Kingston was shot more than once.

It's time to kill a rumor about the murder of little Kingston.  This rumor is spreading like wildfire on social media:

Some readers have attempted to repeat this rumor in comments on this website.  This rumor IS NOT TRUE!!!  Kingston was alive in the Kroger parking lot.  He was alive when he the Camry left the Kroger parking lot.  JJ has learned from law enforcement sources that Kingston was shot multiple times.  JJ will not reveal the exact number but there are multiple gun shot wounds.  There is other evidence as well that will be revealed in due course.

I would just like to know why a six year old child was in the Kroger parking lot at 1:00 in the morning when he should have been home in bed. What was the mother doing with her kid out that late? That is a horrible part of town. Why would you leave him in the car? Why did the police not know until hours later that there was a child in the car? It just doesn't add up. I feel so sorry for that poor baby. They could have dropped him off anywhere. No regard for human life. Sadly that is the norm in Jackson these days.

I am assuming that you are assuming that he was, alive when vehicle left Kroger parking lot. Not giving any credit to the speculation (your defined rumor) about him shooting himself but speculation is still speculation

I don't question him being shot multiple times-that's something LEO'S can cerainy determine. But just as speculation about possible self shooting is crap, assuming he was alive is also bad. Certainly it makes sense, but how do you know it for fact at this point?

Louis LeFleur said...

No, 11:07 it's not "a horrible part of town". I live there. Also, it's not "the norm in Jackson these days".

Otherwise, KF, thanks for the info. Imagine it'll take a while to get information that concise elsewhere!

Really... why all the cloak and dagger secrecy? All the local tv news will do is reprint the press release.

The reports say that Kingston was alive in the Kroger parking lot at 1:15 and then a Hinds Sheriff's Deputy says the mother came out of the Kroger at 2:30. This has to be a mistake.

That she was drunk is not hard to believe since, apparently, the car was running and the doors were not locked.

Where was the mom? I don't agree with it, but I can see how a mom when run into Kroger for only a minute.. Was that the case? Regardless this is a terrible tragedy.

Good thing they drove to Madison County, they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

From this nonsense I have learned no public school is decent. Why should I move from Jxn to Madison county? At least here my property
values are already in the dump (I got a good deal on my house). I have a 9 month old daughter, a Doberman in the yard, pistol in bedside table, and I can't afford JA so home schooling is in my future. Rockwell's America is gone folks and it ain't coming back. What a shame.

That he was shot once makes me want to puke. That he was shot multiple times makes me what to puke over and over and over and over.

Kingfish...WLBT's timeline stated the child was seen alive at 1:15 AM in the Kroger parking lot, but the Hind County Sheriff Deputy wasn't notified about the missing car until 2:30 am.

How is this possible?

1. Either WLBT has made a mistake.
2. The mother stayed in Kroger more than an hour
3. The Sheriff's deputy cannot tell time

IMO, this is very important and your readers would appreciate the facts on this. You're the best at research...so here you go.

Anonymous said...

On not telling law enforcement initially that her child was in the car...maybe she was trying to cover up the extreme negligence of leaving her child in the car in the first place.

If it's true that she did a Facebook Live video from the sports bar, then surely law enforcement will be able to obtain that information, even if it was deleted. (So many rumors on social media, but people are outraged.)

Shooting someone once is bad enough. Shooting someone multiple times, particularly shooting a defenseless six-year-old multiple times... that is overkill. I keep thinking there is more to this story than is being reported and/or yet discovered.

You would think that with all three of these sorry-excuses-for-human-beings facing capital murder charges, one of them would start talking to save himself.

Anonymous said...

Did the mom have a cart full of groceries when she came out of Kroger an hour and 15 minutes later? If not, I'd be interested to see what the security cameras inside the store show her doing for over an hour.

I once had a pistol stolen out of my truck when I stayed at the Comfort Inn. I called the police and they came and took a report. I explained I did not have the serial number but I could get if and I would get back with them. After returning home I got the serial number for the stolen pistol, called the Jackson Police Department and told the person my story and she transferred me to a department that know one would answer the phone. I then called back and asked to speak with the officer that took the original report, was transferred and got some lady that took my info and said she would pass it on. I knew in my gut that the info would never get processed. I did try to follow up and no one could even find the original report. It has always haunted me that some thug was running around with my pistol. I have learned to never leave anything of value in my truck.

Okay, someone's reporting has to be wrong. WAPT is now reporting that the original 911 call came in at 1:37 a.m. They have a <a href="https://htv-prod-media.s3.amazonaws.com/files/kidnapped-child-killed-911-call-1495210343.mp3>recording of the call</a> (starts at 10:10 in), and the caller says there was a 7-year-old child in the car. So if that call really was made at 1:37 a.m., then the prior reporting that the HCSO didn't learn about the theft until 2:30, and didn't learn about the child in the car until much later than that was very, very incorrect.

Kingfish said...

Yup. I've got the tape as well and am already working on my post about it.

Anonymous said...

tell Madison County Police, Mr. Guest please check both cars for residue, blood, gunshot holes etc., and check other places too.

Plain ol' Catfish said...

The coroner did not give an estimate of the time of death?

Do they feel like it was prior to the car being missing or after?

Anonymous said...

I keep reading HCSO......for those of us not in law enforcement, why are we not talking about JPD? Does JPD not have 911 dispatch?

Anonymous said...

I left off my list from earlier
4. The deputy who was supposed to be monitoring the parking lot at kroger was not doing their job. Was not patrolling outside and wasn't in a position to stop this horrific crime.

I think this is what happened.

Anonymous said...

I wanted to believe the rumor that he accidentally shot himself because I did not want to believe that humans could be this heartless. But these were not humans, not animals...just scum.

When I first heard the amber alert yesterday morning, that same thought popped into my head, "what was she doing leaving him in the car alone in that area at 1:30am?" But I dismissed it because finding the boy was ultimately more important. Solve the most important problem first, then circle back around to questions later.

Unfortunately, the worst possible outcome occurred. Now the question can be asked, "Will the mother be punished?" But then I feel like you have to separate the crime from her actions. Though not smart, would leaving her child sleeping in the car be grounds for a negligence charge? Probably not...but the fact that she was out at the bar before this (whether he was in the car at that time or not - I have no clue), and then drove to Kroger and left him alone brings it to another level and makes me sick to my stomach.

Anonymous said...

Was he found in the back seat or the trunk?

I've been reading through the various news articles as the information still seems to be all over the place with not much more than speculation.

I have noticed a curious thing in reporting (that has nothing to do with the acts committed, I don't think, but curious non-the-less) where the boy's father is referenced numerous times, his pictures and video of him is posted on various news sites and all say that he is the one who posted on his facebook page that Kingston was found alive in Greenwood.

The curious thing? I have not seen a single news source name the father. They have named aunts, uncles, friends, grandparents, mother, etc. They just say Kingston's father, but have not stated his name once.

I wish to goodness you would just quit posting!!! This Kroger's is NOT in a "Horrible Part Of Town". It is parallel to I 55 North and used constantly throughout the entire day and well into the night. Only one door is open at night, so I assume that is the side where she parked. These guys were in the parking lot just waiting for some idiot to leave a car running. They also do this at service stations. Don't think they were contemplating kidnapping, but time will tell. My guess is that HCSO was either asleep, occupied, or not there.

It would have been so easy for her to roll the windows down an inch, stop the engine, take the keys and lock the doors and then have gone into Krogers even if the child was asleep or sick.

Am curious too as to what occurred in Krogers. Did she pass out? Was she on the phone? Was she really in Krogers? Did she shop for a long time or for a short time? Did she check out? Did she appear drunk on the security tapes?

Note to Blogger regarding JPD. HCSO is hired to guard Krogers. Some years ago they had private security and an incident happened. The parking lot needs to be redesigned to prevent quick access to interstate and/or frontage road.

Come on KF, I am banking on you to tell us the truth! Its so heartbreaking...regardless of the cause.
Why do the reports keep stating that the 3 have been charged with Capitol Murder...for now. There is nothing higher...this leads me to believe that the charges will likely drop and that there is way more to the story.
So why create a made up story, that the child was deceased prior to the Kroger parking lot? This would protect the 3 that have been charged? Does the mother know these 3 boys?
Come on KF, enlighten me...

Anonymous said...

Why do you people so badly WANT there to be some deeper story or conspiracy? I don't understand what motivates people to (1) make these things up or (2) state them as fact when in reality you have absolutely no clue.

Anonymous said...

Thank you, Victor Mason, for botching the timneline. IS there anything you do well?

Anonymous said...

Perhaps the time stamps on the security footage weren't adjusted for Daylight Savings Time. That would account for the time discrepancy.

Anonymous said...

12:53 - I have wondered the exact same thing.

Anonymous said...

@ 1:05, people (myself included) want this to be a conspiracy or "deeper story" because we don't want to believe this sort of thing can happen as a random act of violence. My family shops at that Kroger all the time, and for my own sanity, I don't want to believe that this truly "could have happened to anybody."

Anonymous said...

Ditto 1:05's comment. Seems like people sooo badly want for it to be the mother's fault. 3 people have already been charged with capital murder so there must be strong evidence that they did it. Has the mother been charged? Is she a person of interest? A suspect? NO. Poor lady just lost her son- GIVE IT A REST.

Anonymous said...

@1:32 so you're naive. Got it.

Anonymous said...

I would like to add to the chorus that this Kroger is NOT in a "horrible part of town" for goodness sake.

Kingfish said...

I go in and out of that Kroger all of the time. It's safe. This took place after 1 AM when the deputy who was supposed to be outside was somewhere else.

Anonymous said...

If the deputy was outside or within 100 ft of her vehicle, why would that matter? She left the keys in it with the engine running. No force used to steal the car. Child asleep. Why would the deputy know something was amiss? I'm also not blaming the mother, either.

Anonymous said...

12:24 - I so agree!

The jack holes who believe there's a conspiracy behind this are the same ones who think Trump is being crucified.

Death by firing squad to all those involved in this child's murder. Please let this be so.

Anonymous said...

@12:53. I have noticed the same thing. I wonder why his name has not been released?

Anonymous said...

1:36 - I don't believe anyone wants "so badly" to believe it is the mother's fault. Rather, I think most people are appalled at her actions and truly wondering what the truth is. Because it's just hard for most parents to fathom this lack of judgement when it comes to taking care of your child.

Anonymous said...

Everybody's an expert. From my experience in emergency response, I can tell you the facts are always foggy in the early hours of an incident like this. News media are stepping on each other's grandmothers to get the live truck set up and scoop everybody else, which leads to reporting awards but also all kinds of mistakes. Different law enforcement agencies have different clocks and radios and other equipment that is not necessarily synched with everyone else's stuff. Eyewitness accounts are always notoriously inaccurate in an incident like this that happens so fast. All you experts with all the "Why?" this-and-that questions should go back to watching your soap operas.

OMG. You guys are more upset about what I said about Kroger than the crime. I am just saying that there is really no safe place in Jackson anymore. I remember when a little old lady got her head bashed in in that parking lot. A friend of ours had here car stolen there. That was some time ago. Crime has gotten much worse since then. Every night on the news there is another murder. It is not confined to West Jackson. Even Eastover gets hit. Remember when the dog was shot and killed? I was trying to put things in perspective. No one wants to blame the mother when she just lost her child. But the bigger picture begs the questions. Three no good thugs violently took the life of a sweet innocent little boy with his whole ahead of him. He should have never been in that parking lot. Those violent thugs that took his life were only 17 years old. Where were their parents?
We moved to Jackson in 1971 and it was a wonderful place to grow up. As much as I love it, you can' bury your head in the sand. Jackson is a dangerous city....all of Jackson! That being said, a little common sense can go a long way.

So. Many. Experts. On. Here.

So what about the fact that the "uncle" has a lot to gain from the "sympathy" in the community the next time he runs for office? I haven't felt right about him since before Kingston was found. Is it so hard to believe that he and other "individuals"set it up, the boys took the fall, the mother gets insurance and the uncle gets his spotlight in politics? I mean he has run out of things to complain about to the community and has no one left to sue. Considering one of the "arrested individuals" is a known drug dealer, and the uncle is actually connected to said drug dealer... The things that make you go hmmmmm....

Was the Mom at "LAST Call" sports bar ?
I've read she got to Kroger around 1:15 but not reports till after 2:00
Quick walk from Kroger parking lot !
Could she have parked at Kroger acting as she was shopping?
Slipped over to Last Call for some fun?

A little "opinionated question" I left out of my previous commmet... Wasn't the one county that David Archie desperately needed backing, votes and support from Madison County?

Anonymous said...

3:16, questions please.

- where was that dog killed?
- where were these thugs from?
- where were the thugs parents, in which town?
- you don't know of any cars that have been stolen in Madison County, only Hinds?
- you don't know of any crimes that have occurred in Ridgeland, only Jackson?

Hate to tell you, crime happens everywhere. Does Jackson have way too much? Damn right. Does most of it happen in West Jackson? Hell yes. Does some of it happen in NE Jackson? Absolutely. Does Ridgeland, or anywhere north of County Line Road have any carjackings, abductions, etc? Yes, they do.

Get over your 'all's bad in Jackson'. There is plenty wrong with the entire criminal justice system in Jackson, but these thugs came down south to start this crime and finished it back across the imaginary wall you see on the centerline of County Line Road. Don't you really wish it worked that way, and that you could also continue that moat on the north side somewhere before you get to Nissan?

I hope that the people that said '...leave the kid in the car and run in for a minute...' and '...roll the window down a little, lock the doors, and run in for a minute...' does NOT have any kids. You're as big a moron as this mother. You DON'T leave a kid in a car, EVER, and especially a running car. And these people vote. God help us.

Anonymous said...

I don't care what anyone thinks but in my opinion, everywhere in Jackson is unsafe. I don't go beyond the patrolled parking lot of St. Doms and would not even venture that far into the city if one of my doctors moved to Rankin. I am from a large city but feel JX is the ghetto of MS.

Anonymous said...

It's true that this was a bad judgment call on the mother's part, and she will regret it for the rest of her life. However, she was not the person who shot and killed little Kingston. It was HER car and HER child. They should have never approached that car because it didn't belong to them. These thugs need to get some jobs and buy their own things and stop stealing and taking from everyone else. And when the police catches you that quick, you are too ignorant and dumb to be a criminal.

Anonymous said...

6:13 - I will remember that as I leave my office in Jackson tonight and walk from there the couple of miles to my house. Do this regularly; walk the neighborhood as well. Car stays unlocked day and night and except for one time fifteen years ago has survived without a scratch. Dont feel a necessity to carry, although I have no personal objection to it - either in car or on person. And yes, I am a white adult male, living in a decent section of the city. Venture into all areas of the city on a regular basis. Do I pay attention to my surroundings? Damn right. Do the same when I am in Madison or Rankin - or NOLA or Memphis or Starkvegas. But I am not running around afraid of all areas - sorry you have to stay inside your locked up compound in your enclave.

Oh please! I used to live in the part of town that Kroger is in, and it is a terrible part of town. I had my vehicle broken into twice, another vehicle broken into, 2nd vehicle later stolen, neighbors beaten and robbed in their own front yard, and a stabbing in the street. Not to mention my former neighbor across the street got broken into once a month for 4 months before he moved. The lady next to him burglarized multiple times as well.

Anonymous said...

This Kroger is not in a safe location and has been the site of multiple crimes. I know it's featured in at least one Supreme Court opinion re: the "atmosphere of violence" in the area.

Parking lots pretty much everywhere are dangerous due to their easy ingress and egress with an automobile. They're even more dangerous at night. If you see a police car patrolling the parking lot of an establishment - full time - that's a clue you shouldn't ignore.

Anonymous said...

6:13 You are brave and I hope to God you stay safe. Called my Mom today who shops regularly at this Kroger and begged her to not go after dark.I grew up in this neighborhood and I don't want to admit what it has come to.

Anonymous said...

8:57, really? I have no reason to lie. My neighbor who was beaten and robbed was 85 years old, all they stole was a pinky ring and some cash. The more man had to stay in the hospital for a while. He lived with his daughter and they moved to Madison after that. My across the street neighbor who had break ins once a month moved somewhere in Madison too. The stabbing happened at the end of my driveway, it was a lady who was stabbed by her ex husband. I heard her blood curdling screams and called the police. Don't anyone of you kid yourselves into a false sense of security about Jackson.

Hey 10:25 and all of the rest of the people just saying horrible things about Jackson:
Where do you live?
Do you live in Madison?
" ". Brandon?
". ". Ridgeland?
". ". Gluckstadt?
Or anywhere else in the Tri-County area?

Do you know why you live there? Because of the PROXIMITY TO THE SPOILS OF THE CAPITOL CITY, that's why. They would NOT EXIST without Jackson. So, please listen: JACKSON'S PROBLEMS ARE YOUR PROBLEMS. WHAT IS BAD FOR JACKSON IS BAD FOR YOU.
Rolling around in the negativity of this narrative about the city to subconscious fulfillment for your neighborhood choice is insane. You are making your own life worse by talking like that. It doesn't make any sense. If you loathe Jackson so much, move to Smith county or Jones county or Toronto or somewhere. If you decide to stay, please be a positive force in making things BETTER. This starts with an improvement in your attitude. I will pray for that.

Now, let's spend our time mourning this horrifying tragedy and praying for these people who were affected, instead of searching for some reason to get excited about "how awful" a municipality is. Utilize your abundant stores of energy to go serve somewhere downtown, and/or help the kinds of people who were raising a boy like Kingston. But please, do not buy into the fact that moving ten minutes away is going to solve all of your problems. Choose to be part of a solution.

Anonymous said...

You still lie.

You didn't live anywhere near the Kroger or the things you state didn't happen. Take your pick.

There is no street east of I-55 where even half of the crimes you stated have occurred, sans, possibly, apartments.

I've lived in Jackson for 30 years. I know there is crime here. However, I have never been the victim of any type of crime. My house has never been burglarized. I don't think Jackson is any more dangerous than Madison or Ridgeland or any other city after dark. Crime is everywhere. If you do not believe there is crime in your city, you are living in a fantasy world. If you build it, they will come. And if you don't believe me, stop by your local courthouse. It's all public record. A false sense of security makes the next victim.

Dear 12:19,

Definition of suburb:
1
a : an outlying part of a city or town
b : a smaller community adjacent to or within commuting distance of a city
c : the residential area on the outskirts of a city or large town

Sir, the root word of the word "suburb" is "urban" thus pertaining to the rooted "city" that originated the area.
Madison, the area in which you work and play, does not exist without its urban root. So, the spoils of the city are what created Madison. The proximity of the Capitol city. Do you want Jackson to fail? Each day that Jackson gets worse, so does Madison. Embrace it or you will look up one day and realize that your community is in a bind that you never expected. Get real.

I posted 6:13 and have never lived in any sort of enclave. I travel locally, state to state and even overseas. I still believe JX is very unsafe. I am glad several posters live there and love it. I would hate to think of anyone stuck there and not be able to move out of it so it is good you like it. I would like to think there are many of you who feel that way and can help to make it a better place but until the government changes drastically, I will not reside there and continue to avoid it.

The city has so a wonderful rich history and beautiful churches, government buildings etc. and could attract vast tourism if cleaned up and safety was not an issue. The city can't manage their roads or water which seems far easier to control than crime. Good luck!

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
