United Conservative Fund: All talk, no action?

Press releases, Facebook wars, and blog posts.  Such is the record of the United Conservative Fund.  The PAC was formed by State Senator Chris McDaniel as he promised to launch a conservative movement to challenge the Mississippi Republican establishment.  However, campaign finance reports show the UCF PAC has barely raised any money and has not supported any candidates.

The UCF website states:

MISSISSIPPI’S CHRIS MCDANIEL LAUNCHES NEW PAC DESIGNED TO CRACK GOP ESTABLISHMENT

On Friday, McDaniel will be announcing—he told Breitbart News exclusively—a new Political Action Committee (PAC) designed to help conservatives across Mississippi, and the nation, get elected to political office, replacing GOP establishment politicians.

The PAC, titled the United Conservatives Fund will focus on “electing conservatives and holding Republicans accountable while messaging conservatism in a way that secures conservatives get a chance to be elected even over some of those in the establishment,” McDaniel  tells Breitbart....

Instead of coasting back into their jobs, however, the new effort McDaniel is officially leading is aimed at wreaking havoc on the good-old-boys in Mississippi’s GOP establishment: They’re going to face well-funded and trained primary challengers, with a serious counter-narrative being put forward for the first time in the state from an official entity outside that of either the Republican or Democratic parties. ..... United Conservatives Fund website
The initial filing at the Secretary of State's office states the UCF is "dedicated to funding and supporting conservative candidates to office."

The campaign finance reports for 2015 show that the PAC has not contributed a single dime towards a single campaign.  The July 8 report states it has raised $18,813 in 2015 and spent $16,786 as well.  It has a cash on hand balance of $7,657.

The major contributions are:
$3,000 by Chris McDaniel
$1,000 by Jason Miller (Va.)
$1,100 by Michael Bostic
$1,810 by the Central Mississippi Tea Party
$3,107 by the Mississippi Tea Party
$500 by Laura Van Overschelde

Major expenditures by UCF are:
$6,248 on Creative Computer
$3,000 to Keith Plunkett
$2,095 to Jim Marler
$2,416 to Mahaffey's Printing
$2,190 to Branded Designs

The campaign finance reports do not show any donations to political candidates nor is there a record of any fund-raisers.

this was always a Keith Plunkett jobs program. Who runs Creative Computer?

McDaniel will fade into irrelevancy, as he should.

Almost 5K from the Tea Party. Just keep that in mind, folks.

This mess is even funnier than I expected. It's too bad his devoted minions are incapable of being embarrassed over their gullibility.

A cynical person might say that the UCF was designed to promote the creation of "more redneck noise".

Grifters gonna grift.

Wait a minute...where's Billingsley? I thought the brain surgeons out here were certain he was a McDaniel wacko...

Don't underestimate McDaniel. Many of his donors give small amounts, and I've heard he has long term commitments from hundreds of in and out of state donors. I don't agree with him politically, but don't underestimate. I've practiced law with him and against him. Damn. Smartest guy in the room. No shit.

Aren't you all the same guys that said Cochran would beat him 90-10?

Anonymous said...

Already raised more than 90% of the politicians in MS and haven't even has a fundraiser yet!

What's your point? Aren't most of their donors small???

Typical from this random nothing site. Guess building something like this is done overnight in their mind. But irresponsible reporting like this just goes to show the agenda they with to promote.

It shows UCF must have something going for itself or why would this blog even waste its time bothering with it?

I love the fact you guys think this is a bad report? And to not see many members like myself that make smaller monthly donations. UCF was involved with getting the governor to veto the Common Core re-branding bill and it is about to launch a drive to get term limits on the ballot. Meanwhile, you trolls just post trash on the internet. I know which is productive and which is not.

KF-- will research what type of corporate status the Centeal Tea Party has? It's possible they are in violation on contributing to a PAC depending on their status.

Anonymous said...

UCF is clearly a threat to whatever KF is trying to promote (establishment, highest bidder, whomever he decides strokes his ego the most?) And to publish this the day before UCF starts a drive for a term limits drive? Seems some of KF's donors are scared so it is time the "McDaniel and his friends are horrible" post.

As for not supporting any candidates, is it possible there has been help in other ways besides money or a public endorsement? Guess those thoughts are out of the questions in the realm of KF logic.

So if I point out they promised to run primary challengers and have done nothing in that regard, I'm on the take? Oooooooook. Sometimes people can question or disagree without being on the payroll. Too funny.

I just look at all the ads across your site and know you're on the payroll. Too funny. And there is a big difference between saying "we plan to help find conservative candidates" and "We promise to run primary challengers." But I guess that's not in your style.

Kingfish said...

I sell ads to everyone. Unlike some websites, I don't play favorites and accept from one candidate and refuse to sell them to his opponent.

Funny, you don't question WLBT, the Clarion-Ledger, or Madison County Journal for selling ads but you question me. I'm trying to decide if you are just plain stupid or a bigot, a bigot against new media. There isn't much different between the two choices.

Anonymous said...

Nice assumption that I don't challenge other media. Guess that's what you base your entire site on, assumptions. And now you're calling someone a bigot because they question your site? Haha. When someone can't debate, time call them a bigot.

Anonymous said...

Just plain stupid AND clueless about new media. The sorry whiny sacks that somehow expect you to run your business for free. Give us a break.

Anonymous said...

YEAH, let's talk about NEW MEDIA. As I type it appears every FBI agent in the Southeast is investigating one of our present statewide officials, but no story here. Nothing to see. Instead let's do a hit-piece on a start-up PAC that receives almost all of its money from small donors. Typical.

McDaniel must really scare you guys. Hell, you know what I know. You won't be able to count on 40,000 democrats to save you next time.

You go to the website and the main photo is of C.M. There aren't other politicians with him. It might as well be called 'McDaniel PAC'.
'To promote conservative candidates'. Whelp, big money, right now, has a White House to win. The investments right now aren't on the lingering woes of a U.S. Senate seat. There may come a time when this 'PAC' actually does something in the future, but you must ask yourself, "why would big money give to a loose cannon and his PAC in the state of MS?"

As far as the whole 'term limits' thingamajig; good luck with that. You're going to need it. Go buy some juju bags froma voodoo shop for all I care. Also, it's very hypocritical to ask for term limits when you're most likely going to go for a 3rd term. Ayn Rand was more principled than that in her own beliefs and she was perceivably insane, especially for the most religious state in the Union.

If you practiced law with/against Chris and he was smartest guy in the room, it means: small room; a reflection of your own low ability to practice law; the overall bar for the Bar is low; or, all of the foregoing. Yes he gave Cochran a challenge, but this was an old Cochran with baggage who didn't want to run. Let me know when we does or wins something that actually affects my tax rate, addresses government corruption or -- wait for it -- improves the voting process (wasn't he chair of some elections committee that did. . . nothing?). Small donations or large, he's a windbag who ultimately isn't any more successful than [name your average Dem/Rep].

Speaking of Jackassery, look no further than 5:59.

Damn, son. McDaniel ran against Thad, Haley, Roger, Trent, Phil, Tate, Greg, Steven, and every single Republican hack we have. Damn. He than ran against Mitch McConnell and the NRSC. Shit. Every supervisor and flea bitten county official in the state endorsed Thad. Thad's purchased votes for 41 years. Buildings. Post offices. Etc.

AND MCDANIEL STILL WON MORE VOTES. That is, until the Democrats crossed over.

Hear that? THE ENTIRE GOP ESTABLISHMENT HAD TO DEPEND ON DEMOCRATS TO WIN! lol

You may not like McDaniel but he has nuts! Courage. And damn right he's smart.

Chris is one of the best men I've ever met. He cast the tough votes and never looks back. Even when it's unpopular. He will always have my family's support.

@ 4:51, spill it. You're anonymous. You may as well fill everyone in on your inside info.

2:06 "smartest guy in the room". Are you kidding me?!? I've practiced against and on the same side of the "v" with him. Never once have I thought of him as smart. The only thing he brought to the table was being a local in Landrum's monkey circus courtroom. Spend ten minutes with the guy, even a decent attorney knows how to play him.

You McDaniel Kool-Aid drinkers have made my morning. Not exactly MENSA candidates, are y'all?

Anonymous said...

Sure is a lot of hate and scorn on this site for McDaniel supporters. And I guess that's okay, considering where it's located, it's a contained, inbred-sort of platform. When it's all said and done, at least I can say I did not vote for Thud Cochran. That's on you guys and the MSGOP establishment plus the Dems that crossed the lines. Perfect bedfellows all. Cochran has done zero for MS and the U.S. just as expected. More of the same----for over four decades! Awesome. Keep on mocking, don't look to yourselves, let the good times roll.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
