We all knew ole Socrates was going to get an award.
Did Chuck award himself anything??
what have they done?
What is One JXN?
What in the hell??
why would you have an awards banquet for a water crisis?
Was an award given to Tater and the State of MS for actually resolving the crisis by bringing in a qualified team to repair the O.B. Curtis treatment plant? Just wondering.
Look at all the pastors, churches, and Revs. Probably a few clergy sprinkled about.
9:41 - reading comprehension isn't for everyone. They provided lots of water to people without water.
Where is Ted Heffin's award for actually fixing the problems?
What about the construction company that stepped in and worked around the clock to get it fixed? They just awarding the local grifters? That seems about right. Chokwe, Rukia, and everyone associated with them or any of their organizations is a clown.
One JXN is another astroturf organization efforting to mislead the community and the gullible content-starved TV Newsers.
What is a misdirecting commemoration of a crisis directly attributable to the massive incompetencies of the Lumumba administration if it is not an effort of public deception?
9:55. The BOZO'S are attempting to control their dismal narrative....and the dumbed down electorate left in the sh*thole will buy it.
Where is my award for the hard work I did to pay taxes and dump them into the shithole that is Jackson?
Isn't "MS PoorPeoples' Campaign" a Rukia Rabble Rouser outfit?
I looked at the list before I read the article. I first thought it was a list of the con artists and grifters in Jackson. After reading the article I knew I was right.
What we have here is a self-licking ice cream cone.
During this time you couldn’t find any distilled water in Richland, Pearl, Brandon, and Flowood. Plenty of regular bottled water but these people bought up all the distilled water. Why in heavens name buy up the distilled water? That stuff leeches the minerals from your bones and teeth! I only use it with my CPAP. Never drink the stuff!
Well, it seems very few commenting have ever volunteered their time, labor, or skills, to help out in a crisis or done more than write a check to charitable organization or buy a ticket to a charity fundraising party with entertainment and food. In a water crisis, it's not JUST toting bottled water to designated pickup sites. And, just showing up once and handing out water wouldn't get you honored at a banquet and since you don't know jack about charitable work or fund raising, you also don't know how the banquets to honor anyone would be handled.
Some of you are so self-centered and hard to get along with and unpleasant, you don't understand how it's possible anyone whose not exactly like you get honored, included, rewarded unlike they are white or rich. If you are both, it's no guarantee you'll be invited or even anyone you invited to anything would want to attend. There are many white folks with loads of money that nobody likes so they invite employees to their parties and just lengthened those poor invitees' workday when they'd rather have overtime.
Well then, I can’t wait till the summer of 2024 when the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office hands out the “Goonies” .
What is a misdirecting commemoration of a crisis directly attributable to the massive incompetencies of the Lumumba administration if it is not an effort of public deception?

@ 10:55
thank you for that bunch of nonsense
I was having a bad day, felt stupid, read that, and now I feel ok about myself
Damn. Seems like Henifin tried to cover all the 'bases' in the Bold New City, but he failed to list the real champions:
MS State Department of Health; could name some specific individuals including the few that spent 18 hour days at the treatment plants.
Or the State Health Officer who brought the impending disaster (caused by the flood???) to the Governor's office five days before the flood, knowing that the City had not repaired the broken pumps and the failure was imminent.
OR MAYBE, just maybe, the Governor who stepped up and managed the disaster caused by the ineptness of the city. Some folks blame the Governor for letting the disaster happen - not accepting the fact that in every other city -- large and small -- the water systems are run by local entities, NOT BY THE STATE.
But in Jackson's case, the State had to step in and take over so that the residents could not only have daily drinking watter (the city's so-called distribution of bottled water was not enough to provide one bottle per household for a single neighborhood, as opposed to the 11 million bottles distributed once the Governor stepped in.
How about the folks at MEMA who movilized forces from around the country to come to Jackson and get the Curtis plant in operation.
No, none of those folks need recognizing because they aren't pastors of the kush or community organizers.
Must be this is an effort to improve the 'transparancy' that Sista' says didn't exist; so give her and all hers an award hoping they will go away.
Frist Baptist Church Jackson gave out many pallets of Dasani water during the water crisis. They weren't invited to the table. Wonder why? "Maybe", because of the racial makeup of the congregation.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Northtown Pharmacy is good people.
It was the Mississippi National Guard that saved the citizens of Jackson!!!
A one year anniversary of a 10 year old problem?
It Figgers that Frank got a trophy.
10:55 sounds pretty racist.
Are there no wealthy black people that nobody likes, hosting employee parties that employees begrudgingly attend in lieu of OT cash?
I wonder who paid for this free meal and party for their buddies? It's almost like a free campaign dinner disguised as an awards banquet. I would be interested to know what all went on and what was served and who was "hired" to cater?
Andy Boone is also good people runs 311.
My water utility sent workers to OB Curtis to help get it back operating. We were requested to do so. We haven't gotten a simple "thank you" from anyone at the City.
“ with loads of money that nobody likes so they invite employees to their parties and just lengthened those poor invitees' workday when they'd rather have overtime”
Is that what Sista did in this awards meeting, with her pseudo astroturf organizations?
In honor of the parody post @August 31, 2023 at 10:55 AM, I would like to nominate it for post of the day. What? You don't think that was intended to be a parody post? Well, it sure reads like one.
8/31 @11:37
Good point!
This administration picks and chooses who they feel best serves their agendas, I mean the poor people.
Where is Mr.Henefin ‘s award? He came in and actually did something to correct the water problem. What is with these people who celebrate folks that uphold the ones that talk and talk and never arrive at a workable solution
Was 10:55 the Lil Choke administration's obfuscation and subterfuge to dilute Gov Reeves' masterful leadership? How does enabling already bloated bureaucrats, grifters and pulpit hustlers to chow on a buffet line full of fried food and mac-n-cheese change what really caused the water (and ongoing sewer) crises? Which was lazy,
neglectful, radical marxist weasels and wastrels.
When will the sewer crisis and garbage crisis be held? I would like to have a front row seat. Wonder if your enter the awards show on a red carpet or a brown carpet?
Everyone wins a trophy - that's right out of the Marxist playbook. Right Chowke?
@11:25 this was not a party hosted by Henifin. He wasn't even invited.
@3:22 PM has a firm grasp on the obvious.
@3:22 -- thank you for the correction. I saw One Jxn and mistook it for JxnWater. Bad mistake. Bad!!
Makes much more sense now - this is the kush's award ceremony, thanking those that fit their mold.
Little did these people who did whatever - passed out water, provided water, or provided a place to pass out water provided by someone - know that the EPA order from two years earlier REQUIRED that the City of Jackson prepare a plan and implement ALL NECESSARY STEPS to provide potable drinking water to ALL residents if there were ever a failure of the system as the one that occurred during the ice storm.
THE CITY'S PLAN?? It didn't have one. It didn't prepare one (as required by the EPA order). And if it had prepared one, it did nothing to implent the non-existent plan.
What they put into place was to deliver a pallet of water - once a day - to a fire station. A pallat of bottled water that they got donated by local distributors.
One pallet - probably conains 60 or so 24 bottle cases - maybe 1,500 bottles of water. One every day. to provide water for the 153,000 residents of Jackson.
Hell, kinda like the same plan the city has to run the zoo. Or maybe more like the plan the city has to open the old county jail as a misdemeanor holding facility.
Yeah - the Bold city should be proud of the 'accomplishments' of some citizens after its failed management of the water system, and its failure to prepare and be able to implement a required EPA order - left the entire population without one of life'smost basic needs.
Glad we have a ONE Jxn on hand to give us this entertainment.
I’m flabbergasted EPA wasn’t given a special award for bringing the problem to Antar’s attention about a year before the crisis.
Winchester Street ...wom we got the worst.. glad Ted here
Textbook delusions of grandeur.
The only thing Jackson leadership is good at, slamming Cadillac doors and giving each other awards.
Keep seething bigots. Your apoplectic unhinged rage fuels our movements success.
6:43 Please share with us any of those successes. We're sincerely pulling for some.
11:34PM, you forgot one other thing, changing the names of streets.
