QOU VADIS MISSISSIPPI! Forward or backwards again. When there's a clear choice in the statewide election, which we have this year, Mississippi always chooses backwards. I wish it weren't so clear then maybe we would accidentally get it right. No such luck..Tater will win.

Never Tater!!!

I voted for Waller and Taggart. I am a Trump conservative, but feel that those were the two best candidates despite the fact that I disagree with them on many issues. If they dont win, I will reluctantly vote for their opponents over the Dems.
For all those saying they would vote for Hood- what is Hood actually conservative on? And what type of appointments would he make if he had to for a US Senator or Supreme court justice? I am no Tate fan but I would rather him appoint ppl instead of Hood.
For all the people bashing MS being last and Reeves helping that- why dont y'all ever bash Lumumba and Jackson for being so bad? Y'all are such hypocrites.

@ 10:40
Your hating on Jackson... but, you voted for a citizen of Jackson. Waller... I'm a resident of Jackson and a Trump supporter also. I couldn't vote for anti trumper taggart... Delbert is nearly equally as bad. Certainly couldn't vote for Waller. Or tate. I wrote in a candidate.

@11:00 are you saying Waller is responsible for Jackson's problems? I am not. I can vote for a citizen of Jackson who I think would best be Gov. And I did... his name is Bill Waller. I am pointing out hypocrisy from #NeverTate crowd who is often silent when things go wrong in jackson and they never call out the democrats who make the problems worse.

Waller got my vote! said...

Waller
and
Taggart

A vote for Tater is problematic at its core. Mississippi has a lot of potential. Phil and Tater haven’t helped us reach our potential. It’s great to bring businesses but it defeats the purpose with these extended tax breaks.

Waller probably will lose, I hope I’m wrong. Unfortunately, we don’t have informed voters. We have people who listen to sound bites on radio and television.

If you like Trump tell me how his presidency is helping Mississippi. Any Mississippi politician who uses a picture of them and Trump is only out for themselves. Wake up!

Don’t be afraid of these buzz words and phases they are intended to scare you.

Let me say this - I have thoroughly enjoyed voting against Tate Reeves these last couple of weeks.

The only thing he cares about is the rich people in Mississippi, who pads his pockets, and out of town interest controlled by the Koch brothers. Its amazing how he sits up here and could say 300,000 MISSISSIPPIANS receiving health insurance is a bad idea!? I repeat he says with a straight face that 300,000 MISSISSIPPIANS receiving health care is a bad idea?

Now you have people like Arnie Hederman saying Waller is supported by the old republican guard that is stuck on the "old way of doing things" - so now we are supposed to believe Taint is a "progressive conservative" - you can't make this sh*t up!?

I agree with you @10:25am - When there's a clear choice in the statewide election, which we have this year, Mississippi always chooses backwards

Taint Reeves is the clear cut backwards choice. Can only campaign on dog whistle catch phrases instead of his own garbage record.

10:40 I didn't know we had people living on Mars! If you think Jackson and Lumumba don't get bashed here, or get a free ride, you must be Martian.

[AND] know-it-all egotist voters.

The Madison County Article on Lynn is precisely why she should not be AG, period.

Did anyone catch that Facebook live video from McDaniel last night? Was he drunk at the local Mexican restaurant? He was basically taunting people to prove him wrong(which he is). His quest for political relevance is comical.

If my voting machine was not rigged by Tate, Lynn, and the Russians, I voted for General Waller and Andy.

Gag me. Apparently you people don't know Andy Taggart. Everyone I know that knows Taggart is voting for Fitch.

Andy for Andy.

Agree 12:25 (comments are turned off on that post)..A lot of mention of Trustmark in that article- the fact of the matter , whether it is Finch or Tater before her, the state has allowed Trustmark to enjoy millions$ per year from the various state accounts in what is called a quid pro quo!

Voted Waller and Fitch.

Wish I could have also cast a vote for Lee Vance for Sheriff. Need an open primary system.

The Jim Prince Madison County Journal Editorial was infuriating. So much speculation, and he knows the damage even the headline can do. Thought he was above that kind of dirty politics. I've hated Andy's nasty television commercials as well.

The Fishy-est ad I've seen are the ones supposedly saying to vote for Taggart because we don't need a Trump-supporting AG (look to your right).

Fitch's managers must think voters are absolute idiots to fall for that.

Good article in the Madison paper about Fitch. I'm voting for Andy.

Tate will win!!!

Pete Perry is losing his mind over reports that democrats are crossing over and voting republican in the runoff. Haha, it seemed to be fine when they did it for Cochran.

Notice that Lynn's people put a pic of Mike Moore in the background with Andy.

We really have some bush league campaign managers in this state don't we?

@2:14 so true. They did not care when it happened for Thad... but now- oh no!

A friend asked if I had seen the Madison County Journal editorial that is posted on JJambalaya. I rushed to read it. That editorial demonstrates why Mississippi remains at the bottom of every quality-of-life metric.

The fake news in that story has no facts, only speculation and conjecture. Its purpose is to add chaos and confusion to a process that should be fair and open.

I have known Lynn since we worked together at the Attorney General's Office. She was one of the hardest working attorneys in that office. She embraced her role as a Public Servant. It was never just a job for Lynn. I have watched her evolve into one of the most experienced and capable statesmen I have observed in my 40 years of political engagement.

The editorial says that Lynn is ambitious and will likely use the AG's Office as a stepping stone to become Governor. I hope he is right! When Mississippi elects a woman governor, we will know (as will the world) that Mississippi has decided to show a side that should be extolled...the side that reveals fairness, compassion, intelligence, and acceptance and tolerance.

This fake news is the Old Mississippi...a desperate attempt to maintain the status quo. There is no place for it in our future.

I am elated to see that we have two excellent candidates in the Republican runoff for Attorney General and an equally capable Democrat as a challenger. Mississippi is getting ready to present its new face to world.

@2:53 I guess electing two female Lt. Governors and a female doesn't count.

Miss Gandy was elected back in the 1970s, far before most other states elected a woman to a statewide office.

Jim Prince also supported the Kemper power plant, so that tells you where he keeps his head. Hint-it's likely very dark.

Fitch's people must have been telling her she has a pretty comfortable lead to put up with the negative ads from Taggart without responding. I suspect they will be proven wrong (like lots of our "expert" campaign managers have been recently) and the decision will be second guessed. Taggart by 10 points.

I think Andy had a very good chance to win until he insulted all the voters by saying the legislature should change the state flag. I.E. the voters are too dumb to vote on this. It's fine if Andy wants to change the flag, but don't take away my right to vote on it. When they add up the votes and Andy loses, don't think for a minute that this wasn't a very giant mistake that cost him dearly.

Moral fibre? You stupid sumbitch, I invented moral fibre.

2:14, for whom are the Democrats voting? I suppose Tate, as Hood probably can't beat Waller.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
