Protest by UMMC

A protest is supposed to be taking place right now by UMMC.

What is the protest for? Hamas…

Anonymous said...

There are 20+ individuals there protesting the "genocide" being carried out in Palestine.

Anonymous said...

Ruh roh, I didn't see the warning at the bottom until after I read it. Will the FBI, ATF. CIA, NSA, or even the JPD be coming for me? Oh my.

Anonymous said...

I guess you are going to claim nobody should protest there because it might frighten some Jews.

Well guess what KF, now we know Jews killed a lot of Jews on that fateful day in Israel! Maybe even killed more than Hamas! In fact, I watched the videos of IDF helicopters strafing the music festival refugees fleeing in their cars. I wonder how many babies in car seats they killed and decapitated with their helicopter machine guns?

What say all you Zionists now?

Anonymous said...

And just what are they protesting?

Anonymous said...

Very peaceful indeed, and if anyone suffers any injuries of a peaceful nature, they will be near the Level 1 trauma center at UMMC!

Anonymous said...

It appears to be a bunch of lunatic Millsaps students led by Professor James Bowley, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. People driving by are flipping them off.

Anonymous said...

I'd be protesting the parking. Yeep!

Anonymous said...

Why aren't they protesting for Hamas to release the prisoners and pay restitution to the families of the victims?

Anonymous said...

Kiss my Hamas.

Anonymous said...

If HAMAS hadn't started this conflict back on 10/7, there would be no need for a cease-fire. There's a poll that was taken that said nearly %60 of the respondents wanted Israel to finish HAMAS. I agree with that sentiment, finish HAMAS.

So they are supporting terrorism? In my opinion, if you support Palestine you support terrorism. Have you ever known of a Palestinian that has made any major or minor for that matter, contribution to humanity? No. Now, you have the Jews who have made contributions to all facets of humanity and you cannot deny that. Medicine, Science, Engineering…the list goes on. Just think, the sand fleas couldn’t lob their rockets at Israel if they didn’t have the technology that was given to them by the Jews. Sorry but the truth hurts. The Palestinians are a bunch of no good sorry ass losers who benefit humanity in every negative way imaginable. Signed, a Southern Baptist.

Truly depressing to see all the ignorant comments. Educate yourself on the 75 years of occupation which includes land theft, unlawful arrests, torture, executions, and overall Israeli bombardment of Palestinians. Basing your opinion on mainstream media propaganda is quite foolish. Hamas does not represent the Palestinians and standing up for Palestinians does NOT equal support for Hamas. Research who created Hamas in the first place and you’ll be shocked.

Bombing refugee camps and hospitals is NEVER justifiable. If a school shooter was hiding at your child’s school, would it ever be justifiable to bomb the whole school?

Siding with terrorist… not only that but siding with those that throw homosexuals from a bridge or beheading them in public and far from women’s rights. Talk about bigots…

Anonymous said...

Why don't these losers stay at Millsaps and leave UMMC to do its work?

Anonymous said...

If 5:12 s correct, Millsaps can’t go bankrupt fast enough! Good riddance to the Majors

Anonymous said...

Took a class under bowley in ordination process….thought him something of a fruitcake then….

Anonymous said...

"People driving by are flipping them off."

I didn't think that would go over well around here.

Anonymous said...

Why in the world do people who are students at Millsaps (I am a postgraduate from there ) think after a few years of liberal bullsh*t they are EDUCATED. Get our there and do some blue collar work before thinking you are educated. It might help to serve in the military (as I did).

My favorite part is the writer admonishing me to return the memo if I received it in error and further warning me that I cannot copy or forward it. He left out 'under penalty of law'.

I guess Kingfish will be indisposed for a while for posting it here on the blog.

I hope someone got pictures of the faces of these antisemites so that the world can know that they support Hamas murdering innocent Jews. I hope it haunts them at every job interview.

To the owner of this discussion: isn’t it hypocritical that each comment has to be approved by you when it’s a a discussion for different opinions. What is the point of the discussion if only certain comments are approved? From reading the approved comments, it’s clear where your beliefs stand on this issue. I urge you to research both side because as an American, I refused to let the American people be manipulated and dragged into another war where our children and family die for a pointless, avoidable cause.

You also posted this email sent to only UMMC students or employees, as an emerging or current healthcare professional, calling for the stopping of bloodshed should be priority. There are many doctors and surgeons currently performing surgeries in flashlight-lit hallways due to the cutdown on electricity and overwhelming amount of patients with severe circumstances. I know you have some mercy in your heart and would never wish you experience anything those mothers and fathers in Gaza are experiencing.

If you support the IDF, you are either uninformed, misinformed, or downright cruel. I’m sure you are either uninformed or misinformed. Wishing you a safe life fully of contentment from being a compassionate healthcare provider worker. Much peace.

So Millsaps is now Ground Zero for anti-Semitism in Mississippi.

Anonymous said...

The same sister/activist who is protesting JXN Water is involved. I would like to know how is disrupting traffic in Jackson going to help the cause? Who are they trying to get a message to?

Anonymous said...

It’s not related to Millsaps. Nothing to do with the college. It was organized by the mayor’s sister. The one who got beat in the primary for the House of Reps.

Anonymous said...

Protest Millsaps! What a bunch of entitled private school liberal arts anti -semites! Go woke, go broke- soon please

Anonymous said...

This conflict did NOT start on 10/7. It has been ongoing since 1948. It’s baffling how people can make hateful comments when no research was even done. What’s more baffling is the comment about uselessness of Palestinians on this Earth. We always wondered how the holocaust took place, but we understand now. Also I advise you to look into the provided link on the impacts the Arabs/ Muslims have made on the world we live in today. Thank you very much.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/01/29/muslim.inventions/index.html

(funny it’s on CNN, one of the most propaganda channels)

Anonymous said...

Millsaps had nothing to do with the protest. It was Rutkin Lumumba. Mayor’s sister. And the Mayor.

The holocaust was legal
- people who hid the Jews were criminals

Slavery was legal
- people who freed slaves were criminals

Segregation was legal
- people who stood up for equality and justice were criminals

Our government and laws aren’t a guide to human decency and morality.

You can hold whatever political position you want.

But branding an entire people as “terrorists” or “terror sympathizers” isn’t a political position — it is blatant racism

If you don’t see people as people, it becomes easy to kill them in masses and rationalize genocide. Every mass atrocity in human history began with an idea— an idea that reduced people into sheep for slaughter.

Wake up. Education is power.

@6:34, So any comments you disagree with are posted by uneducated hicks. Do you work for the Jackson Free Press?
I know Israel will finish the job and I stand by them 100%. They represent the only free country in the Middle East. I guess you admire Iran,Syria and Saudi Arabia who execute known Gays and Lesbians and treat women like garbage. The Palestinians haven’t contributed a damn thing to the world but civilized Israel has. Blame the Palestinian people for their predicament for once.

Anonymous said...

Post your proof that the Lumumba siblings planned, organized and carried out this 'protest'. The three of you who claim that might be right, but let's see validation of that claim.

6:42PM makes good points. The coalition put together by rich white Democrats (that almost always live in safe homes many with gates protecting them while poor black children are murdered and killed with stray bullets in Democrat controlled cities) is so strange it is laughable.

Muslims and LGBTQ+’s on the same leftist Democrat team - and 2/3rds of American Jews also vote Democrat.

But Democrats control the media; and like Malcom said: “The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses.”

“ He also accused those protesting Israel’s supposedly “disproportionate” response to Hamas of having “no understanding of war, the laws of war or how the world works,” and that the terror group would “slaughter” the protesters, if given the opportunity, “for not being radical Islamic followers.”

Yeah KF, why do you censor comments? What happened to free speech? So what if someone gets their feelings hurt. It might do them good.

Walter Winchell said...

“There are many doctors and surgeons currently performing surgeries in flashlight-lit hallways due to the cutdown on electricity and overwhelming amount of patients with severe circumstances.”

These unfortunate occurrences could have been avoided, if the people of Gaza had left when given the chance. That chance to leave was something HAMAS did not offer to the Israelis killed on 10/7. Let me also note, that the butchers on 10/7 did not attack military targets, it was strictly normal citizens that were murdered.

The casualties in the Gaza Strip, are not because of the IDF intentionally targeting normal citizens, as the murderous HAMAS did on 10/7. The citizens of Gaza are being used by the murdering Hamas cowards to protect military targets. These targets are intentionally placed by Hamas near schools, hospitals, and other such places.

In your zeal to protect Gaza citizens, you are protecting the murdering cowards that broke this cease-fire, and have used the citizens as human shields. This breaking of a cease-fire, is the 16th cease-fire to be broken since 1948, none of which were done by the Israelis. The 16th cease-fire, either by the PLO, HAMAS, or other such terrorist organization.

The HAMAS, you so lovingly protect, are murdering cowards, as are the citizens of Gaza that support them. A people that are so despicable that fellow Arab citizens will not allow them to immigrate to their countries. Seriously consider, their brothers from other countries will not allow them access to their countries.

Benjamin Netanyahu, understands the mentality of the butchers that makeup HAMAS. He will end this conflict with HAMAS, the only way that is possible. Peace will come when there aren't any HAMAS remaining. You, and your fellow HAMAS loving terrorist, should find you a safe space, there will be a lot you will not like.

November 9, 2023 at 4:29 PM -- quite a bit of embellishment by you and zerohedge to accentuate an invalid claim. Lot of "possibles" and "maybes" used in the speculation of the events.

If anyone wants to view the unbiased report with video, go here: https://www.ynetnews.com/article/hkanmp5w6

Bottom line: The IDF was instructed to focus on the influx of Hamas terrorists at the border, and were guided by special ops on the ground. And, that's what the footage looks like.

Anonymous said...

Well I hope none of them parked in the parking garage. Now that would be a HUGE issue with UMMC

Anonymous said...

The protestors cars will probably get broken into.
If they block the road, that could get entertaining! Grab the popcorn.

Anonymous said...

All this got started because of something that happened on 10/7? Dumb me, I thought I heard something about 1948.

How are you pro gay rights and pro women rights yet you side with Hamas

How fashionable, and trite.

4:29, here is what I have to say: All land on the globe is held by governments who can defend said land by force against those who might want it. "This is just" or "this is right" is ultimately a useless argument.

Anonymous said...

KF, I really enjoy the number of comments you approved by people hollering about free speech that appear to have never read the first amendment and have no clue what free speech really is…. Lol
It goes back to the saying that you can let people think you are a fool or open your mouth and remove all doubt…. Lol

Anonymous said...

I am no protestor, but certainly believe in ones right to do so when they feel it necessary. With all of that being said, I would think it is necessary to protest where the decision makers are or around people who can somehow alter the situation in SOME WAY. Standing around shaking a sign at people for the sake of doing so seems pointless.

Oh and the word I keep seeing "educated" is so widely misused it is like nails on a chalk board to me. Just because you spent 30 minutes reading a wikipedia page does NOT give you the right to belittle someone else's knowledge base, whether you consider yourself "educated" or not.

I have never heard one "educated" person use that term, its almost always some rube who thinks they are the smartest person in the room.

Anonymous said...

@6:34 PM

You realize that Hamas is the duly elected government in Gaza, right? So they DO represent the Palestinians. In addition, 70% of Muslims worldwide support jihad and not just against the Jews. Just admit you do as well, you'll feel better about the honesty.

The best hummus in town is right there - Aladdin!!!

Anonymous said...

" Dumb me", at least you got that part right, the rest, not so much. This conflict is much older than that, so why did you start there?

Could it be that's the point in time your indoctrination listed as the start? I would say educated, but you aren't educated, even though you can't be convinced otherwise. You don't have the capacity to form an independent thought.

Why is it that Israel is at peace with its bordering nations, except Gaza? These nations can not hide behind human shields like the murdering cowards of HAMAS. These nations have military that are uniformed, and carry a national flag to be recognized. They also must follow international law. HAMAS does none of these things, they are terrorist, plain, and simple. Quit being a terrorist sympathizer.

I protest the Hamas cowards hiding behind children and locating in hospitals. every death is on them

@8:32, when was that one singular election? 2007?

The people who are complaining about so-called censorship on this site, here is what they are whining about.

Holocaust denial. Yup, there have been a few comments denying the Holocaust or saying you know who had it coming to them and deserved it.

One dude kept trying to argue the Nazis did not make lampshades out of Jewish skins. Ok. Looked it up and they didn't. HOwever, it had nothing to do with the post and he made a crusade out of it. Seemed to offend him that he couldn't just run loose to yap about whatever he wanted on here. Of course he complained about censorship.

Posting Hamas claims of casualties. Hamas is very skilled at the information war and has been caught time and time again manufacturing false claims. Remember the claims about Israel firing a missile at a hospital and killing hundreds of people? Totally false. Turns out Hamas was too stupid to build a competent rocket so it hit its own parking lot and then went out and blamed Israel for it. Not allowing comments about casualties when the only source is Hamas and there is no independent verification by credible third parties.

You know, the Nazis were elected by a minority of the German people before they seized power. Does that mean since the Nazis did not represent the Germans we should not have bombed German cities or farmland?

@KF
The problem is you are posting deceptive propaganda without context and then when someone posts some facts to add context you censor it because you are ignorant to anything that wasn’t a history channel documentary.

William F. Buckley said...

KF is moderating, not censoring. The variety of comments from both sides here demonstrate that. Don’t be pissed off because he is not allowing your hate speech or conspiracy delusions.

Anonymous said...

Why is it that every time we hear of some protest or march neither one is anywhere near the thing they are protesting or marching about? If you have a problem with something why not go to the people that caused the problem? Why would you cause problems for people who had nothing to do with your cause?

You don’t know if it is hate speech or not.
Sen. Rand Paul said it best when he said the answer to “hate speech” is more speech.
Let the marketplace of ideas discuss it openly!
Let the light of truth shine upon the lies and propaganda!
The truth isn’t hate speech

Question(s) for the esteemed historians and military strategists that post here:

What were the names of the military bases in Nagasaki and Hiroshima and how large were the bases?

Follow-up: What was the percentage of civilians to hostile combatants in the immediate deaths and long-term health issues from the events?

After I get these two facts established, I may be able to begin forming an opinion of the "Gaza problem".

I drove through what must have been the height of the protest yesterday. What I saw was a bunch of kids, many with interesting hair colors and tattoos, carrying signs (a couple held upside down), who were laughing and having a grand ol' time. They would have loved the anti-war protests of my youth. I hope they eventually realize that they are doing absolutely no good and mainly irritating people by messing up traffic.

You don’t need to be a philosopher or historian to be “educated.” With our modern technology and educational resources, you can learn about an issue in a couple of days but it only works if you are actually open to research and hearing both sides of the coin. Make a conscious effort to learn the history of this issue before spewing ignorant hateful remarks.

1:45 - Both Hiroshima and Nagasaki were important seaports. The Japanese 2nd Army, whose remit was the defense of southern Japan, was headquartered in Hiroshima. The city was also a major communications hub and assembly area for that military district.

Nagasaki was the site of a naval shipbuilding yard. Also, a number of factories that produced arms, ammunition, and other military equipment were located in Nagasaki.

That's just a thumbnail sketch - you'll have to do your own research on the other questions you pose.

Enjoyed the read. I remind all that kids are stupid, Just like we were. I don’t know much about Millsaps,. My kids went to State and Ole Miss. Both turned out just fine with good jobs. once these kids are responsible for their housing, groceries, etc, they too may lean more to the right and turn in to normal adults. I more worried about sleepy Joe.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
