Northpark Rioters ID'ed

The Ridgeland Police Department issued the following statement and mugshots.

On Saturday, August 12th, at 4:13pm, Ridgeland PD officers were dispatched to Northpark after 911 calls in reference to a fight with possible shots fired. Upon arrival, eye witnesses advised that a group of six young men began fighting in the Food Court area of Northpark and one shot was fired. Investigators responded to the scene and began to collect evidence.

Deputies from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department as well as Capitol Police responded to assist in any way needed. The situation was brought under control promptly and part of Northpark was closed until the scene could be processed and cleared. One bystander was injured with shrapnel and refused medical attention.

Ridgeland PD was later advised that an individual had arrived at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Yazoo City with a gunshot wound to the hip. Investigators responded and spoke with the victim with the assistance of Yazoo City Police Department personnel.

At this time, warrants have been issued for James Earl Cole, Jr., age 20, of Benton; Kyandre Rahkeem Harris, age 21, of Yazoo City; Jamari Jaquez Brown, age 24, of Yazoo City; and Jalen Deonte Carter, age 20, of Yazoo City.

The City of Ridgeland is working with the management of Northpark to end this unacceptable activity. You will see an increased law enforcement presence in this area. Northpark is a major shopping destination in the State of Mississippi and the men and women of the Ridgeland Police Department remain dedicated to the safety of shoppers at Northpark.

If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the Ridgeland Police Department at 601-856-2121 or Crimestoppers at 601-355-TIPS.

Always interesting how quickly photos of perps can be produced. Must be senior year class photos? Yea, must be.

Probably 20 years ago, some youths fired a gun in MetroCenter and it was newsworthy. Now they do it in North Park and is barely newsworthy. What's the over and under on Northpark closing? Does anyone think it'll make it five years?

More Yazoo County "back pack" trash. East side West side. Yazoo City's demographics have changed as has city "leadership". The town is slowly decomposing. The mayor and city clerk know how to tie those bow ties though!

Why come to Ridgeland? Ain't no fun to be had in Yazoo?

Take out your wallet, dumb dumb. Ever notice how they look like the same photos when someone is missing or grandma takes the Lincoln for a joy ride? They use drivers license photos.

@5:11
20 years ago that gun was likely a rusty .22 revolver with a duct tape grip. Now it’s a stolen Glock with a 3D printed full-auto switch or a similar modified full-auto AR pistol. Still, not so newsworthy. Crime reports stir racist sentiment. And of course all #BLM

"Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose". The more things change, the more they stay the same. At my advanced years I am daily shocked that what I have taken for granted for decades, slips away into the graveyard of obscurity:

Pursuit of excellence, peace through strength, minding one's conscience, self discipline to stay on the narrow path between the seven deadly sins, simple respect for natural biology, husbandry of our blessing of natural resources, worship of The Creator, marriage before family, prosperity earned but not guaranteed, on and on...

Behavior in the Ridgeland Walmart predicted moral decline resulting in savages warring in the mall.

Ridgeland is lost, Yazoo has been lost.

The whole state is lost. Just another generation or so and Jokeway will be governor. Get out while you still can get something for your house.

You put enough police in Nortpark and it'll become a shopping Mecca.

Leave it as is and you might as well bulldoze it down.

How about Yazoo City… keep your trash in yazoo!!!

Dang. Now that these guys are gonna be locked up, who will cure cancer?

Anonymous said...

And right after a gun show at the Trademart. A coincidence?
What's it going to take to make it stop!

Should have hung onto them while they were taking their pictures!

Time to close the doors or Northpark should provide adequate security with guns and not the flashlight ones to patrol Northpark.

"One bystander was injured with shrapnel and refused medical attention."

Nope. Shrapnel is small metal spheres or projectiles ejected from a special exploding artillery shell which contained the pieces for that purpose. It never comes from a small arm.

Make an example of these fools, someone innocent could have been seriously injured by one of these ingrates. Grandma get your money ready for commissary or you can help one of your grandkids that is trying to make something of themselves!

Grandma do not spend one dime of these fools, let it play out in court! When you do stupid shit as these fools they should have money set aside to pay for their misdeeds.

We were talking, the wife and I, about not going to Northpark anymore. But now I see there's going to be this increased law enforcement presence there, heck, we're taking the whole family Saturday and going to spend all day out there.

There’s not supposed to be a shooting at Northpark. Signs on all doors say Gun Free Zone. Must have been a perception of a gunshot. Probably some red neck kid with an electronic sound maker that just sounded like a gunshot. Need some studies from a Jackson resident to determine how the gunshot victim became such a thing.

This is why we can't have anything nice.

Certain elements of Yazoo City and WNW Jackson are becoming indistinguishable, interchangeable, extensions of one another. How heavily patrolled is that stretch of Hwy 49 these days?

Ten or so years ago, the movie theater across the street from the outside entrance to the Food Court became a place to be avoided at all costs. Now this.

Gene Magee needs to hold up with the photo-ops and get his spandexed ass off that bicycle and make some decisions regarding safety!

5:55, that’s a whole lotta fancy talkin. Are you from here?

These young thugs were very misinformed. This mall is for the exclusive thuggery by Jackistan yutes. Like in Pulp Fiction, take away their Ridgeland "privilege cards."

While I certainly appreciate RPD increasing their presence and patrols around the mall, the truth is that won't stop a shooting inside the mall as has happened twice now in the past year. Patrolling outside will allow RPD to get to the scene faster after a shooting but not stop the shooting. The only way I see to prevent a shooting is to have metal detectors and a security guard at every single entrance to the mall. But there has to be at least 10 entrances or so, so having metal detectors and a security guard at every entrance all day long would be quite expensive. That significantly increases the operating cost to the mall's owner and each store/tenant within the mall.

Yazoo City has gotten really bad lately. It's like Clarksdale south, full of gang violence.

Anonymous said...

Ridgeland needs to stomp this out quickly. Jackson ignored crime for years and it destroyed the city.

8:43 PM wins for the “blame everything but the real problem” Democrat point of view.

6:22 PM, agree “You put enough police in Northpark and it'll become a shopping Mecca,” but the image of Mississippi LEO’s is in serious trouble right now so said police would have to be highly trained, or Mississippi will again be a laughing stock with the Feds back down here (that is if they ever leave).

The Goon Squad has put Mississippi in not just the national, but the world spotlight and rendered our credibility worthless. Most watching this blog have seen the frighting display of drunken unprofessionalism from another LEO at Flag Island just this past weekend. And word has it an obese deputy displayed total unprofessionalism and threatened to arrest two attorneys on the Rankin court house steps last week during the John Sullivan trial.

It's been stated that Gluckstadt LEO’s are speed trapping, has a gung-ho judge that has the hard working Madison County tax payers show up on their court date and given a choice (not by the gung-ho judge, but by a Gluckstadt employee) of either pleading guilty, or having to take off from work, again, and make yet another court appearance in front of said judge, while the Gluchstadt employee is making it clear the gung-ho judge is not going to rule in the defendant’s favor (even the dysfunctional City of Jackson has a judge and prosecutor present on the one trip court date). The Gluckstadt judge’s Linkedin page allegedly states he’s a “criminal defense” attorney, which, if correct, will be a perfect text book example of typical lawyer hypocrisy.

Former Madison Sherriff Toby Trowbridge and current Madison Sherriff Randy Tucker are class acts with a fine group of Madison deputies so they might be able to pull it off; and the City of Madison appears to run a top notch police department as well. Otherwise, best to just stay away from Northpark Mall.

@8:04 AM - Try to keep up. There will be officers on foot patrol within the mall starting on Friday.

9:01 AM, what you have described was the way Florence ran their court for a long time. Also one judge told everyone in the courtroom if women wore pants to court they would be found guilty automatically. Men were threatened also. Florence police even had their radar guns taken away from them because they were a speed trap.

given the type of stores at northpark, i'm really not surprised by this. with the exception of dillards, there is no reason for most people to go there.

Good grief, 10:20PM. Something broke off of something based on a bullet hitting something and that broken piece hit somebody. Seems a lot easier to just refer to it as shrapnel and everyone knows what it means...

Anonymous said...

It's been stated that Gluckstadt LEO’s are speed trapping ...

No "traps". Gluckstadt PD merely enforcing speed laws where Tucker's deputies for years and years were not. The haphazard growth allowed by the MadCo Board of Sups is where your bony finger should be pointed.

When we sold our house in Yazoo City and moved 10 years ago a friend of mine laughingly joked about the sale "bet you didn't get what you wanted". My reply "no but we didn't get what we would have taken either". The town has been in a spiral for 20 years+ and there seems to be no bottom. It was a wonderful place to be raised and to raise our own family.

Judge Trae Sims. Botched the Clayton Kelly case when a Madison muni prosecutor. Caught him lying more than once when he was an attorney for DPS. Remember those days when he whined JJ was "targeting" MHP? Now he is a judge in ways reminiscent of Judge Jones in Flowood.

North park should convert over to serving “members only”. Frankly, when we decide to go on the offense, we will sign up and support businesses that serve private members that can pass a background check. The rest can go somewhere else.

6:08: "The whole state is lost. Just another generation or so and Jokeway will be governor. Get out while you still can get something for your house."

This. I fully understand that MS has a unique culture and (some) great people, but: it's over. It's past time to leave. There are many places to live, and virtually all of them are better. There's only one Chokwe and Jackson. Jackson is the worst of the worst, and now Ridgeland and Yazoo and most everywhere else. There is no valid reason to stay there.

I don't feel sorry for anyone who stays there. But don't be in denial about it. That entire state has been done for some time now.

5:17, there IS one bright spot. The rest of the country is going to Hell in a handbasket. People even worse than the worst Mississippians, are pouring into the country, and they're being sent to destroy all the places Mississippians have traditionally fled-to (Seattle, Portland, Austin...). They aren't sent to Mississippi, as much, because of Mississippians (a great many of whom pose very real threats - especially to people from outside the state and the 'states'.

Yeah, Seattle and Portland and Austin are still better than Mississippi. But considering how fast they've been destroyed, they may not remain better for long.

10:40 AM, like Sheriff Trowbridge before him Sheriff Tucker and his deputies are class acts that have done an excellent job for Madison County. Don’t know how we could do any better at all.

Not sure what the “MadCo Board of Sups” has to do with Gluckstadt’s joke court violating the civil liberties of American citizens, but with Steen being the 3rd Democrat Supervisor out of 5 there’s no doubt Madison County has serious problems. What’s interesting about Steen is the almost certainty that Ridgeland Mayor Gene Magee could easily get behind a real Republican to replace him, but chooses not do so. What does this tell us?

So “JUDGE” Trae Sims, that, according to his Linkedin profile is a “former prosecutor/law enforcement general counsel and litigator who uses his experience, skill and knowledge of the criminal justice and regulatory system to provide aggressive, results-focused representation to clients who are individuals and entities charged with state or federal crimes, civil regulatory violations or facing investigation,”

is pretty much “claiming” on the one hand, to be a staunch civil libertarian “Criminal Defense” attorney that will fight for the rights of his clients charged as real criminals, but then on the other hand runs a joke Gluckstadt court system of telling hard working, no previous criminal record, tax paying contributors to society to show up and be told, not by the judge, but a Gluckstadt employee, to pay the “speeding ticket” fine or take off from work again and come back, but when you do, “Judge Tough Guy” isn’t going to rule in your favor???

BWAHAHAHAHAHA…that’s no “Judge” - a middle school aged child could do this. Funny but not surprising at all if you’ve read Kings of Tort and/or The Fall of the House of Zeus.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
