"My son didn't kill that baby!"

Byron McBride, Sr. lashed out at the media today after a Madison County Justice Court Judge denied bond for his son.  Judge Bruce McKinley denied bond for Byron, McBride Jr.  He was arrested for capital murder in the death of six year-old Kingston Frazier.  McBride attacked the media, saying they had already convicted his son.  Watch the video for yourself:

Apologies for the bad angle of the video.  I was having to lift the camera over a crowd of people and had to guess at the angle for the shot.  An aunt of either Wakefield or Washington spoke to reporters for a few minutes:

Dwan Wakefield's father gave this  interview a few days ago:

That is parental anguish.

This is a tragedy for all the families involved.

J.B. Fletcher or Lt. Columbo would have had this wrapped up by now.

I have to agree with Mr. McBride. The media (to include social media) has already convicted this young man. We still don't know all of the facts yet. This kid is entitled to a fair trial. Lets just hope the DA will fairly present the evidence and not distort the facts. Too many innocent young black kids are already unfairly convicted in our corrupt "justice" system.

Uh, the media were given names by the police and disseminated them.

That's all.

Had Mr. Father of The Year seen his SON's rap sheet?

Good job, Kingfish.

I know....he's a good boy and we are out to unjustly convict another young black man. I have never heard that before! Where the hell were you Mr McBride when your son was out at 1:30 in the morning. It starts at home Mr McBride. You should have had a handle on that kid. Anyone can make a kid but parenting takes hard work, responsibility, love and the ability to recognize when your child does something wrong and discipline them accordingly. If you had done that maybe this child would still be alive. Bad parenting on both sides here. A six year old shouldn't have been in a grocery store parking lot at 1:30 in the morning and a 17 year old has no business being out roaming the streets of Jackson at 1:30 in the morning. Don't blame the press or the courts or society. It starts at home.

@ 2:08
Seems that you would be more concerned for the loss of this young black child and the massive amount of blacks killed by other blacks. This stat is off the chart. But, you would rather talk about the justice system. Get a life guy. If you are going to focus on race I suggest you focus on the fact that its black on black crime overwhelmingly.

2:08, I suspect that before the LEOs went and rousted this "innocent young black kid" out of the house and charged him, there was significant reason for the arrest. Yes - he is entitled to a fair trial. But just because daddy says he is innocent does not make it true.

As to the charge of having been convicted already in the media, I'm not so sure I agree. There seems to have been plenty of media coverage about all three of these "innocent young black kids" being involved, but so far I haven't seen any conviction of one over the other as to who pulled the trigger --- multiple times.

I have faith that Michael Guest will present the evidence as it exists - despite your suggestion that he would distort the facts relative to this "innocent young black kid".

My concern today lies with the truly INNOCENT YOUNG BLACK KID, the six year old boy that was gangland shot and won't enjoy the rest of what hopefully would have been an innocent life.

2:08pm, on which pew of New Jerusalem Baptist Church do you sit?

Anonymous said...

Guest and his assistants won't "distort" any facts. Even if inclined, they won't need to.

Plea bargains are generated when the facts aren't clear, which translates to "litigation risk".

Not enough black and white thugs have been put away because our justice system is slanted in favor of the accused.

Full disclosure, I have been both a criminal defense attorney and an assistant district attorney; for a short time I filled in for an ill trial judge. I doubt 2:08 has any experience in the criminal justice system other than being a defendant...

Anonymous said...

If only this guy had been HALF as upset when his son was posting pictures with guns and trying to be all gangsta.

Anonymous said...

Well that means Washington did it because Wakefield's Aunt says no way he did it and now McBrides dad says he didn't either. Case solved, move on.....

Anonymous said...

In the beginning, I can honestly say, I thought this was an open and shut case of some hoodlums who killed an innocent child out of their greed for an opportunity to steal a car.

But as a Jackson resident, we all hear the underground mumblings.

I've heard that the mother was at Last Call sports bar and did have a couple of alcoholic beverages.

That she walked from Last Call to Kroger's and informed a Sheriff's Deputy working security that she could not find her car.

Another rumor was that McBride told Wakefield he needed a ride and Wakefield simply was supposed to drop off McBride at a location. How Washington got in the mix, is everyone's guess - but it shows why he turned himself into authority's as soon as his name was mentioned on the news?

We still do not know the time of death for young Kingston?

We do not know who was the last person to see young Kingston alive aside from his mother?

Did McBride have any gunfire residue on his hands?

Can anyone substantiate the mother's whereabouts between 10pm and 2am?

There can be no fair trial in Madison county. Why in the world did Hinds let them take jurisdiction, doesn't make any sense.

This is a tragedy for all the families involved.

Yeah, you'll forgive me if I don't shed a tear for the families of three fucking thug hoodlums who were out at midnight on a Thursday night stealing cars and murdering children.

Anonymous said...

This is same old message...no way my kid did this, he wasn't raised this way. Didn't wakefields dad just say he lived out of state and he had no close relatives here other than the boys mother. He has no idea what his kid was up to. Wonder how many of his 8 kids had same mother. Why can't they just say we hope the facts that will come out will exonerate them and shut up.

It's in Madison County because they have evidence that the actual murder was committed in Madison County.

Anonymous said...

To the Laddites who are all concerned about the suspects getting a fair trial and are admonishing media and social media for "convicting this young man" already, I have one question...

Do you similarly advocate for a police officer who was accused of shooting a young black man?

Sorry, but I don't recall gushing support for due process and fair trials when Milwaukee and Charlotte and Ferguson were burning.

Anonymous said...

@2:55- Because that is where the child was murdered.

Anonymous said...

"Yo Dawg You Call That Thuggin? Bitch you ain't thuggin" - Quote from McBride's facebook page. Carry on.

If Mr McBride wants answers, I will give you answers. The two accomplices that were going to have their ASS handed to them to pass around to all the other inmates are the one that let the Police know that your son was the shooter. They were probably rolling for a night out, having fun, maybe steal a car, but noooooo, your dumb ass son shot a 6 year old and now their ass is going to put in the big house forever because your son went gangster. Fuck him and you for acting like he is innocent. You know damn well he is guilty as hell. I understand you love your son but where was the love when he started acting like an idiot? Folks, get your kids under control. It is your fault if they grow up and act stupid.

2:55 -- Heads up - there can be no fair trial in Hinds County. Catch and release and a little boy's life is inconsequential compared to the future of these 3 outstanding young men. Gosh -- I'm sure in their spare time they tutored elementary kids, played basketball at the Y, helped coach little league..........we've all been tainted by all this bad information. I wonder if they gave a "fair trial" to Kingston before they shot him multiple times...........and he died on the side of a road. Wonder if he knew what was happening? Makes me sick to think what that little boy thought when all this happened.

Anonymous said...

"There can be no fair trial in Madison county. Why in the world did Hinds let them take jurisdiction, doesn't make any sense. "

Hinds can have the carjacking charge, and let them out on time served (hell, have Judge Green write 'em a poem before turning them back on the street).

But you, my dear dumbest of all dumb asses, still have to learn that when a 6-year-old's bullet-ridden body is discovered in Madison County, DA Guest will keep it. And your innocent lil homeboys will never walk free again.

Anonymous said...

For 2:26 - McBride is not 17; he's 19. And 2:23, McBride does not have a rap sheet, as least as an adult. Regarding Daddy McBride, the son did not have gun on him probably because he got rid of it.

And this: McBride could face the death penalty because he's over eighteen, according to Madison and Rankin County District Attorney Michael Guest.

“Two of the defendants are facing a maximum sentence of life without the possibility of parole based on their age,” Guest said. “The third defendant based on his age is looking at a potential death sentence.”

Anonymous said...

2:55 I haven't heard anyone say where the child was killed. We do know the child was found in Madison county. Madison is where the murder case will have to start for now. Hinds will have jurisdiction on the theft. No one would argue theft is more important than murder. If one of these fine upstanding young men would tell where the murder took place, if they did it, then law enforcement could change the county of the murder crime. Notice I played the straight up and didn't fall for your innuendo.

Anonymous said...

There can be no fair trial in Madison county. Why in the world did Hinds let them take jurisdiction, doesn't make any sense.

Downgrade the collective JJ IQ another notch.

Now, let me get this right. We've got three young men out at 1:30 in the morning, stealing a car, and then they find out there is a kid in the car. So then it went from car thief to kid napping to murder, and this family is saying he's a good kid ?!? And he didn't kill this innocent child, What !! Armed Robbery, kid napping, and murder is not a supporting story for a "good kid" !!

Anonymous said...

Wakefield's father basically said:

My son is the star QB at ridgeland High, but failed to mention he was kicked off the team
I didn't raise him that way - even though I have 8 kids and he already has a baby
My condolences to the family...but why did that mother leave that baby in the car - I wouldn't do that
I'm a bail bondsman and I know the law...and I have on a bulletproof vest so don't mess with me

My words now...This is all crazy and sad

"Too many innocent young black kids are already unfairly convicted in our corrupt "justice" system." 2:08

2:08 lives in a bubble. We let black kids get away with stuff in school and they get affirmative action for college.

2:08 you need to go be a fly on the wall at Wingfield, Forest Hill, Lanier, Whitten, etc., and then St. Andrew's, Madison Central. Then you will realize how unaware you are.

The Jackson black youth are largely lost.

Prayers for Mr. McBride and his family. I can only imagine the anguish they are experiencing right now. His son may or may not have done this horrible crime but regardless he knows the system has already convicted his child to a death sentence. So sad.

3:01 you should shed a tear for their families. All of them. The whole thing is tragic.

6:35 - and Kingston got a death sentence also -- at least in this case McBride gets a judge, jury and representation. Who was with that little boy on that road that night, helping plead his case and representing him?? I'm certain that the Madison County DA (and I live in Hinds County) is NOT a stupid man, and would NOT have pursued this case, if he did not have the evidence.

Anonymous said...

"I have faith that Michael Guest will present the evidence as it exists - despite your suggestion that he would distort the facts relative to this "innocent young black kid".

LOL. And you would have misplaced faith. Having sat on the jury for one of his criminal cases, I can absolutely say without any doubt that you would be shocked by what passes for quality investigative work. It's not any stretch of the imagination to see how thin or circumstantial evidence would put a black dude away for a long time in Madison/Rankin.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's tough on violent criminals. It's what keeps us from suffering the fate of Hinds County.

I can't help but wonder when the last time Daddy MC even spoke to his son? Sounds to me like he should have been around more the last 5 years, and perhaps he wouldn't find himself in such dispair today.

lets be a little honest here. no matter what county this barbaric act is prosecuted in, it's two life sentences and one death penalty. there's little to no sympathy in either white, black, red, yellow, blue--really any community for thugs that would murder a 6 year old helpless child.

all any DA has to do is be able to prove the animals stole the car. case closed. any jury will vote to convict. judge green's poem would be one even the whitest commentator on JJ would quote...

Anonymous said...

6:35, how could this case be any clearer?? What else do you need!!! I'm just glad the thugs were caught

Surveillance footage from Kroger shows McBride getting out of Wakefield car, and into the car containing Frazier, and driving off. There's McBride all over Facebook flaunting a gun similar to the one used to kill Kingston, a gun McBride suddenly can't seem to produce.

This isn't rocket science.

Anonymous said...

7:22. I shed no tears for these families. Sounds to me like these three needed more family in their life growing up. Funny how the families are suddenly concerned, yet had no problem with their sons running around town at 1:30am on a school night.

Maybe Kroger should erect a monument in their parking lot as a reminder to this innocent young man whose life was snuffed out in a matter of minutes from adults who made extremely unfortunate decisions!

where are the BLM protesters? they are conspicuous by their absence. oh wait, hold the phone,,,,, this was black on black crime so kingston's life only "matters" a little bit.

This whole thing is a shame. What's also a shame is that the child's mother couldn't aid law enforcement in a very timely manner on the details of her vehicle due to it not being registered to her. A 2000 model Toyota, bought it from someone and apparently never had the title changed to her name nor had the registration and license plate in her name. My 2005 Subaru is due for its tag here in Rankin County. That's going to cost me a whopping $35. So obviously, this woman was driving around in a vehicle 1) without a title and 2) without a valid license plate. Which leads to the question "how do you insure such a vehicle?". As sad as everything went down, being afoul of the law and or stupid sure didn't help. And I'm sure there are many many more just like her doing the same thing.

Anonymous said...

One post suggests the mother walked from the club to Kroger and reported the car missing. Another post says there is Kroger footage showing the car being entered and driven away from Kroger.

Both can't be true.

Anonymous said...

Y'all realize that we live in Mississippi right? That being said I seriously doubt that this will go to trial. They will be held and offered a plea, especially if they have a public defender. They will probably take off the death penalty for Mcbride to get him to plea to a life sentence. The other two I'm not sure of. They want this case to go away asap.

Anonymous said...

@10:17. What does black lives matter have to do with this? That is beyond stupid. Kingston accused killers are in jail and will get convicted and sentenced.

Anonymous said...

5:22 - It's NOT 'beyond stupid'. It's actually a pertinent and timely question. The suggestion, and let me make it real clear for you, is that BLM would not dare get involved regarding a 'black life mattering' unless they could march, protest and shoot at white people in authority.

BLM has no concern for the thousands of black lives snuffed out by black youth and gangstas day in and day out in cities across america.

Black lives do matter, especially the innocent ones taken by other black people and if the BLM organization (given birth by and brought into vogue by the prior president) would involve themselves in stopping this out-of-control phenomenon, we would all be well served.

Anonymous said...

6:06 I agree. If BLM was truly concerned they would be here to denounce and reduce black on black crime. Shows their hearts aren't in the right place. It's only when they can protest against a government entity that they bother to show.

Anonymous said...

If Junior is convicted, maybe we outta also prosecute Senior for contributing or something.

Anonymous said...

5:50, is Wakefield's father a bail bondsman? Thought I saw where he was arrested at least once for being a part of a group that kidnapped and beat a 17 year old? Maybe they were just collecting.

Anonymous said...

I'm not a BLM expert, but I did stay at Holiday Inn last night. Isn't BLM focused on police related incidents against blacks? I agree the name is deceiving, but I don't think black on black crime/killings are what they are concerned about ironically enough.

Now, Jesse Jackson and other race pimps, this should be on their radar at least.

Here's a news flash...kids with wonderful parents can turn out badly and kids with horrible parents can turn out well. Linda Harmon had great parents and their other child turned out well. The Fraziers had other kids that turned out well. The Irbys had other children who turned out well.

I don't remember all the discussions about the parenting with the 3 named in the top line or questions about where the parents were and what the parents were doing when these tragic events happened or questions about siblings.

I do remember some blaming drugs or mental health or bullying.

Parental denial is common and some teens can mask well.

I am still seeing social media speculation and claims being repeated even after they were debunked particularly about the mother. The bar story is so obviously ludicrous, I can't believe anyone is buying it. And, some of you haven't read KF's actual time line. You haven't accepted that the initial stories of when this occurred were wrong thanks to Sheriff Mason's CYA efforts.

I really wonder how many of those without a vanity plate can come up with their plate number especially when in a panic. Those of you reaching for that one want to find some reason this is more proof that blacks don't parent well to justify your prejudice.

There's more than a little convenient memory loss too about what teenagers are like and what some of your classmates were like including those with strict parents.

And, as not for giving some law enforcement officers the same courtesy of " innocent before proven guilty", there were videos of the shootings that were hard to ignore and certainly warranted the charges. There were more excuses for the officers from the same cadre that is now objecting to mere parental denial.

For all the idiots that keep screaming, "where is 'Black Lives Matter'"

Black Lives Matter was started due to the number of black people who have been murdered WITHOUT REPRIMAND OR PUNISHMENT

Kingston's alleged killers have been arrested and awaiting trial.

The system is working on behalf of Kingston and his family.

Now lets run this again, when have a white person, not named Nicole Brown Simpson, been murdered by a black person and the black person got away with murder?

Can anyone name a situation where black police officers got away with murdering a white citizen, by shooting them in the back? Hell, even the two black police officers in West Monroe Louisiana, were fired and arrested in the next day they killed a little white boy?

Black Lives Matter is not simply about murder or death! Its about holding people accountable who committed the act of murder and not held accountable for doing so.

Get your lies straight! Get your thoughts together! Come correct before you spew nonsense!

Either you don't remember very well, 9:07, or you're such a nobody that you aren't in on the gossip that goes around. Linda Peach's family background has been THOROUGHLY discussed (and generally dropped, once the religion angle is pointed-out). The Fraziers are discussed in a multigenerational fashion (with the origins of the pathology generally attributed to "blue collar nouveaux riches, out of their place, and in-over-their-heads". And you better believe the Irby patriarch is cited, when people are discussing "the problems with the boys".

"I really wonder how many of those without a vanity plate can come up with their plate number especially when in a panic. Those of you reaching for that one want to find some reason this is more proof that blacks don't parent well to justify your prejudice."

Ok, numbnuts, let me explain: Every 4 or 8 years (at your discretion) the State, for a small fee, gives you the privilege to use the roadway system in the form of a Drivers License. Amongst other things such as your name and photo, it displays where you stay at. Ok, let me clarify. You may stay somewhere else, but it displays where you thought you stayed at the most when you either first got it or renewed it. When you purchase a vehicle you are required to register that vehicle. Buying a used car and keeping the previous owners license plate is illegal. Stealing the license plate from another vehicle and putting it on your vehicle is illegal. So when you register that vehicle in the County of where you stay at, the registrar, once you pay your fees, issues you a license plate and sends the title off to the State Department of Revenue who a few weeks later send you the title to the vehicle in your name, with perhaps a lien if that be the case. The title contains the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) of the vehicle. You are required by State law to have insurance to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Mississippi.

So to our scenario the other night: In lieu of handing law enforcement your drivers license they could have asked: M'aam what is you name? M'aam where you stay at? M'aam what kind of car you be driving that got stole? M'aam what color it be? THAT is ALL the information the HCSO Deputy or ANY OTHER law enforcement officer would have needed to radio into dispatch for dispatch to determine your license plate number so that those looking for the vehicle could have done their job. GOT IT?

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
