Today's version of "Hey y'all, watch this" up at Grenada Lake is posted below.
Idiots went down twice. The Grenada Star reported they face some "hefty fines." This was their "slide" when it was built. The structure is an emergency spillway to be used in case the water level at Grenada Lake gets too high.

Is this the opening of the Darwinian Festival?
How much is hefty? I’d pay $25 to do it at least
If they didn't want people to go down the slide, why did they build a slide?
BFD! It's kids being kids. Do you want to live in a "nanny state?"
No harm, no foul. Lighten up Francis!!!!!
A helmet would prob be a good idea but otherwise looks safe enough. Fo sho fun. How much is the fine? Prob better value than the fair.
Anyone who thinks this is dangerous (as long as you have a helmet and life preserver) has never rafted whitewater. This is tame stuff.
Guess you have missed the people who have died trying to go over low head dams over the years. Not to mention there are rocks and other items at the bottom of this "slide". Raft did dump them.
I am voting for KF for president of the nanny state.
We are becoming a nation of Nancy-boys. This is tame as hell compared to even the Nantahala.
You got the caption incorrect. It should be "Hold my beer and watch this".
What are those big concrete blocks at the end of the slide? Probably underwater in this vid.
Yep, the big concrete blocks at the end of the ride, just underneith the surface of the water. That's what I would not want to hit at 20-30 mph. Other than the submerged obstacles at the bottom, it does look like fun.
This is Grenada, do we need to even say more??
Go do the towers and then get back to me.
Back in the day, shiiiiit, we would've gone down it in cutoff jeans....and never been caught.
Oooo kingfish you are so hardcore
The Tishomingo Navy threatened to put me in jail for jumping off the water fall at Pick Wick a few years ago. How did I ever live so long? I was jumping off the falls when I was 12 and had to stand in line and after jumping had to hurry and swim out of the way for the next dumb kid. Who's afraid of Darwin anyway?
Yal must be young, the correct phrase is" Hold my beer and watch this shit".
The communists at Sardis lake now make you wear a life preserver at all times while in your boat.
Yet no coverage on the flooded South Delta. The place where all this water is draining to. Over a half million acres flooded since February due to lack of the government finishing a project.
the "concrete blocks" are there to mitigate the hydraulic forces alluded to by Kingfish that would supposedly make this action too dangerous
"Go fund me" for the fine?
City slickers think everything is too dangerous and want more government control.
