mills" being chantingly deified by young blond cheerleaders like "Muffy Grace", "Mary Pippy" and "Sarah ______(insert great grandmothers maiden name here)_____" are too 39211 to get the commoners covid!
And now we have a battle royale over a tshirt that basically boils down to a fight over "I'm more arrogant than you are" - I can't take anymore 2020!

Ole Miss or State will keep a coach and keep paying him millions if he only wins three games but one of them is the Egg Bowl. So get a life, you bunch of hypocrites.

The students reading this crap are like:

Muffy Grace: "Can you believe these old people on Facebook and blogs?"

Pinion Poindexter, III: "No! Like, wow! I bet that was your dad!"

Jock Struttworth: "Man, like my Mom is on that blog like forever some days."

Lorie-Ann Stratberg-Pointclear: "My dad reads that stuff all day long while he's at work.

Clair-Jane Hightower: "The coaches are in the Headmaster's office right now, posting away."

Anonymous said...

As a doctor that has kids at JA, I find this to be not just in poor taste but a violation of JA’s own handbook. To make light of the nearly 3600 deaths in Mississippi as well as gloat over a stupid rivalry in a way that makes the rest of the state think that somehow none of us care about the pandemic and it’s consequences makes me sick. Having lost patients to the pandemic and seen the long lasting debilitating effects on some of the survivors I think this travesty should be removed and the school should issue a public apology. Shame on you all.

Anonymous said...

6:57. Prep, JA, hell public school, that is funny.

Anonymous said...

Monte, if you even have a job, don't quit it.

This is awesome!! Just watching a bunch of rich people bitch at each other!!
The real question is has anyone told the Hartfield crowd they're not in the same league as MRA, JA, and Prep?

Anonymous said...

I don’t have a dog in the fight but Jackson Prep looks like sore losers on this one. Lighten up
It’s a t shirt and it shows you guys can’t take a loss to your rivalry. Congratulations JA
Best wishes Saturday. Prep parents need to get a life if this has upset them.

The comments on this post are dripping with jealousy. The agony one must feel from the feelings of inadequacy. So, I must mock and demean that, which for some reason, I envy. I pity some people.

High school groups have been making t-shirts that poke fun at their opponents for what seems to be forever. So if they instead made a demolition derby type joke on a shirt, would that be offensive to everyone who got into a wreck or knew someone who died in a wreck? War has killed millions and millions of people throughout history. Should they not use a slogan that has the word "war" in it?

Actually, Americans have a long history of making fun of bad situations. It's how we deal with it. We take what fate gives us and turn it into a joke. Take the song Yankee Doodle Dandy. I bet you don't know how the song came to be. Allow me to enlighten you. The tune was originally sung by British soldiers, you know, the Redcoats, Brits, the heroes of the clowns over at Vox.

The British created the original tune and sang it to make fun of us during the Revolutionary War. Of course, us being Americans, and even though we were getting our ass kicked for awhile, we took the song, turned it around, and made Yankee Doodle Dandy out of it. Sang it proudly and made it an unofficial anthem.

It's a proud song and I stand by that and all things American. This is a great country and it's worth saving. If defending America is "shame", so be it. We're not going to sit here and let you bad-mouth the United States of America. Amen

I never look at this page but someone said there are some bitter Prep folks posting about a t-shirt that kids are selling for a fundraiser. Really?? You are making fun of pictures posted of moms crying happy tears? I can't even process why anyone would act like this. Be happy for these boys. They worked hard for this and stop making excuses for your loss. Please work on bringing people up and not down. I promise you it will make you feel good about yourself and you will be a happier person.

@9:26 Let that new money trash start beating the old money other three and the MAIS will put them on probation for recruitin' violations so fast their heads will spin. And the violation will simply be out paying the other three for talent.

BTW, I still remember with MRA was looked down upon like they were the red-headed step child of the other two.

Anonymous said...

It is apparent that the sense of humor of most Americans has been replaced with hate and vitriol. People should really lighten up.

Anonymous said...

Ha its all in good fun, got to love a rivalry! I remember around 1997 Prep was the hands-down favorite to win it all. Like Ivan Drago in Rocky IV...they were so sure to win, their parents purchased celebratory bricks with each players name on it to be placed forever in the plaza area outside the stadium, memorializing their athletic prowess. It was athletes versus smart kids and the smart kids had zero chance. Except that somehow, some way, just like Rocky Balboa, JA beat Prep that year (and the year before or after)...Prep parents were strangely more upset than the players were. Things don't change much over the years! Wonder what ever happened to those bricks?

Anonymous said...

Having gone to a Seg Academy and then competed nationally, I just shake my head at the fantasy of this being "smart kids" vs "athletes." In the bottom ranked state. It's more like Dumb and Dumber. Puhleeze.

Don't mistake leasing a Range Rover for purchasing class and intellect.

Wasn't Prep and JA actively trying to recruit JPS college bound talent who though they may not have a season when the Covid crisis hit? Even paying scholarships. Seems I remember lots of talk about that. Kids they would look down their noses at were being recruited to play Private School football because they may not have a season. Talk about anything to win syndrome. Most private school "athletes" couldn't make the Bandit squads at most MHSAA public schools. I remember a kid when I played that couldn't make the practice squad at a local public high school. He got his feelings hurt and left and turned out he was the star qb at Prep. Now he sings kumbaya at The Red Bar.

Anonymous said...

As a senior at one of these two schools... I must say, you parents are fucking pathetic. It’s high school football, no one will care about this in a year except you high school hero parents.. Delete Facebook, quit living for Eastover gossip, and grow up.

Glad JA got themselves a complementary jizz rag from winning a playoff game! y’all finally got enough recruits to get it done after nearly 10 years of getting mopped the floor with by prep! enjoy the win ladies and gentlemen because i’ll be sitting on my couch piss drunk with a jim gimlet watching all these ja parents be shit faced when MRA beats y’all’s ass up and down the field! learn to cope. If I was in the position of you parents I wouldn’t be concerned with a high school football game, don’t half of y’all got a failing marriage to fix? Also I’m willing to bet that most people commenting were saying the pandemic was “fake news” months ago, so why y’all care now? get a job, I know your husband is a doctor but that aforementioned divorce is soon to come.

I don’t have a kid at any of these private schools but mine know them and they have seen what sore losers Prep has been. It’s all over social media where everyone can read their comments. As you can see, the parents are on here doing the same. Prep kids are posting they are all going to the game and cheering against JA. Why? Because they are jealous they beat them and can’t handle it. Worse case scenario for JA.... they lose and guess what? They got to play in the Championship Game and Prep didn’t. Prep can’t stand the thought of that. There is nothing Prep can do about it but make pitiful excuses as to why JA beat them and be miserable people forever. Do yourselves a favor. Get off social media and maybe Prep will have a fighting chance to appear they have kids with decent boys character going to school there.

Anonymous said...

This is amusing. I went to Prep in the 70s and my kids graduated from Prep too. We have never been amped up by anything JA did or didn’t do, although there may be a couple of folks out there who are the exception and say or post silly things. Most of us enjoyed the game, hated that JA came back late and won, but were proud of the Pats’ effort. Prep will continue its tradition of excellence in academics (superior) and sports (we always overachieve), and we are happy this year to share that athletic distinction with a competitive group of JA kids who ended our season but made their season exceptional by beating us. Congrats JA. As for MRA, looks like they have out-recruited us both. They look like a college team and will likely win it all. Congrats to them too. Prep will always be the best (IMHO) but I understand JA and MRA feel the same about their schools. High school football is the best. “Cheer, cheer for Patriots so true, wearing our colors red and blue...!

Anonymous said...

I agree. The posts about some wolf Prep stole from JA and did vulgar things to almost made me sick. I told my son to unfollow that mess. Supposedly they gave it to MRA but their headmaster had enough class to throw it away.

Anonymous said...

Prep is not what it used to be but seem to always have a very high opinion of themselves. That’s their biggest problem. Just read the post above. It basically confirms what everyone says about them.

Anonymous said...

That Prep woman said it. We have it in writing that one really does think they are “superior”. Everyone makes fun of them because they think that!!!!

I would think that all of you making childish comments have graduated. Too bad you never grew up.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
