The weapon used in the murders of Hattiesburg police officers Liquori Tate and Benjamin Deen has been recovered. A maintenance crew cutting grass along Railroad Street Friday found the .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun. It was tested at the state Crime Laboratory in Biloxi and ballistics confirmed it is the weapon that was used to shoot the officers.

I'm curious to know how he got the gun. I suspect it was stolen.
Well, well. Sherlock Holmes is awake and in the building.
We can thank our lucky stars that the weapon was found by law abiding and honest citizen and not some thug looking to help the guilty party.
Good job!
OK, now:
1) Lets figure out the exact triggerman, or triggermen.(the momma of the 2 literal "brothers" probably can clean this up.
2) ID those present and whoever assisted the guilty parties during the initial "getaway".
Get an AIDS infected needle and use it on the shooter (symbolic purposes mainly), all others get life picking up trash on the road with lots of weed eater duty in June,July and August FOREVER. Maybe some time in a cotton field just for good measure. NO PAROLE.
Should be able to wrap this up in a few more days and send a clear message:
If you kill cops, you gonna suffer. No forgiveness, no counseling, NOTHING but death and misery.
9:59 is crazy. Otherwise, what difference does it make to the case whether or not the gun was found?
I can understand the peripheral desire to find out if it was perhaps stolen in another unrelated crime or once belonged to the FBI; but, how will this case proceed differently than if it had NOT been recovered?
No Junior D.A.s out there to answer 6:27's question?
