The Hinds County Board of Supervisors were supposed to hold its regular meeting this morning. However, no meeting was held because three supervisors did not show up. No quorum, no meeting.
That's right, Bobcat, Tony the Tigerettes, and Debbie Does Dixon stayed home while Wanda Evers and the Robert Graham showed up to do the people's business.

I will bet that would all have been there if a raise in their salaries was on the docket!!!!!
They have anal glaucoma. They just couldn't see their asses going to work today!
Off the subject, but please investigate the mayor's plan to built a 60 room village for the homeless. This from a group that can't manage a library, much less a village for the "residence challenged".
We're probably better off with them not meeting at all.
They’re pretty much AWOL whether they’re there or not.
they are too busy riding around in the new F150's and Chevy Tahoe's the county purchased for them to show up.
You get what you vote for
love the nicnames
Maybe they are at a convention in Paris. It could happen. Right?
The jobs simply don't pay enough and there's no refreshments served at the meetings. At least a little champagne and finger snacks. They are HINDS COUNTY supervisors after all!
I WAS wrong. It CAN get worse!!
Most other cities would demand better.
Heck, I almost applaud the voters in Jackson for saying "this is genuinely all we deserve" as they re-elect them over and over.
It's refreshing to see such self-awareness.
4:32, this board has turned over significantly over the last several terms, and not for the better. Three new supervisors this term. Two new ones last term. Who would have thought that re-electing the old supes would have been a good thing?
This is a good thing, if they are not there they can’t f*** things up anymore than they already are.
Four day weekend.
They were meeting with Bennie. Seems to me they know who is calling the shots in HindsCo.
Slow news day?
Dixon had told them she would not be there, due to an earlier committment to this rescheduled meeting. Smith and Bobcat called in at the last minute because they didn't want to be on record with the votes to be taken. Not unusual for one member to be gone due to schedule conflicts (thank you KF for throwing all into the boiling vat of incompetence without checking on details first) especially when the meeting date has been changed at the last minute.
Frankly, I don't give a damn about the crazy woman from south Jackson, but don't throw her into the same vat of boiling tar with these others; if she had been present the result would have been the same; she's generally right in there with Graham and Evers on the vote - just like it was previously with Calhoun, Bobcat and Gavin. Swap Gavin-Evers; swap Dixon-Calhoun; keep Graham. What you get is still three two, just now reversed. Bobcat stuck out on his on; quesion is what/where Tony Smith (successor to Archie and part of the Graham two-step) goes.
This was a continued meeting; KF's bitch about who's not there taking care of the pubic's business is off track. IMO whenever these groups don't meet, its a plus for all us taxpayers. At least they weren't spending our tax dollars, instead adjourning!!!!!!
Bobcat - You're the supervisor for our district. You were barely reelected this last time. We are watching you, taking note of what you are doing and not doing to represent our district. You're on increasingly thin ice with us.
You need to show up at meetings, return OUR PHONE CALLS to you, and serve us, the voting community who you are supposed to serve.
There are only a handful of people who could have inside scoop like 10:41. Please keep us in the loop on what’s going on with our BOS.
5:23 it matters not if the supe is "new or old".
They re-elect iterations of the same man over and over.
Perhaps the degree of depravity varies slightly, but all crooks.
And that is what they deserve based on their own selection.
Nothing to see here. The real boss called a meeting and that takes priority.
Hold a fish fry and release some balloons - they’ll show up!
I'm just glad I'm up in Madison County where there is superior, competent governm....Wait....What the hell was I thinking?
Will they make it back from Paris in time for the next meeting?
So if they were meeting with Bennie, what was THAT meeting about?
One was at a function down south with Bennie - that had been scheduled for that Tuesday for several weeks, and when the date of the meeting was changed to Tuesday, everyone knew she would be absent. (Not unusual for one every now and then not being present - that's been normal in Hinds and other counties since time immmemoral.) Missing a meeting is not a cardinal sin; what happened here though was something different; two of them 'called in sick' at the last minute after Graham put on the agenda an item to take back money approved by the 'old' board last year and they were against it; thought their being absent would keep it from happening.
All for naught, though. Any meeting that gets recessed due to the absence of a quorum continues to the next day, and Ms. Dixon was present and Graham could bring up his money issues. Thing is though, didn't he violate his own new rule, that anything to be voted on has to be discussed at the Work Session? Only a couple of those items he was taking the money back from were discussed last Tuesday; somehow the list grow longer over the intervening seven days.
Keep it coming 5:23. Thank you!
