Attorney General Jim Hood issued the following press release:
Terry Mayor Arrested Following Indictment for Embezzlement
March 30, 2015
Jackson, MS—The Mayor of the City of Terry has been arrested today on charges he embezzled from the City, announced State
Auditor Stacey Pickering and Attorney General Jim Hood jointly today.

Nicholson was arrested today by special agents from the Auditor’s
Office and investigators with the Attorney General’s Public
Integrity Division following indictment by a Rankin County Grand Jury
on five counts of embezzlement. The indictment alleges that Nicholson
used the city’s credit card to pay for repairs totaling over $2,700 on
two personal vehicles. The work was allegedly
done on five separate occasions at dealerships in Brandon and Flowood.
The total exceptions, both civil and criminal, demanded to be returned
to the State of Mississippi in this case are $56,966.27.
“As an elected official, the public places a vote of confidence in you to always do what is best for those whom you represent,”
said State Auditor Stacey Pickering. “ It is truly unfortunate when that trust is broken for personal
gain.”
“The
law does not discriminate, even when it comes to a public official,”
said Attorney General Hood. "Our residents deserve honesty and integrity
in their representatives, and it's a sad day when
that trust is violated."

According to msnewsnow the Hinds county da's office got this case last July. They never did anything with it. Stacy took the case to AG and now the there's an indictment. Hmm?
It never stops--
I can't imagine why Jim Hood doesn't consider this guy "like family" :-)
One initial report I saw was personal use of official vehicle. Anyone know about that? Unfortunately that goes on a lot and Pickering looks the other way.
Who wrote this press release? A sixth grader?
But Rudy and his gang are all legal. Why pick some little guy.
@ 1:07 PM
Actually the Hinds County District Attorney's Office recused from the case which is fairly standard procedure when it comes to public officials.
1:07 the Hinds County DA has no power to prosecute crimes that were committed in Rankin County. Stanley, you should know that...
Would someone explain how $2,748.08 in illegal charges = $56,966.27 that is owed to the State? Sounds like real fuzzy math to me. Also, Pickering's office has been investigating this man for 4 years and this is all they can come up with? This whole investigation has been a witch hunt started by the opponent that he beat in the last election by 7 votes. 7 votes may sound like a small margin of victory but in Terry that's more like a mandate.
Airwave ??
Small fish. The twelve pound bass (plural) reside in Madison County.
I tell why Rudy is not in Jail. Because he has not broke any laws! Haters will hate. Oh and I saw Rudy today I his new Royals Royce today at Char. You keep rolling Rudy!!
7:22 How does Rudy get paid do much and not do any real work? Graft!
All of the women on the board of aldermen are kin to the man who lost to Nicholson. My bet is that the car repairs were in return for using his personal car on town business.
The odd thing about this indictment is the politician does not have an R behind his name.
Hinds County.
Why do they all look like Bennie Thompson?
