That's GREAT news. Now if he can get all of his supporters to come back to the polls and Waller can do the same, Tate can just go home where he belongs.

Anonymous said...

Somebody unwrap the foil and stick a fork in Tater because he is DONE!

Anonymous said...

Waller has an extremely uphill climb. Tater can just coast to a win. He has way too much funding from the fat cats for favors in the past and expected influence in the future. The almighty dollar rules.

Anonymous said...

Very stupid move politically... why did he have to endorse anyone ? AND I voted for Waller !!!

Louis LeFleur said...

One can always hope! It's time for Tate to go home, and preferably back into banking and out of politics.

@9:42 AM - Spot on! I personally think that Mr. Foster is a good man but doesn't yet have name recognition.

Maybe that's because he didn't try to have a private blvd. built from a shopping center to his gated subdivision, and he doesn't talk out of both sides of his mouth, and isn't a blow-hard.

I always take directions from a loser: it has worked well for me through the years.

Anonymous said...

I am glad he stuck to his principles!! Take that Tater! LMAO!!

Judging by some of the comments of Tate’s most ardent supporters on social media, TeamTate is worried. Very Worried!

Divine sanction, all I need to know as an informed voter!

Tate has promoted hate and bullying. This is the karma due him

As a former member of the 210th Finance of the Mississippi National Guard, I had the opportunity to meet General Waller for the first time at Fort Hood 20 plus ago. He was there to check on Soldiers under his Command and again I talked to him in May at Camp Shelbys yearly retiree day.Thru my observation, on both occasions he was very pleasant and attentive to all the Soldiers he came in contact with.

Very few attain the rank of General and General Waller is the exception. I usually vote Democrat, however in the General election, I will vote for the Man that served our Great Country and this Great State.

Vote Waller in runoff!
We can skin this Tater!
Momentum can be a powerful thing!
We can do this folks!!

I agree Mr. Foster has a future in Mississippi politics. United States Senator perhaps? So glad he endorsed Justice Waller. This shows me that integrity (Justice Waller and Mr. Foster) trumps (no pun intended) dollars. Thank you Mr. Foster. Will await my opportunity to vote for you at some point in the future.

Anonymous said...

If Republicans in this state are serious about winning in November, they need to dump Tater now and go with Waller.

Anonymous said...

So when does the first poll come out?

Anonymous said...

Foster just demonstrated that he is a man to be counted among the future leaders of Mississippi and not just some political shill like you know who.
Do what is best, not what is politically expedient. That's leadership!

TheBestestBoys said...

Foster endorsed Waller because he wants a future in Mississippi politics. In order to have that future, he needs to get on board the Frontier Strategies candidate management machine. Look at Frontier's success rate. They may have a Johnny Black now and then, but they're winning 10 campaigns for every one that they lose. And they're everywhere - local, state and federal races.

Anonymous said...

Tate wins by 13 points. Mark my words.

Anonymous said...

Tater should not have counted his chicken nuggets before they hatched.

MS Banker said...

The question I have now is will Fosters constituency fall in line between Waller?

Anonymous said...

I look forward to voting for Foster in the future. If I had not known Waller personally, I would've voted for Foster. I am so impressed with him. He is extremely sharp and made a great choice in Waller. He should go after a Senate or House seat very soon. He has my vote.

Stupid JJ Trolls said...

Foster's done. Sgt. NO-to-Everything Bomgar could have done just as poorly. Foster offered nothing anyway. His #MeToo avoidance moment with a gay reporter will be his claim to fame, not his impulsive run for Governor. Foster never had remotely a chance and showed what a fool he is to even enter the race. To conclude that Waller is the 2nd choice of Foster voters is as laughable as the half-dozen trolls here on JJ who think they are fooling readers with their spam comments repeating the same garbage ad nauseam. Foster will never win statewide or for Congress unless he goes back to the Legislature and earns some real bonafides.

I drive 25000 miles a year (more than average)
20 MPG = 1250 gallons/year
So basically for every cent the gas tax gets raised I pay $1/month to fix roads and bridges. And everyone else has to pay it too not just rich people?

Who is this foster and what is he wallering in?

The Little Emperor is not going to be pleased.

Spooner is your next sheriff.

Bomgar is toast.

Tate is done. Some of you people make me laugh when I think about the little world your mind is in.

Richard Gozinya, Jr. said...

@1:13 PM - exactly. Waller and Foster want to raise the gas tax, and either eliminate or significantly reduce the state income tax. This makes MS more competitive and attracts talent and new business.

Gas taxes are much fairer than income tax, but the whiners on here have their head up their behinds.

If you not part of the solution, you are the problem. Waller and Foster have solutions that will work.

Anonymous said...

3:45, they want to raise gas tax, reduce income tax, yes, but they also want to spend more on Medicaid and pay teachers more. The math don’t add up. This would decimate community colleges across our state.

Anonymous said...

@1:13 dont start talking common sense. its way more fun to act like the gas tax will bankrupt citizens. If a bridge is shut down and you have to go around it will cost more than that. if you smash a pothole and need a new tire it will cost way more than that. Tater pot wants the roads to crumble apparently.

Anonymous said...

3:28, try to catch up. Bomgar beat Bartley by 11 points, and this district usually votes Republican in the general.

Richard, what happens to the general fund when the income tax is eliminated or significantly reduced? How is the state government supposed to operate?

I'll go ahead and put my head back up my behind while you contemplate.

Anonymous said...

1:13 I was sitting in Bob Waller's office at 2 this afternoon. Tate is using that tax raise crap to beat Bill to death with it. Simple math 12,000 miles a year national average drive. 20 MPG average fuel economy. 600 gallons used a year times .05 cents a gallon gas tax raise. Equals $30 a year. Same as the cost to take a family of 4 to McDonald's.
Hit one good pothole on the highway = $75 for a new tire, if your lucky. This is math everyone can understand. Damn Bill, use the KISS principal to get your message out!

Anonymous said...

Bob Waller is a certifiable nut job. Bill would be wise to keep him on an extremely short leash. Better yet Bill, keep him at home in his crate until the runoff is over.

12:15 p.m. You are wrong.

OhNoMrBill said...

Be careful #NOPlanBill listening to these napkin mathematicians. Every household only has one vehicle, right? LOL

According to United States Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration (2018), Americans now drive an average of 13,476 miles per year.
.....
Here’s a list of the 10 states people drive the most.

Wyoming with an average of 21,821 miles
Georgia with an average of 18,920 miles
Oklahoma with an average of 18,891 miles
New Mexico with an average of 18,369 miles
Minnesota with an average of 17,887 miles
Indiana with an average of 17,821 miles
Mississippi with an average of 17,699 miles
Missouri with an average of 17,396 miles
Kentucky with an average of 17,370 miles
Texas with an average of 16,347 miles

Increase the gas tax 3 cents, 5 cents, ... let's face it. Waller is #NOPlanBill.

Anonymous said...

Yes, most houses have more than 1 vehicle. Still, 60-100 dollars a year isn’t a big deal for any of those households. What’s the tot’s plan? On anything? Less taxes and more private roads? What’s his plan on anything that excites people? More for community college job training, yes, that’s great. It really is, but we can do more. I’d bet my bottom gas dollar that Tater wishes he had a do over on the gas tax idea.

Only in Mississippi, does one call a man that is a General in the State's National Guard and served as Chief Justice on the States Supreme Court, a nut job?

But they can probably justify why they voted for the habitual liar in chief, better known as Donald Trump in the same breath!?

Let me help you. Bob is the brother of Bill. Bob was not on the Supreme Court. He was a city judge for Jackson. How was he a judge in Jackson, because the Waller's are big time Democrats. No Republican has been a judge in Jackson in a very long time.

What is scary is that some folks really believe that Bill Waller is a Republican.

I am not a big Tate fan, as many are not, however he is the only Republican in this race and that is a fact.

I see a lot of folks on here saying raising the gas tax is ok. Well, Waller wants to do this, cut income tax and give teachers a raise and expand medicare. So when you vote for Waller don't get mad when you taxes go up for all he wants to do or that he doesn't do what he said because not enough money. He can't do all of this without raising taxes.

I will take my chances with Tate.

Anonymous said...

Waller is no Republican and those who vet their candidates can easily figure that out doing their research. As the CJ he stayed away from anything that may cost him HINDS County votes. All this talk about Hinds Counties Courts not doing their jobs could have been handled by Waller when he was the CJ but he doesn’t do controversy. He just accept his place as a part of Mississippi’s past fixtures.

When it comes to deciding which candidate gets my vote, I always take the advice of someone who already came in last in the race.

But, before the endorsement, I had long ago decided that Bill Waller, JR is the only candidate who will even make a dent of difference. If we want same ole same ole political gamesmanship and payoff games, Tater is your man. Why, it's quite possible we'll never even realize Bryant left the building.

Can you see Tate Reeves being taken seriously by any foreign company or even a stateside business looking at a place to locate? The only thing that would be more of a failure in the making is a guy named Chokwe Antar Lumumba wanting to be taken seriously at the negotiation table.

Anonymous said...

Tate has a serious problem. That campaign account, the chance at the US Senate, and a chance at a good, long deep breath have got to be weighing on his (and Elee's) mind. At this point basically it will cost Tate $5 mil or more of what is now HIS money to be the next guv.

On the other hand, I seriously doubt that the many Mississippians who didn't know who in the hell Waller was two weeks ago know any better today, save for maybe a handful of Foster voters, yet I suspect that essentially everyone who will actually vote in the runoff knows the name "Tate Reeves," for better or worse.

On top of which, there are numerous other offices, statewide and local, that will be in the runoff, so that'll put a moderately unpredictable spin on localized turnout. Sure, one could narrow it down with some deep-diving and expensive research, but it would just reduce the uncertainty rather than provide solid answers.

I'll still bet big that the runoff odds currently stand about 50-50 and back to a mere hint of tilt to Waller based on the assumption that 18% of the voters in the primary voted for Foster knowing he had no chance whatsoever (and likely some reasonable number of "anything for a change" voters) and now he has endorsed Waller. And at this point the campaign promises of either don't matter to about 95% of those who will actually vote in the runoff as they have made up their minds - it is remaining 5% or so who will actually vote and who Tate and Bill are trying to sway that will decide the runoff.

Another example why Mississippi comes up last on so many lists.

Why does this same nincompoop at 4:23 always show up, like a cockroach, to throw the name of Trump into every damned discussion. This Trump Fear Syndrome will cause this clown to die an early death of psychological disorder, anxiety and paranoia.

Can someone translate the drivel in the last paragraph @8:01 AM?

Anonymous said...

If someone reading this blog can post a personal account, or an account they heard firsthand from a friend or family member, of Tater personally doing something kind, nice, or benevolent for someone else that didn’t benefit him and wasn’t for PR or publicity, I’ll vote for him. But I work in and around politics, know him and a bunch of people who know him, and for years have been unable to find one such account. His response to the recent ICE raids, while legally accurate, showed his complete lack of empathy and compassion for his fellow man. I shudder to give such a person any more power than he has already wielded and abused as Lt Gov in this state.

Since Tate offers no solutions and has no plans, all that he can do is sling mud and twist the facts. Very sad.

Looks like Pillsbury Tater Boy is starting to sweat. We need Waller, as I fear that Jim Hood could beat Pillsbury Tater Boy. Remember - Hood beat a very well qualified AG candidate Mike Hurst 4 years ago. Dont underestimate

If Tate wins, it will be a sad day for my home state. I’m afraid it’s going to be another sad day for my home state.

Fascinating that Delbert's wife Lynn is all over Facebook touting Bill Waller. Do Waller and Dilbert have a deal no one knows about?

Anonymous said...

"... Do Waller and Dilbert have a deal..."

Naw. Two Mississippi lawyers making a deal so that each of them gets what they want and the clients (in this case, the citizens) get the leftovers? Such things are just wild conspiracy and fake news...

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
