"Disgusting"

Governor Tate Reeves issued the following statement about the Michael Corey Jenkins case:

Frankly, I am disgusted by the conduct to which these individuals admitted in their pleas, and I fully condemn their actions. These actions by a few are not representative of Mississippi’s law enforcement community who work every day to keep Mississippians safe. Many have done their job to ensure justice is served in this case, and the guilty pleas prove that Mississippi’s criminal justice system works.

You know you are going to jail for a LONG time

when the governor himself comments on it

and rightfully so, I know rankin has a bad rap especially with this case and now John Sullivans trial officially beginning yesterday, BUT most of us are good decent respectable people, JUST LIKE JACKSON

We all know this was a disgusting an meaningless act. However it’s really, really a shock to some of y’all when they we’re caught and pleaded guilty!

Not one of these morons had the sense to say, I ain’t taken no part in this and I am gone!

They remind me of little kids playing cops and robbers. I bet they even had a little code ring. Any self respecting law officer should have known better than to hire these little bullies. I might see one slipping through the cracks but there is no excuse for a group of them.

actually many MS law enforcement professionals are like this (bullies) because the law is on their side (implied immunity). Remember the guy that was at various public spots along the coast protesting with a sign saying to support homeless vets using his first amendment rights, and most of the police officers of the various jurisdictions were going to arrest him if he did not stop. Only the Gautier PD chief recognized the man had a right to free speech.

Officials from Rankin getting a little nervous and distancing themselves a bit?

I typically defended LEO in the past, but I hate to admit I think I have reached my limit.
I don't doubt there are still some decent cops, but yall decent ones better start shouting about the bad ones BEFORE this shit hits the fan if you want the general public to have any faith in you.
The silence is easily interpreted as tacit support of this behavior and Bailey can forget it if he thinks there are enough blindly racist conservatives in Rankin to tolerate this BS.

I’m sure Tate has received a bit of Intel about all the civil asset forfeiture. He probably knows there will be a lot more controversy to come. The Goon Squad was very profitable for the RCSO. While they didn’t do press releases for the money they seized, I’m sure it was still a substantial amount even after the Goon Squad (and anyone else) took their cut of the lucre.

11:20 Law enforcement officers are definitely not perfect. This Jeffrey Gray guy, the so called "protester" you reference, is nothing more than a traveling lawsuit creator pretending to be some simple concerned citizen worried about homeless vets. This could not be any further from the truth. He goes to small town city halls around the southeast trying to provoke a response from any city employee. If he gets his way it will be from a policeman. Then he does one of his YouTube video for his dumbed down haters. The law firms he works with will file a lawsuit with hopes of extracting a settlement prior to any court trial. One judge in Florida called Gray's actions "a baiting gesture meant to achieve personal financial gain and is nothing more than a scam". Gautier was warned about this scammer prior to his arrival.

wrong again tater...........

its mississippi's FEDERAL criminal justice system that works........

not the state's............

had this matter been left to the state, the goon squad would still be operating

Sheriff did know or should have known. Lower echelon LEOs/Deputies in Rankin County who suspected may have been intimidated into silence, fearing violence to themselves or their families.

I personally know a K9 patril deputy with dog "Voodoo" who makes a lot of drug busts on I20. He is an effective, intelligent, honorable even gentle human being. He should be the new sherrif.

The problem with this "Goon Squad" is that they have lost their compassion for their fellow man. The majority who wear the badge have pure hearts of servitude and will continue to remain vigilant in serving the communities in which they live and work in. What happened is a stain that sets back the LE profession decades. I urge you to support the TRUE peacekeepers, the ones still out there weathering this storm trying to pick up the pieces moving forward. And yes....my son is a law enforcement officer and I'm quoting him.

Yes @anoymous 1:08. The federal criminal Justice system did the right thing. This state would never have lifted a finger. Rankin County has been getting away with abuse of citizens for a very long time.

1:29 and the world. The feds will be all over this. ALL OVER IT. A perfect narrative for the democrat game plan. Get ready.

That the gubner finally issued a statement only proves he reads this blog and saw the many posts criticizing his silence.

This is not the first time these officers committed a crime. This was not their first rodeo. The entire Rankin police and sheriff offices need to be investigated by the FBI and this racism and injustice in this state needs to be put to a halt. All the dirty deeds up to the governor needs to be investigated. Mississippians deserve better. The cops who uphold the law and were friends with these officers need to choose a side and stop with the blind support of the blue. If you know this is going on and don’t stop it or report it your guilty as well and deserve to be fired. This mess keeps Mississippi in the 50s and 60s mentality. No wonder we score last for everything. Our Government is nothing more than a bunch of good ole boys carrying out their own type of justice, same guys that love to claim that we are a land of laws. What a freaking joke. Embarrassing for the entire state and I bet everyone of these officers is an upstanding christain in their church. Do better.

They did not wake up and decide that for their first act of abuse of power to employ dildos.
This is a disgusting act that they have fine tuned, abusing many...without a doubt.
I hope they know the residents despise them and want them to rot in prison.

As another noted, you dumb racist rednecks have given the liberal media world the story it craved to support the narrative they push.

You deserve to have your lives ruined and I hope you cry yourselves to sleep in a cell for the rest of your days. Hope it was worth it. All you had to do was be bare-bones decent. Not saviors...just decent humans. You are useless failures and I hope Bailey knows he is going down too.

Anonymous said...

8:55. If Bailey thinks he will survive this, as much as I personally like him, he needs a brain enema. The captain goes down with the ship, and all of these rednecks and anybody aware of this sick, SICK crap are going down. The DOJ will have the deposition floodlights in the eyes of every swinging dick out there.

I have experienced 2 federal investigations myself. These morons have no idea and the house of cards will implode and fingers will tire from pointing.

I am with you 10:33. I always like Bailey personally but that does not mean I will defend him here. He damn sure deserves to go down with this ship.

And interesting about your personal experience with the Feds. I figured they were a thorough and relentless bunch, and I genuinely hope they do wear these goons out. All of them.

Anonymous said...

A lot of old cases are getting examined by the FBI. More goons will be charged.

The Governor did not issue a statement per social media or a blast email. WLBT and this website contacted his office for a statement. That is the statement he sent us.

I'm sure there are a few people wishing they had signed up to run for sheriff. There is where the chin rubbing starts. You would think as bad as this is more people in the law enforcement community would have known about the goon squad. Is all of Rankin Law enforcement complicit or complacent in this? Did the rest of the law enforcement community think they were going to continue to get away with this type stuff? For that many people to do that type stuff and think they were going to get away with it is crazy? There is no way the sheriff did not know about this. NO WAY. I can see a federal indictment looming in the future for some people.

10:33 - It's not at all difficult to survive a deposition, assuming the deposed has walkin' around sense.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
