MC Carjacking Suspect Denied Bond
Clinton mayor Phil Fisher praised the efforts of the Clinton Police and U.S. Marshals Service in extraditing Bankhead back to Mississippi to stand trial. “Let this extradition show that the Clinton Police Department will go far and wide to return criminals to face justice. Through the diligence of the Clinton Police and U.S. Marshals, I am proud that Omar Bankhead will face justice in Mississippi for his crimes.”

CPD names suspect in carjacking
Clinton, MS (April 5, 2017) Clinton Police have identified a suspect in the Sunday, April 2, 2017 carjacking of a student in the parking garage at Mississippi College. Following numerous tips through Crimestoppers and concerned citizens, Clinton Police identified Omar Bankhead of Clinton as the perpetrator in the crime.
At approximately, 4:33 P.M. on Sunday,
the suspect, Omar Bankhead, approached a student and demanded her
vehicle. Suspect took the vehicle, a white 2015 Kia Optima and was last
seen heading east on Highway 80.
Surveillance video of the campus provided a clear image of the suspect now identified as Omar Bankhead.
The
Clinton Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding
the location of Bankhead to call Crimestoppers at (601) 355-TIPS.
