Greta Brown Bully will plead guilty to manslaughter in the death of Larry "Caveman" Lee in Hinds County Circuit Court. The killing took place in the parking lot of her liquor store,
the Toast & Sip, on Medgar Evers Boulevard on April 24, 2020. Ms. Brown-Bully also
owns Bully's Restaurant with her husband and is the daughter of Hinds
County Constable John Brown. She faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
A grand jury indicted Ms. Bully for first-degree murder, drive-by shooting, and tampering with evidence. The 65 year-old Lee was a neighborhood panhandler. Special Circuit Judge Forrest Johnson sealed the case on June 18 and unsealed it yesterday.
The police reports (included in the documents posted below) provide more information
about the investigation. A detective said several people were inside the
crime scene who "should not have been in the crime scene." Those
people are the three aforementioned Hinds County Constables and Brown's
son. Chief James Davis and then-Deputy Chief Ricky Robinson arrived at
the scene soon after the detective.
A blanket covered Lee's
body, a Kentucky Fried Chicken meal boax, and a Pepsi drink. A shell
casing was found inside vehicle. Both guns were recovered from the
vehicle. Another (p.25) report states:
The toxicology report states Lee had a BAC of 0.03 as well as THC and crack cocaine in his system.
All Hinds County judges recused themselves from the case. The Mississippi Supreme Court assigned the case to Judge Forrest Johnson.

Not to make light of this tragic situation but did anyone notice in the pre-printed petition that she's asked to attest that she can "read and right"? Classic.
I thought Dennis had pull and won all his cases.
Madison County resident. Wonder where she votes. Let's ask Angelique.
But, but, but, her mouthpiece has insisted for months that she is innocent. The sentencing fix will be in place for her to receive probation and a fine.
It's a 50% crime and she loses no voting rights. She could become Mayor of Magnolia when she gets out if she gets out.
We don't know what the sentence is going to be. She may not even go to prison for all we know.
Toast and Sip, a Precious Martin owned establishment originally. He is certainly missed by plantation owners all over.
She does lose her ability to buy firearms for life I believe. Since 21c is a qualifying question on the atf 4473 and the possible sentence is over a year I think that will now disqualify her.
Chokwe's poor and downtrodden can't blame the WPS for the preferential treatment and leniency she's receiving.
Bully for her.
I hate to say it, but this is nothing unusual for Hinds County. I'm glad JPD didn't take the easy way out and just say "self defense." I think this was straight up murder, but sadly, that's not illegal in Hinds County. Perhaps due will gzve to dknanger management like the guys who killed Eric Hammbrick.

Don't laugh. That's how the feds got Al Capone - falsely attesting on government documents.
Maybe it was intended to be, "I can read, right?"
At the crime scene there were "persons who should not have been there" identified as constables i.e. her father and his associates resulting in contamination of material evidence. How the hell is this acceptable? At the very least should not there be some investigation or consequence for this kind of manipulation if it impairs justice? I guess not in Hinds County. It didn't involve race so I guess it means nothing. Next.

How you gonna hate from outside the club?!
Only in Hinds County would you get house arrest for a crime that is not even eligible for house arrest.
Wasn't there a grandson or grandnephew of Hinds County Constable John Brown, that was arrested numerous times for criminal acts, and through special treatment had repeatedly been put back on the street?
I'm still trying to understand how she gets manslaughter, given that she was in a car and could have simply driven away if she felt afraid.
Can't wait until the sentence comes down and it ends up being a year or two.
"John Brown's body lies a-moulderin' in the grave
John Brown's body lies a-moulderin' in the grave
John Brown's body lies a-moulderin' in the grave
But his soul goes marching on
The stars above in heaven are lookin' kindly down
The stars above in heaven are lookin' kindly down
The stars above in heaven are lookin' kindly down
On the grave of old John Brown"
Only problem is, it wasn't John Brown's body that is now in a grave. But the stars above are continuing to look kindly down on him and his.
What will become of the constables that tampered with evidence?
1:14 They'll be reelected if they aren't voted out. Simple.
