At Rankin PTA meetings do the parents get together and, unlike most places where parents say things like "Hey, we need to get together for dinner and drinks real soon," say things to each other like "Ya know, we haven't conspired to commit a single crime, not even a misdemeanor, in a coon's (wink, wink, nudge-nudge) age!"?

Unlike Hinds County/Jackson these criminals will be prosecuted. Why don't you bring up the
fuk'n fiasco of the JPD officer running over & killing a man, then trying to bury him without notification of family. Everyday the story of what happens crumbles more.

Talk about felonies, I believe Jackson has that locked up for the last 3 to 5 yrs running. We won't even bring up the dismal services the city can't provide. City with "SOUL". How many souls have been dispatched just this week alone.

Yes..well...like Rankin wasn't the place for crime for generations! It was the haven for gambling, bootlegging and corruption in government and law enforcement. Yet, you see Jackson's unorganized, drug and anger driven crime, as worse even though they get caught more easily. That it now looks like all the cheap suburbs that are now decaying and falling apart in Texas is not something you'd notice.

Why do you keep posting about this woman? Do you not think that she has a whole family that is affected by all these posts. I know someone is going to come at me but at the end of the day people forget that there are other people involved besides the "accused". Did anyone stop to think where this information came from? Did anyone stop to think there could be a whole process to drop, plea deal or something happening? No, no one stops to think about that. Everyone just wants to harass and belittle people. Did you ever think that continually posting about someone could totally send them over the edge? Did you ever think that things like this are filed or posted to try and end someone because that it what it sounds like to me. That someone is trying to end this lady. The comments made on here are just ridiculous and out of line. There is way more to this story. She's not been able to tell her side for fear of retaliation and many other things. But dragging her family into this is absolutely crossing the line. I know for a fact she took a polygraph test and scored a +28. Do you know what it takes to pass a polygraph, a +3. You cannot fake a polygraph out. Yes, a polygraph is inadmissible to prove guilt but 100% admissible to prove innocence. There is way more to this than anyone knows. Why are these people after her so hard? What really happened that they want to obviously keep her quiet. It seems to me like this Band Booster Club is trying to extort her. You can't get paid twice so why file a civil lawsuit when you already went to the law on her? Then you want to drag her family through it that had nothing to do with any of this.

These articles and comments wouldn't have been possible without this woman committing this theft. This woman is the one that dragged her family into this situation, she's the one that didn't think before she acted.

I personally know this woman. Despite what is being said, posted and all the things. She is an amazing woman. She has done so much for so many people. Her supporters seem to claim that she didn't falsify bank statements and she didn't use funds intended for band program to pay for her personal expenses. They allude to her, and her husband at this point, being set up. If this is a plausible statement, who provided her the falsified bank statements that she gave to the board? Because she's the one responsible for providing them. Either she falsified them, or she didn't. This is easy to determine by taking the actual bank statements and comparing them to the statements she presented to the board. The only way the "set up" seems possible is if she was not competent enough to hold this position and trusted someone else to assist her with the financial documents.

It's disgusting for her supporters to say "it's only money" and she "didn't murder anyone." It seems the good followers at Crossgates Baptist need to review the Ten Commandments. One shortcoming does not carry more weight than the other.

It doesn't matter how many people she's helped and nurtured. To the good church people, that's like saying good deeds alone will get you into Heaven. She can do good work, be perceived as a good person, be a Christian, and still commit a crime. If she mishandled these funds, spent funds without following the appropriate channels, and/or falsified report to cover her tracks, she should fess up and face her punishment. By far, the most disturbing part is the falsified bank statements. If she wasn't mishandling funds, why would she need to submit falsified statements?

Her supporters have every right to support her. But don't pretend she did no harm just because "it's only money." There's no way every single aspect of this indictment is false.

Lastly, it's ludicrous for her supporters to call people nasty, rude, or keyboard warriors because they don't like people discussing PUBLIC INFORMATION. This situation does NOT just affect her. It affects the students, parents, school, and community that support them all. If she did ANY of this, an example SHOULD be made of her to dissuade anyone else from doing this in the future.

You know you are personal friends with the Band Director of a case presented to you. Shouldn't that person let them know there is a conflict of interest. When you file a lawsuit on behalf of everyone that has a child in the band I would think they need to know. A small group of people CANNOT make a decision for that many people on such a serious matter.
We still do not know what really happened. I get no one can really talk about it but they have been so quick to label her a "monster" and talk so poorly of her but not talk about FORMER board members who just up and quit middle of bank camp with ZERO explanation and got irate when someone else was added to the bank account. Let's talk about how a FORMER board member just up and completely closed a bank account and NO ONE else but the band director knew for a whole month. Let's talk about about a FORMER board member completely changed banks and NO ONE knew. But let's put all of that on one person. WOW! just WOW!

About six weeks ago, answering the call, I mailed a personal check, through a band-parent, to the Germantown Band-Boosters to help with travel expenses.

In light of this thread and comments, I won't make such a contribution again any time soon.

I have sat back long enough and watched a woman get relentlessly drug through the mud. I have watched a family rally to support their wife, mother, sister in law, daughter in law. But you all want to see her ruined. DONNA FLOYD hold your head high sis! Hold it high!

That said, no wonder the world is in the shape its in, assuming the several above "supporters" are discreet individuals posting in support. This is not Les Misérables and she is not Valjean accused of stealing bread for his staving sister. If true as alleged, she stole money for her own selfish material desires. Several claim to be parents. That is scary, but not surprising. The gist of the supporters' defense seems to be, "She did something that any reasonable person would know instantly is wrong but she's a good person otherwise so she should escape any and all consequences including any and all public condemnation." Bullshit.

According to the civil pleading, which generally follows the criminal complaint, among other illegal acts she prepared false bank statements. That would be a proactive action that indicates knowledge of guilt. Scienter, in legalise. If generally true, that is not what otherwise-honest people who make mistakes do. That is not what a contrite mistake-maker seeking redemption does. Based on the reasoning put forth in some of the comments, her good qualities fully mitigate her ongoing dishonesty. A corollary to such nonsense would be that a person with many good qualities is entitled to repeatedly steal and then commit forgery to cover the theft. An otherwise-honest life might warrant mitigation for a single situational transgression, assuming appropriate contriteness and restitution, but this is alleged to be ongoing conduct including thief, deception, and other acts. If true as alleged, she deserves appropriate civil and criminal consequences for her conduct and those she has allegedly wronged are free to forgive her transgressions. Why is either even subject to debate?

All I see is a bunch of people coming out to support an amazing woman and a few that want to continue to bash and act like she cannot be supported. If you can’t handle the heat. Stay out if the kitchen.

Wait, that's not a description of the band, but of the band-parents.

All these folks coming to support the embezzlement of $59,000 must have got a slice of that cheddar also!

What does tearing her down and bashing her supporters do? Good grief! Leave the woman alone!

"Leave the woman alone"? Since when should society "Leave Alone" someone accused of a crime and headed to trial?

A better suggestion is for the four loud-mouths who keep posting every 12 minutes to go away, sit on the back steps and enjoy a six pack of PBR and a Slim Jim.

Again, she is allowed to have supporters to speak out on her behalf.

It's interesting that the supporters of criminal activity (both of them) say over and over, "We support this good woman, no matter what".

I think that means that even when/if she is convicted or pleads guilty, it matters not one whit to the several who 'stand behind, sistah'.

As a Rankin resident with no kids who still has to pay taxes to fund Public Schools, I do NOT stand with this criminal.

And I hope she is prosecuted fully.
