JPD arrested Kemarshon Cassity yesterday for the murder of 11 year-old Jordan McCoy. Cassity was already a suspect in a double shooting at the Westin Hotel in March. He was already out on bond when he allegedly committed both crimes.
A Hinds County grand jury indicted Cassity in December for forgery. The indictment states he allegedly issued a phony $3,157 check to Money Man on 4392 North State Street. Money Man is a check-cashing business. Cassity posted bond.
Interested in obtaining a criminal education, Cassity allegedly graduated to aggravated assault. A drive-by shooting took place in front of the Westin Hotel on March 23. Several bullets struck the federal courthouse across the street. WLBT tweeted these photos.
JPD arrested Cassity on April 7 and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault. Bond was set at $100,000 but the suspect posted and was released. The District Attorney moved to revoke his bond on the forgery indictment on April 8. Circuit Judge Faye Peterson revoked his bond on April 14.
The murder of little Jordan took place early in the morning of April 6 at the Brerwood Apartments. Writing bad checks to drive by shootings to shooting up federal courthouses to killing children. This thug really (allegedly) hit for the cycle.

Kudos to JPD for identifying and arresting this dangerous man. He will now wait in jail to see if his sentence is the death penalty or life without parole. He will never kill another child in Jackson.
They'll let him out so he doesn't die of COVID
It's too bad this guy will be fed and housed by the taxpayers for the rest of his life. Wish the liberals would spend more time worrying about starving kids in the U.S. instead of repeat criminals.
Lord I hope not 1:24. It's not the police that let out these people. We must set bond higher to prevent their mayhem on the public. God please help us to get crime an drugs under control. Amen.
Height: 503
Seems like he might've been compensating for something. Instead of being perceived as tough, he will spend the rest of his miserable life branded a child murderer.
He should've become an attorney or a stock broker instead. Being rich and successful makes you feel 10 feet tall.
2:29, God has given us plenty of resources to deal with crime and criminals like this. If those in charge of administering justice fail to do their jobs (like a 100k bond) they have the innocent victims' blood on their hands.
Can't believe Kingfish doesn't refer to the victim as LITTLE Jordan McCoy.
2:29
Yep... used to do that publically at (either) sunrise, or noon, within days of conviction.
Who really gives a shit? Answer: Nobody!
Fine work, JPD.
Now, let’s make sure the alleged perpetrators are given the appropriate sentence for their crimes.
