Eating birds raw, Billy Graham, and neurosurgeons. The late Dr. Frank Pollard used them all as he discussed angels in the 1995 sermon posted below. Are they winged beings of cartoon fare, spirits, protectors, or something else? Enjoy Dr. Pollard's preaching as he answers the question "What are angels?"
Thought it might be interesting to compare the different version of the scripture quoted in the sermon, Hebrews 1:13-14.
NIV: of which of the angels did God ever say, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet. (14) Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
KJV: But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? (14) Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
1599 Geneva: Unto which also of the Angels said he at any time, Sit at my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? (14) Are they not all [z]ministering spirits, sent forth to minister, for their sakes which shall be heirs of salvation?
Dr. Pollard obviously does not use this book in his sermons but the book of Enoch has some rather interesting discussions on angels.

A great sermon. He uses the beautiful passages of the Old Testament to effect. However, Jesus is the new way. Unfortunately many old testament christians use all of the vengeful and reprehensible passages of the old testament to twist their logic and politics. Christianity is apolitical.
Jesus’ god is not a vengeful god. He is inclusive (I know it’s a bad word), forgiving, and merciful. The thought that a hindu or muslim that essentialy practice oJesus’ behaviors cannot enter heaven is preposterous . My god is a merciful god that embraces merciful people who practice inclusion and forgiveness.
Live by the new book, and throw the old book away (or ask your jewish friends what they think the OT means)
Love one another.
