State Auditor Stacey Pickering issued the following press release:
The Mississippi Court of Appeals exonerates State Auditor Stacey Pickering and the Office of State Auditor
Jackson,
Miss – The Mississippi Court of Appeals overturned a Harrison County
Chancery Court’s contempt ruling against the State Auditor and the
Office of State Auditor. The initial charge of contempt was related to
the subpoenaed records in the Department of Marine Resources
investigation.
The
Sun Herald newspaper’s parent company Gulf Publishing initially filed
an open records request that was denied due to the requested files being
part of an ongoing investigation and subject to a Circuit Court
subpoena. The Harrison County Chancery Judge issued a bench order and
protective order to seize the disputed documents at the same time a
federal grand jury subpoenaed the documents.
The
Office of State Auditor complied with the federal subpoena at the
direction of the Attorney General. It was then the Chancery Judge
issued her contempt charge and ordered a contempt hearing refusing to
recuse herself.
Also
overturned in the Appellant Courts’ ruling were fines and court cost
ordered by the lower court to be paid by various individuals including
the State Auditor and the Attorney General as well as members of their
staffs.

Thanks Mr Pickering.
Keep up the good work.
Well done Skip.
His speech at the Ocean Springs Rotary during the DMR fiasco reportedly included this:
“It has been very complex and very complicated and my only commentary on the DMR investigation is there are a lot of friends of yours and mine. Let’s be very clear. This is close to home for all of us.”The auditor said his take on the situation is the investigation will likely reveal a “culture of corruption.
Power up the RV honey!! We are heading to Disneyworld!! We are free at last!!
What about the recent indictments of his staff?
@ 4:16....What about the price of gas in Tucson?
As for as price of gas, sir. Pickering will just take it out of his campaign account. Who cares!!
8:50- who does care?
His campaign funds aren't public money. People willingly gave him their money to use. He followed the current MS laws regarding campaign funds.
If you don't like what he did, then start calling your legislator to get the laws changed.
Indictments by RSS don't give credence to anything. Shuler-Smith is in his own world and trying to distract from his own problems. Don't think much of Huggins, but I'll bet my dollars on these 'indictments' being dismissed pretty damn quick.
