JPD issued the following statement:
Jackson police are investigating a fatal shooting
that occurred in the 2300 block of Utah Street. It happened just after
11:30 pm yesterday evening.
Officers responded to a residence regarding a
shooting. When they arrived, officers found a black male inside of his
vehicle, parked at the rear of the residence. The victim was suffering
from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced
deceased at the scene.
Officers learned from witness account that a black
male was observed leaving the location in a light colored 4-door sedan.
The identity of the suspect is not known but it is believed that the
victim knew the suspect.
The victim is identified as 25 year-old, Andante Nelson.
Anyone with information about this incident is
urged to call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS(8477). A cash reward of up
to $2500 is possible if that information leads to an arrest.

A crackhead was shot. Nothing to see here.
Not great at math, but that's about 2 per week to-date. Summer usually brings higher homicide numbers. When life is not valued, it is not missed when taken away. We are slowly becoming a people who cannot self-govern. The government (and those of radical persuasion) love to see this and try to step in to take over many rights of self-governance.
