The motions have been heard, discovery has been completed, and the jury is on hand. All that remains is the trial of one Willam Earvin Edwards. Known as the Cipher, Napoleon, and just plain Polo, it is now time for him to run the gauntlet of justice. Watch the proceedings below, courtesy of WLBT. The proceedings can be seen on the county website as well.
The oral arguments are posted above. The prosecution said Edwards was jealous of Shadow Robinson's relationship with Bobby Davis. He knocked on the door of Robinson's Clinton home. A fearful Robinson retreated to a bedroom while Davis told her he would handle things. Edwards fired 9 9mm rounds into Davis when the door opened. Edwards fled to New Orleans.
Edwards attorney Tom Fortner blamed it all on Shadow Robinson. He said Robinson was the only witness to the alleged murder. He said the only person who placed Edwards at the Robinson home was Robinson. It appears Fortner will spend the entire trial trying to paint Robinson as the killer of her boyfriend of the moment, Bobby Davis.
The prosecution opened with the playing of the 911 calls. The testimony and calls are posted above.

CJ has already salivated the front of his shirt wet. If there was an opportunity to provide live color commentary he'd be all over it.
