Check out this post from June 5, 2012:
Rankin County attorney Louis Guichet III was charged with "unlawfully, willfully, and feloniously" possessing less than 2 grams of methamphetamine at 114 Cumberland Road. The site is within 1500 feet of St. Marks Methodist Church. He was charged with two counts. Mr. Guichet practices law in Flowood. The affidavits are posted below.
Check out the police report. The District Attorney is reviewing all cases involving members of the Goon Squad. There is a strong chance this one might get dismissed. Thus Louis would be able to come home.
The Bar slapped the attorney with a 90-day suspension that has since expired. The Mississippi Bar's website states he is currently suspended for non-payment of dues.
Who knows, this guy may be back in town practicing law within a year. Stay tuned.

I knew a guy who had drugs planted on him in college. It nearly ruined his life but thankfully, his family was wealthy and connected enough to eventually prove the cop was the criminal.
This sort of Goon Squad is inexcusable and everyone who covered for them should be on trial too. This is not about skin tones. This is about LEO abusing their authority and it should terrify us all.
Just the beginning. There will be more.
Let's start with this case, put it under a microscope and determine if his conviction is valid.
If this damn Goon Squad has been planting evidence to put people in jail, I hope Judge Lee can get some proof (not keyboard commando proof, real proof) and put them away for life in November.
So many cases will need to be reexamined and if there is doubt, the error if made should be made on the side of the accused. This is the reasonable outcome of what these criminals did under the shield or badge of law enforcement.
That’s methed up.
The Goon Squad is going to be the gift that keeps on giving for some time.
All convictions by these officers need to be investigated, but especially any drugs and/or firearms convictions. Any cases with even a spec of doubt should be overturned and the person's history be expunged.
I had some cases against Louis around 2010. There was no doubt he was using crystal back then and his former roommate was just out of prison for meth. Not saying that these deputies were good folks, but Louis probably did what they say he did.
11:14. I remember. FREE POT!! The crooked cop was a sicko and went to prison. I wonder if he is out now.
He is not listed as an inmate in per the MDOC inmate search portal. https://www.ms.gov/mdoc/inmate/Search/Index
Will Lynn Fitch prosecute the goons for making false sworn statements?
Why would he be?
Might not hurt for someone to review these cases other than the DA.
They ruined this man’s life 11 years ago. That’s a long time and a lot of potentially lost wages.
I’m waiting for the next statement from Bryan Bailey on this.
I’m hoping his deity gives him some better guidance now, than when it told him to keep McAlpin in power.
And another day will pass without Bryan Bailey’s resignation.
When is he going to answer for McAlpin?
McAlpin’s been trouble for years and yet Bryan Bailey kept him in charge of this civil asset forfeiture cash cow.
Who are the other members of the "goon squad" that have not surfaced. There are all kinds of mentions to other members - no way it was just this few
12:16 exactly!
And KF is well acquainted with Raymond Ethan Thomas via 15 or so articles here on the blog.
He learned nothing from his Starkville shenanigans and went on to terrorize others while living in Reunion and Mountain Brook AL.
Just a POS criminal cop that thankfully never found a whole squad of like-minded mental patients in Rankin County to expand his reign of terror.
Sure the ACLU is spinning up on this.
I have no doubt there are many cases that need to be reviewed that were handled by the RCSO six however Louis Guichet is a piece of literal human garbage. This is the man who bounced the paychecks of both his associate attorney and his paralegal while he was in Mexico cheating on his wife with one of his former clients. Then, proceeded to run around town blaming it on his sweet paralegal who by the way is one of the sweetest, most honest and best paralegals in the business. That’s just the tip
of the iceberg with Louis. He threw his wonderful wife & two beautiful children away. Pull that file from the Chancery Court. Nobody, ruined this idiots life but himself. He 1000% was on meth and there’s no telling what else.
There are people who have legitimately been victimized but Louis isn’t one of them. He made his own choices and ruined his own life. He and only he is to blame.
I've had a couple of Rankin attys that were his collegues tell me that Guicett was fluent in Spanish and was in Mexico and that Rankin didn't pursue him because of the cost of housing him--they just wanted him gone. I've been involved in one extradition out of Mexico, and it was fairly simple compared to what I expected. But with the new border squabble, I understand that all of that is overwith, as likely will be his voluntary return given that if there, he entered that country illegally. Dunno, will be interesting for an old lawyer to track :)
@2:44 PM - Of course not. Lynn Fitch isn't gonna do squat. She's the sorriest excuse for an Attorney General I can imagine. She's a perfect example of the Peter Principle at work.
So, if he isn't in prison and he isn't home, where is he?
It’s been speculated he is in Mexico but nobody knows nor does anyone care. He needs to stay wherever he is. All he does is hurt and cause turmoil wherever he is. But nobody needs to feel sorry for Louis “Joey” Guichet.
@4:21
You must be one of those bulbs we use in the fridge.
Let me spell it out for you, dim sum.
Dude hasn’t been able to practice law because the arrest ruined his career.
Plenty of lawyers have affairs with their clients and it doesn’t mess up their reputation as long as they are successful.
An attorney who goes to jail after having evidence planted on him won’t be viewed as a very successful attorney.
McAlpin, huh? Name rings a bell.
@4:58 PM Thank you.
@5:15 PM Thanks, I think. When I submitted my question the responses above my post weren't visible yet. But bless your heart for the sarcasm.
@5:15 the arrest was hardly the only thing to ruin his career.
He would make a perfect partner for Carlos the Clown.
