A Hinds County grand jury indicted Andre Kennedy on February 26 for kidnapping, armed robbery, and burglary. Kennedy and his accomplice Edwin "Guttalife" Robinson kidnapped a doctor from his Ridgewood home early on a Saturday morning, May 16, 2015. A doctor who just happened to be a competitive shooter. The indictment states the charges are terror-enhanced.* The case is assigned to Judge Jeff Weill.
The former Guttalife Dee |
JPD caught Kennedy several days later thanks to tips provided by JJ readers and charged him with capital murder, armed robbery, and kidnapping. However, the grand jury did not indict Kennedy for capital murder. Kennedy was an MDOC employee at the time of the crime but has since been terminated by the department.

JPD arrests Andre Kennedy
Kingfish note: No indictment for murder. This dude should be looking at the possibility of life in prison for capital murder. Moral cowardice.
*Terror-enhancement increases the minimum prison term to ten years.
Kennedy currently resides in the Hinds County Detention Center at Raymond:

See ya douchebag!
This must be a very complicated case because it took 10 months to indict. RIP Guttalife.
it's a shame the good doctor didn't have the chance to fill this thug with lead also.
would have saved court costs and a lifetime of meals and housing on us.,
Exactly, 2:20. I was planning to write the exact same thing. Wish it had been two thugs instead of one.
He'll be out in a couple of years.
So when the good (shot) doctor testifies, he should look directly in guttalife's friend's eyes and say, "man I sure wished you would have hung out with me and gutta for a little longer and enjoyed the fun. Maybe when you get out the pen, we can get together. You know, just me and you."
Sad thing is that he was not indicted on the capitol murder charge. That is a easy one. Since he was in the commission of a armed robbery and kidnapping and his partner was killed that is capital murder. RSS once again drops the ball. This guy will maybe do 10 years but if the capital murder charge had been in effect he would do life, which is what he needs to do.
Maybe when he gets out he will come over to Rankin or Madison and Michel Guest can do RSS job again.
I wonder how long it will take for the wrongful death suits to start going after everything the good doctor has worked entire life for? You can rest assured they will start if they havent already.
Who knows maybe Gutta Dee and Kennedy will get what they were after all along only their families will be enjoying it with out them.
He brings em into the world and takes em out also. Thanks doc (1979)!
An MDOC employee you say??
Mr Fisher is cleaning up a big mess...good job!
3:50 Technically of course it is capital murder and some have been convicted of such- I had a client once indicted for that here in Hinds County- But there ain't nothing easy about it when trying to hold a Defendant responsible because the victim killed his co-defendant - the jury wants to convict the one who did the shooting, not because there is a legal interpretation allowing this type of conviction to stand- You have to think these cases all the way through and you seem to only care about what you can glean from the surface- Nonetheless, if you think that he will do 10 years after Weill and the DA are finished with him, you can't really mean that- Armed robbery and kidnapping in this case will get him life by the jury period- If not, Weill will give him one day less than life- You know that but you just want to be negative- This site is so negative- This is a positive day for Jackson-
I am soooooooooooo glad that Jeff got this one...
Tommie will rework the docket so that it has to be reassigned while Jeff is on vacation.
If it's not a sex crime involving a woman or a minor I still can't see the wisdom of refusing to identify the doctor. Why does he need to be shielded? Is this Jumbo-Liars version of 'witness protection'?
