400 Lbs of Weed Seized

Madison County Sheriff Randall Tucker issued the following statement.

On August 4, 2020, Madison County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a pickup pulling a travel trailer with an expired tag at mile marker 119 southbound on Interstate 55.  Deputies interviewed the driver identified as Aaron Abernathy of Flora, MS.  During the interview, deputies became suspicious of Mr. Abernathy and his passenger who was identified as Esteban Molina-Torres of Spokane, Washington.  Deputies asked for and received consent to search and a K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics.

The vehicle and passengers were taken to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office to get passengers and deputies off the interstate and out of harm’s way so that a more thorough search could be conducted.  During the search, deputies located approximately 400 pounds of marijuana concealed in a false compartment of the travel trailer.

Both subjects were placed under arrest for trafficking a controlled substance.  The driver was also charged with an expired tag.  Bond has been set at $100,000 for each subject and both are being held at the Madison County Detention Center.  Molina-Torres also has a hold by ICE.

Driver:           Aaron Abernathy

231 Abernathy Road

Flora, MS  39071

W/M   42 y/o

Passenger:   Esteban Molina-Torres

401 E. Magnesium Road

Apt. 123
Spokane, WA  99208

Kingfish note: Will it go up for auction once the case is closed?  Perhaps the state could make money selling it to a broker from a state where it is legal.  ;-)

It is guaranteed to be low grade shit that nobody will want in a state where cannabis is legal. Molina-Torres ensures it was Mexican ditch weed.

Whether there was profiling involved or not, these guys obviously aren't rocket scientists hauling a few hundred pounds of weed with an expired tag. They're smart enough to run for office.

The good news is that when they finally get out, weed will be legal.

It's only 400 lbs...that's about 60 seconds of the amount that crosses the border every day...one flatbed trailer had a rice Combine header on it. It was being brought into the US. "ALL" of the structural tubing was full of 90%+ pure cocaine, vacuum packed & formed to fit inside the tubing, each package with a string to pull it out with, after the welded end caps were cut off.

Dam that's why I didn't get my stash this week.

Wonder what the value is and if there would have been any sizable tax for it if legal. May I add that the real crime was addressed, at least he was cited for the expired tag.

3:39, there you go again trying to sell the false story that if MS legalizes weed this November that there will be a tax on it.

No. There will be a 7% sales tax --- all of which will go to the Dept of Health to manage the weed program. Can't be changed. Amount can't be increased. Purpose can't be modified, only use will be to manage the weed program.

So - there is not going to be a tax on weed. The multi-billion dollar weed business, led by its superstar Bomgar, made sure of that.

@3:47
Is the weed industry operating in MS subject to income tax? What about the payroll taxes for the employees? Because ot is an industry that doesn't currently exist so there will be an increase in tax revenue.

Damn - quick. Somebody call Kenny Wayne; that's more than just a good weekend, that might be a good Labor Day weekend with the holiday added!

Payroll taxes for the employees? Surely you jest. Have you checked the MS Income tax rates - the 'employees' of your 'weed industry' will not be making enough payroll to meet the minimum level (3% of net, not gross).

Income tax? Look again at the MS tax rates for income taxes. Just what part of this 'new industry' do you think will be paying any income taxes to the state? The growers? Now you would really be jesting. The storefront retail establishments? If ANY income tax came from these it wouldn't scratch the surface of what it would take to collect it.

The place where the income is going to be made is not in MS - its going to be BigWeed (kinda like the old Big Tobacco, just a different product) and that money is not going to be subject to MS income taxes.

Try again with a better argument next time. But thanks for playing.

They better start making some political contributions in a hurry. Get out of jail cards aren’t cheap.

I would inject so much of those weeds

Anonymous said...

But he had an expired tag dammit.

Decoys. Smugglers are dumb but not that dumb. Weed going south on 55 is suspicious. Weed usually travels from west to east via 20 or 10. They were caught in Madison County so I'm guessing there were at least 6 police SUVs and at least another 7 cruisers in on this bust. The real prize probably strolled right past them sometime thereafter.

Shit! The road where he lives is named after him. This muss bee jaxon!

@4:49 has it right. The shipment of multiple kilos of 90+% cocaine slipped in right behind them. With the huge profit margins on cocaine, whatever debts those guys owed to the dealers are now paid (and it didn’t cost them their lives).

Reefer madness! That's what this is - Reefer madness!

They are trying to get in the game late, by 2021 their will be so much weed around they won't be able to keep up.

Y’all need to write books for conspiracy networks.

This dumbass from Madison tried to make quick bank by helping move 400 lbs of weed.

There was a CI along for the whole ride and Madison took him down. Probably his ex wife who wants custody of kids.

Keep up the work Oliver Stones ....QAnus needs more stupid to peddle.

Comparisons to Fordice are spot on. For those who are unaware, Taggart was his Chief of Staff. It didn’t work then and it won’t work now.

I am always amazed at how many dui’s are given in conjunction with “expired” tags. You are begging the cops to stop you with an expired tag. Particularly with the new ones with 7 instead of 6 numbers/letters.

4:40 - Do you really suggest somebody is stupid enough to be a decoy and willingly go to prison for three years in order to slip a runner by the cops (who you suggest are otherwise occupied)?

The stupid is deep on this thread.

WTF?

@3:15...If it hadn't been expired tag, something else would have been probable cause...you were weaving!!!...one of the taillights appears to be malfunctioning, its on now, was off...step back here & lets have a look.

Y'all be right about product, It goes one way..Cash goes the other...LE prefers Cash..

The brainlet @3:20
You assume too much. Like assuming that a decoy is ever willing. You are correct about the stupidity though. You are a contributor.

I’ll bet the white suburban Madison kids are mourning the loss of their “fun weed.” This was their weekend plans and the sheriff went and ruined it. If you ask their parents, they’ll tell you their child never smoked it, though. Madison.... such a fun, wholesome place.

2:24 - How much advance planning do you suggest is needed in order to run a van-load of weed through Madison County? As was said above, the stupid is deep on this one. Thanks for becoming a living example.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
