The hunt is on for a saboteur. JXN Water Manager Theodore Henifin said someone is intentionally sabotaging Jackson's water system by opening fire hydrants.
Mr. Henifin said the fire hydrants in a pattern that causes the water system in a specific area to lose a great deal of pressure. In other words, the hydrants are opened by someone who knows exactly where to hit the water system. One such act of sabotage took place the night before the first of school earlier this month.
Call (601) 500-5200 to report open fire hydrants in Jackson.

Alex , I’ll take “Sister Rukia for $1000”
I'm all in for a good conspiracy theory, but no one in chuckway's camp got enough sense, nor the drive, to pull this off.
Should narrow the list of suspects.
or contractors/consultants who lost out when the big switch was made.
My vote is for the MS Rapid Relief Co (MRRC) or better know as "the Sisters" as they DEMANDED the EPA to make JXN Water pay for their services. No problems with the system, means no need to pass out water, so no contract for them.
Henefin is doing a fine job...HE actually gets things done!
Lamumba and his crew have never DONE anything, in my opinion...
"Sacre Bleu! A saboteur!
Let the Jackson police use the Real Time Command Center to find the criminals!
It's that simple.
"Jackson unveils Real Time Command Center that draws upon 600 cameras around the city November 19, 2020."
Assuming it doesn't get stolen, a couple of well-placed cell cam game cameras could solve this one. I bet the one's opening the hydrants, aren't the ones with the grudge though. It's time to hire Socrates Garret hydrant monitoring services. He probably won't do anything about it, but he still needs his cut.
This could be considered a federal crime. Critical Infrastructure.
Used to be juvenile hoodlums would go around doing this, but they’ve moved on to robbing convenience stores and carjacking these days
My pressure is so low in Fondren that I can’t run the sprinklers. We can use the showers and wash dishes but can basically only water a shrub at a time.
Firefighters upping pressure on City for their raise.
Can someone check Rukia's car to see if there is a hydrant wrench in the trunk?
Will the last person leaving Jackson please turn off the hydrants?
Someone's going to wind up in federal court.
This is simple.
Ted gives a $500 cash reward for camera footage of people opening these hydrants. Cameras are literally everywhere, and he is not serious about stopping this unless he takes advantage of that.
12:05 & 12:11 y’all are correct more than likely
@ "This could be considered a federal crime. Critical Infrastructure."
What infrastructure?
This seems like something that could be easily solved but will it? Doubtful

Good Lord. This is downright comical. Do I have any proof that the Mayor or his sister or their supporters are doing this ? No. But do I have any doubt in my mind that they are responsible for this ? No.
The Mayor expected the feds to give him the $800 million to spend, but they didn't He and his sister then asked Judge Wingate to remove Henifin and appoint one of their own, but he didn't. Now they're going to do whatever they can to make try to Mr Henifin look bad and try to get him removed some other way. But make no mistake, even assuming hypothetically that Judge Wingate was to remove Henifin for some reason, there is no way in hell that he would turn the system back over to the Mayor and his cronies. He already noted in his last Order that they were the ones who failed to maintain and repair the system before and that he has no confidence they can do it now.
Moreover, any idiot knows that it is not Mr Henifin or his employees who are going around and opening the hydrants in an attempt to sabatage their own work and the progress they've made and that it has to be some third party doing it. So, even if the system was to fail as a result of the hydrants being opened, the judge isn't going to blame Mr Henifin.
My God,there really are some stupid, stupid people in this city. And not just stupid, but evil too for doing something that could once again deny the people of Jackson running water.
It's my understanding that the Real Time Command Center is just that - it cannot store info. That means someone has to literally be watching that camera to catch a crime occurring. In other words, it's basically worthless.
I’ll make sure you firefighters get a raise but I’m gonna need a little sumpin in return.
this is absolutely disgusting behavior. I have said it before and I will say it again, politics, history, race, income aside, these acts as well as poor city management in the name of politics have little to no effect on upwardly mobile 20 somethings.
This shit has a profound effect on elderly people and children.......
folks should be ashamed of themselves and I hope if and when they catch who did this, they bury their sorry asses under the jail.
The clown Rukia Kai took with her to the meeting with Henifin where they claimed Henifin was doing it all wrong should be on the suspect list.
Great way to earn respect with Judge Wingate.

I got to say, I'm with 12:05 on this one.
Mr. Henifin ain't never seen no bullshit like this. Safe to say when he goes back north he will have whole new outlook on life.
Listen all of y'all it's SABOTAGE!!!
BOLO for Gremlins, from the Kremlin.
Honest question. There are so many cameras around on businesses and such, what about investigating camera locations with these open hydrant locations to see if any images were caught on tape?
It could be the firefighters.
Ever thought of this?
Since someone knows the right hydrants to open to do the most damage, I’m going with some rogue firefighter(s) on this one. If brains are a requisite, neither the mayor or his kin have gumption enough to pull this off. It’s a sad reflection on firefighters, though.
I have seen fire hydrants left running for more than two weeks at a time after water main breaks were fixed to clear the lines. It doesn’t take anywhere close to that length of time to clear the lines.
Please submit public comments to the EPA about the order to appoint Ted to manage and operate the City of Jackson's sewer system.
You can be sure that the same people sabotaging like this and creating "groups" that represent the "will of Jackson" are doing the same.
Submit Public Comments to EPA on Federal Order for Sewer Repair
You can submit comments via email to: pubcomment-ees.enrd@usdoj.gov
Need to submit them before 8/31/2023.
Wait? The fire hydrants actually work now?? How many news pieces have there been in recent years about responding JFD being unable to put water on the structures on fire due to lack of water pressure from hydrants.
Quid Pro Ladumbass seeks raises for firefighters, who...
@3:11 I can’t stand it, I know you planned it. I have been singing that all day after opening this thread!
To those who suggest cameras could tell us who is the person watering the land I have this reminder. Do you remember the nooses hanging in the trees in Jackson? Cameras were all over the place than also. We were assures the person would be caught quickly. What happened? I have never heard of anyone showing up on the cameras. Does anyone have any idea what happened or who showed up on those cameras?
I am pretty sure kf will not allow this post as it has been asked many times and I haven't seen it get posted or any answer to who the cameras caught.
9:00 am no water ...... my street multiple fixes ... wow glad fixing but hate not knowing when no water ... dont blame Ted ... glad he getting job done!
Lumumba has a water crisis this time last year, so Henifin has to have one too, or it isn't equitable.
In response to the people (or person) trying to deflect suspicion onto the firefighters:
Ted Henifin has nothing to do with the salaries of City of Jackson employees. So, would stand to gain by making him look bad? Perhaps the guy who wants to take control away from Henifin so that he may once again control who gets contracts?
I can't wait to hear what Judge Wingate has to say about this. I truly hope that someone gets charged with a federal crime over this and draws Wingate.
I’m curious why KF chose that particular movie scene instead of Beastie Boys - Sabotage
to 12:34 pm on Aug 23rd. Your Fondren problems would be solved if you purchased the house for sale across the street from me in Reunion, and you would be neighbors with several of the ex-Fondrenites living in the neighborhood.
Come on folks, someone is just celebrating the anniversary of the water crisis. Right?
