The Canton Board of Aldermen voted 4-0 yesterday to terminate Rudy Warnock as city engineer. Aldermen Les Penn, Eric Gilkey, and Andrew Grant did not attend the special called meeting. Mr. Warnock is engaged in a court fight with Canton Municipal Utilities as well. The court denied CMU's motion to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction earlier this week.

Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Canton hope you have your lawyer's ready Rudy Files suit in 3....2....1....
Maybe Canton will hire IMS---I understand their candidate did not win.
Murder-for-hire RFPs are soon to hit the local newspapers.
GOOD !!
should've happened a long time ago !
Kingfish, on a separate thread, asked the question Damn, do you people ever get happy about anything?
I think we can ALL get happy about this‼‼
✌️
Rudy! Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!....
@10:42, if you are referring to Green, then yes you are correct. The candidate that the few white families still connected to Canton (country club area) were hoping to win, obviously did not make the runoff. I give it to Arnel, he is as slick as Truly, but he hides it much better from the public. Well, and the fact that Mrs. Harrell doesn't know day from night, works in his favor.
The problem with this happening in a special called meeting yesterday and why people aren't jumping up and down is, if Arnel wanted this done so badly, why did he wait until he was in the run-off? He knew he always had Olivia Harrells vote (lame-duck) but what is interesting is McNeal and Brown went along with it as well. So one has to ask, does that mean Arnel is looking to team up with SOL Engineering before the runoff date, to hope get those votes before Truly can!
*When Bolden took office in 2013 your engineers were Granberry-Travis and SOL Engineering for the Truly administration. Both those were replaced by Warnock.
This should all work out well - Rudy can move to Jackson and take over there while IMS moves to Canton. Swap crook for incompetent, or if you like better for incompetent crook (take your pick, but obviouy the crook title has to first go to Warnock.)
IMS will be out in Jackson by July; Warnock is already making moves to get in; checkbook should be coming out soon. IMS would fit in quite well with the bunch that can't shoot straight in Canton.
Good riddance!
And 12:47, Canton better hope that Mayor Bolden is re-elected! We do not need Truly back in. And those that supported Green were obviously uninformed about his financial troubles and anger management issues.
Warnock supported Green. If Jackson hires Warnock, then they really are crazy.
Maybe Leake County Board of Good Ole Boys, I mean, Supervisors will dump Rudy now too...
Not holding my breath...
If anybody hires Warnock, they are really crazy. Probably on the take as well, but there isn't enough money to make the gamble worth it. (1) question as to who all may be listening, (2) can't get rid of him; if you do he will sue you, and of course the latest (3) he might want you to be bitch-slapped.
Rudy will not be hired by the incoming administration in Jackson. You can take that to the bank, IMHO.
@2:48 I'm assuming you live in Canton. Everyone is very informed that Green has some financial trouble, and yes that he did tell Arnel's arrogant butt that he would slap him upside the head. Someone needs to after all the veto's Arnel has been signing.
Everyone is also very informed of all the wrongs Arnel has done over the last 9-10 months with getting in bed with the Blackmon's. Don't get me wrong, and Bolden knows this. The ones that backed Green will switch to Bolden simply because they'd rather have Arnel than Truly. Not because they think Arnel is a good Mayor or cares one bit about them.
With all that said, hopefully Arnel will beat Truly, because Truly is THE WORST CASE! Arnel isn't good, but I agree with you, he is better than Truly.
2:48 Bolden's vetoes saved CMU from Rudy. Without them, Rudy would be running CMU for his own benefit.
IF Rudy is a crook why is he not in jail? I've lived in Jackson for 10 years and I don't know Rudy but if I had a nickel for every time I hear his name and crook in the same sentence I would be rich. So if he is such a crook why is he not in jail? I suspect from what I've personally seen the people who are calling him a crook are those that he has refused to give money to.
@10:24 the chances your name isn't Arnel Bolden is about 5-10%.
The veto's have done nothing but keep Cleveland Anderson as a CMU commissioner and The Blackmon's padding their pockets. Dont kid yourself. Everyone knows what is going on and that is why this election is so damn close. If Bolden had kept honest like he was elected on and had proved to be for years with a business in Canton, his re-election would have been easy. But instead, we are all worried Truly is about to get back in cause Arnel couldn't stay away from Barbara & Ed.
You people who disfavor Arnel over Truly are just pissed that you ain't on the inside track. Arnel is a professional man, appears professional, conducts himself professionally. Truly is a scoundrel with a wicked smile, like a fox, but more like a skunk.
Can somebody provide a list of three really positive things Truly did the last time he was mayor? Sidney Runnels was the last productive mayor had and y'all ran his ass out of town. How many years ago was that and how many mayors have you have since then, some two or three times?
10:51....From what the mayor of Madison said time and again, Rudy is not in jail because he has never been investigated. Clearly her campaign for State Auditor centered around her well publicized belief that neither the Auditor nor Mr. Attorney General Hood's cousin would bother to open an investigation. She stated that time and again and it's the gospel.
Both of them, as well as the county D.A. are in one way or another connected to Warnock. They either share employees, play golf together or have a mutual pie in the oven. And that leaves out the FBI. Maybe somebody else can opine as to why the FBI dodges the Madison County leader of corruption.
My understanding of Canton politics is that Bolden indeed beat the Blackmons four years ago at the ballot box. However, the Blackmons outmanuevered him and managed to take control of the board of Aldermen. Then the Rudy/Karl clan decided to invade and Bolden was pretty much left out there without a real power base and thus kind of, sort of, leaned towards the Blackmons. I could be wrong so feel free to correct me on this one.
@11:21 as far as 3 good things Truly didn't, well they do not exist. The only thing, ONLY thing you can give Truly a pat on the back for is using the Blackmon's to get Bennie to get Canton a Wal-Mart. Besides that, there is ZERO positive about Truly. But I'm not sure I can name you many, if any positives under Bolden. The square is making a come back, that is for certain, so Arnel can say he has that to show, but the problem is 80-90% of square merchants signed a letter in support of Greg Green, so I don't think they feel Bolden is any power behind that resurgence, so to say. BUT... BOLDEN MUST BEAT TRULY, if not, you may finally see the mass exit...
KF, from what I understand, I believe your knowledge on the current situation is correct. Bolden was backed by a community wide effort in 2013 to get Truly out, and to fire the Blackmon's from the city and CMU. So In 2013 with the Bolden and the amount of new aldermen, those events happened. In the fall of 2016 is when everything started falling apart as the Blackmon's, with Arnels support ended back up as CMU counsel. And ever since then, depending on which side you want to believe is the issue.... it's a mess.
One thing is a fact: Truly is such a white hating racist, he makes Kennuf Stokes look like a decent human.
Also, my impression is that when Rudy Warnock and his boys hijacked the CMU last year that Bolden had to work with the Blackmons (which were the lesser of the evils) to root his sorry ass out of the CMU treasury.
@10:40 You and I, are in 100% agreement with your first statement about Truly making Stokes look like a decent human.
As for your second thought, that sounds like what Arnel Bolden keeps telling everyone as his cover up story. Depending on which side of the fence your on, the Blackmons are far worse to deal with than Rudy Warnock. But the problem is that everyone ask, after they hear what your saying is this: What does firing the engineer have to do with the legal counsel? Why did the CMU board originally fire Lisa Ross and replace her with Mike Espy? Well Id say that was a Rudy move obviously. But why did the board that fired Rudy replace Mike Espy with Blackmons, and not go back to the lady Arnel bought with him in 2013 in Lisa Ross?
So I get what your saying, but I cant seem to understand why Rudy or the Blackmons are at CMU. They weren't for the first 3 years of Bolden's term, and now in the last 12 months they both have been???
@ 9:28 am
You have stated some facts that are undeniable but your quest to understand is simple. Rudy got to Les Penn which means that the board members that exist at CMU are there because of the deals made in exchange for "this or that under the table deals" which is out of the Mayor's control all the Mayor has is his Veto power. Rudy has one last attempt to get back his control Fred Esco and Roberto Williams then he would be able to override the Mayor's veto. So the corruption continues. Here's the team: Andrew Grant Ward 7 Eric Gilkey Ward 6 Les Penn Ward 3 and (These two have to win the run-off on the 16th) Fred Esco Ward 2and Roberto Williams ward 1.
@4:09. If only one wins then you have a 4-3 vote. 4 is more than 3.
Ralph Barnes is supporting Arnel. Ed Blackmon is supporting Truly. Who is Rudy supporting?
The whites have let Canton down. When John Noble was on the board, he would sell CMU down the road in order to keep his board slot (and the money and health insurance). Charles Weems was/is Rudy's boy. Les Penn is a looking out for Les Penn. He's worthless. I don't know much about Olivia Harrell's action/influence so I won't speak on her. The other three I spoke of you can take those facts to the bank. I don't see how Noble, Weems, and Penn can show their face in Canton anymore.
@ 6:57pm
You do well 4 is more then 3 but you need 5 votes to override the Mayor's veto. Which is what it would take to silence Arnel.
I love Anonymous... maybe one day we'll be required to put our actual names and people could verify some of what people actually say here. But until then, I'll just join the Anonymous group of internet heros!
@8:47 that's some funny stuff, it's the whites fault. In a city that is almost 80% black, let's blame it on the few white people. So, where do you live? If you are white doesn't that most likely mean you live in Penn's ward? If that is the case, why didn't you or anyone run against him?
And @9:07 is correct, 4 to 3 can get a lot done but you have to have 5 in a 7 member board to override a veto. But you made yourself sound like Arnel Bolden with your second sentence. Everyone knows how he enjoys beating his chest!
@11:45 I didn't say it was the white's fault. I'm saying that as the black "leaders" took Canton down the wrong road, the white elected officials gladly watched it happen as long as they could personally profit from it. Instead they should have done their job and tried to prevent it. And I don't live in Penn's ward. I'm a lifelong Cantonian who was born in the old hospital on highway 16 and went to school in Canton. I moved to Gluckstadt a few years ago because I was fed up. But I know everyone there very well.
Weems, Penn, and Noble did nothing to try and steer it in the right direction. I promise you that John Wallace and Ernest Buttross would have tried to steer CMU in the right direction regardless of the demographics. I promise you that if a Lloyd Spivey (the old man not the judge) was an alderman he would try to steer it in the right direction. They wouldn't just give in and sell the city or CMU down the road. What woukd Jim Lacey have done when he was alderman? What would a George Walker (deceased) have done? Hell Eddie Gene Akins wouldn't have fallen for this crap when he was an alderman.
8:20 Rudy supported Green. Now he is trying to get control of the Board. Esco and the person running against Brown. If they win, he has 5 votes and will seize control of the city and eventually CMU unless the Blackmons can flex their muscle to stop him.
6:56 you hit the nail on the head. Be sure to get your family friends to defeat Esco.
Only on Jackson Jambalaya can you find support for Rodriquez Brown and the Blackmons! I'm not saying Rudy is a good dude, or even close to decent, but the support y'all want to throw out for people just because they are against Rudy is comical.
@6:56 every family you mentioned, besides Mr. Eddie Gene Akins, rest his soul, is doing everything in their ability to get Brown beat in Ward 1, now that is something you can take that to the bank! It's as public as can be, no behind the scenes, under the table, nothing! Brown is the worst person on the board, you find me a person with half a brain voting for Brown, let me know!
Y'all are all wrong. Rudy is selling out and moving to Nashville to become a preacher. Canton is the last thing on his mind.

I can assure you that I am not Arnel but you can't assure me that you are not Les Penn since you love to hide in place where you can't be seen. Saying things: "like why didn't anybody run against me"? 'Strategy, Strategy, Strategy wins over Les Penn in the End'I had no intentions on rhyming but if Rudy's looking for some good amen deacons I am available. I think Nashville will be good for my skin tone.
Rudy going out on top rich and becoming a preacher! Congrats my brother. You deserve it after the way you served our country!
