I didn't see this post noted as a paid advertisement so I guess it's ok to post that that is a short list of average joes. He has zero chance.
I've known Brent for years from his Farm Bureau days. Couldn't be a finer man. Good luck Brent!
What do the war chests in this race look like, KF? Who's the TEA Party guy and who's Mississippi Powers Kemper Crony? 6.2 billion price tag on a 2 billion dollar project. Rate payers taking the shaft on the bill. This has the makings of a new Grisham novel...
If you get a chance to meet Brent, you will come away favorably impressed. Smart and capable. The truth is that we've got 2 really fine candidates running for that seat. Central District PSC will be in good hands regardless.
Like Tony Greer alot as Hinds Sup. He's been great. But heard him on the radio and he is all-in with Kemper. Refuse to vote for him in the primary.
Note Clarke Reed and Mike Retzer - two true legends of the MS Republican party. Honorable men.
I don't know that a former Ambassador really counts as an "average joe" but everyone else on the list certainly does.
Also, @7:56am if you want to know who is "for MS Power" and who isn't maybe a look at the candidate's campaign finance reports will clear that up.
Phil and Co. Recruited Greer. Both Tyner and Bailey would be an excellent vote on the commission but...... Neither have the political skills to defeat the man that is more liberal than Obama. Cecil Brown make Obama look like Ted Cruzes Daddy.
@10:24am You must not pay much attention... Tyner dropped out of the race a WHILE back.
This thing will make the Beef Plant boondoggle look a Dollar General by the time it's all said and done. Curious to see the independent expenditures that will come for Greer.
Brent is hardworking, smart, fair and humble. If you want to call them "average joes" I think it is refreshing to see someone get into the race based on not being told by the party to run, possibly being a stepping stone to other offices.
Brent Bailey was recruited to run by Hayes Dent - long time butt boy of Clarke Reed. Reed has been long time Repub, but notorious for not 'paying up' at fundraisers. Bet his name is here only for the name and because Dent asked him.
Also, Clarke has been fighting the Kemper Plant along with Dem organizer Stan Flint. Evidently Bailey has sold his vote if he should by chance get the GOP nod.
