A woman finds out the hard way it is not a good idea to be the aggressor with even JPD. Good job, Mr. Officer.
The videographer stated on Facebook: "But she hit the police car and chase the officer with the stick before I started recording. My first thought was she done lost her mind. My second thought where is my phone". He also said she used the "kill" word.

that taser took her down like a sack of potatos
Looks like the officer tased the crazy woman? Good for JPD. This appears to be the Wendy's on Hwy. 18 at the I-20 entrance - a bad neighborhood - it includes the Walmart that's a notorious crime hot spot. My apologies if I misidentified the location.
"Upon discharging my Taser 7, the female subject became immediately compliant."
America just getting fatter and fatter one Frostie at a time.
What are the physical fitness standards at the JPD? Is there a standard? If not, should there be?
Taser was the only option. You know there wasn't gonna be any foot chase.
What is the over under for waist sizes in our city these day?
Never been tazed, but if it drops you like that it has to hurt.
Thud
Something something falls on the pavement, does it make a sound?
I felt that thud all the way in Rankin County!
Lawyer shows up in 3..2..1 with lawsuit draft in hand. States that JPD should have waited until client was on a grassy knoll to discharge taser. Concrete be much harder than turf. "My client suffered permanent facial disfigurement and now has an anxiety issue any time she sees a PD cruiser".
7:14 don’t criticize the officers weight. I’m sure he is doing a job that you would not or could not do under the current administration. He is probably on desk duty now because he did not contact a Social Worker prior to deploying the taser.
Congratulations to the Officer.
America.... home of FAT "poor' people. Only place in the world.
They take what they can get at JPD and most other police departments these days. Cops were bad asses back in my day. Woke ruined all of that....
Ride that lightning! Zzzzztttttttt.
Leason: Never bring a light saber to a taser fight!
While comments about a person's weight are often inappropriate as a unfair attack on personal appearance rather than substance of character, this particular person is a "street cop," or at least in this instance, doing the job of one. It is reasonable to make comments about apparent suitability for the job. If the JPD has been reduced to taking anyone whose resume indicates even the slightest ability to do that job even in the face of presumptive readily-visible physical impairment to do it, that is a huge (no pun intended) problem facing Jackson.
OTOH, she was actively and aggressively attacking with a not-insubstantial weapon so a "foot chase" was not the immediate concern. I'd suggest that she is lucky the officer used non-lethal means to stop her. If he had shot her (and from the video he would have had objectively-arguable justification), hitting the pavement would have been the least of her reasonably foreseeable and likely injuries. A cop too fat to chase down suspects might be better than one who is an ex-athlete still in pretty fair shape who gets his ass knocked out in a fight he started. So perhaps the argument of character over appearance has some merit after all.
Yeet Yeet...Got E'm
Ben Crump would say this is a tragedy.
"Never been tazed, but if it drops you like that it has to hurt."
Trust me, you are correct in your summation.
@8:29
It is not difficult to imagine an individual to lose their fitness who has been on the force for 15+ years working 12+ hours OT and eating fast food in their cruiser.
There is just something satisfying about watching a combative idiot get instantly turned into a compliant statue that sits right with my soul.
When Mississippi is top of the list of overweight and under achieved, here is your example of both.
Kudos to the JPD officer. I know several rank-and-file officers who are dedicated and proud to serve. Too bad the courts keep letting them down.
What are the physical fitness standards for recruits who will sit in a squad car under a bridge on 55; lap the city every two hours on 20, 55 and 220 or report to the scene of suspected criminal activity and write a report?
