Dollar General stores and Waffle Houses = dangerous turf.
Stay away from Jackson!
It is becoming more and more violent every second.
Just another day in The Bold New City With Soul.
Nothing will ever change.
You don’t want to be a racist now.
We are just forced to tolerate more violence and horror.
Welcome to the finish line, humanity.
Projection @ rate = 149 murders YE 2021
Chokwe Antar Lumumba is the Mayor of Jackson, Mississippi.
Where is chockwe...the mbar?
I am starting to believe Stokes that the mayor is on the payroll of the dope boys.
These Democrats are really doing a good job looking out amd protecting it's citizens. Sarcasm
Another demonstration as to the absolute folly of believing the 'credible messenger' shakedown will ever produce results in Jackson.
The People's Advocacy Institute exists solely to provide Rukia a platform to shoot off her mouth about 'transformational' garbage (alongside her wholly incompetent brother) in political circles and venues.
'Credible messengers' are nothing but soundbites and spin used by the Lumumba's to produce absolutely nothing in terms of results.

So...8 of the 10 have R governors. The bigger question is: why are the 'red' states so much more violent than the blue ones?
Is that fair to ask?
Whoever posted that is lying and just looking for attention. It wasn't the cashier. It was a stock guy. And it happened in the parking lot. Not inside the store. And it was domestic. Over a girl
Stay away from Jackson!

White folks aren't the ones getting shot? So what do you have to be afraid of?
99.9% of the shootings in Jackson are personal disputes - whether gang-related, drug-related, or some domestic dispute.
At least in the city, you don't have to worry about mass shootings!? Hell, you can go to the movies in the burbs and get mowed down because of a lunatic having a bad day.
But I digress. People say don't live in fear while wearing a mask, but now they are saying live in fear and avoid certain places!? You people can't have it both ways, LMAO!
Does anyone know what time the protests, autonomous zones, and vigils start? Along with the riots and trashing of other peoples property? What about painting a big, fancy, woke, hashtag on the streets of downtown Jackson. Surely I have missed the times being posted somewhere, along with the outage from the community.
1:46 - well then, no problem. Its still #103. And it still resulted in someone 'succombing'.
But - it was over a girl. That's different.
Justifiable. Probably result in a manslaughter conviction and two years on an ankle braclet, with access to the MBar allowed.
(Wait. To quick an analysis. Were those involved black or white?)
@1:40 it is the dwellers of the blue parts (Ex. Jackson) of the red states that are always bringing the rest of the state down. If you got rid of those areas across the US all crimes stats would drop to almost nothing.
There isn't any trim hot enough to go to prison for or take a bullet for.
@1:40 are the majority of these murders occurring in areas where the local politicians are "R"s? I know they aren't in Jackson...
1:40, The cities of New Orleans, Jackson, St. Louis, Baltimore, and Memphis drive their state's homicide rates.
So, will the shooter get home confinement?
I'm sure the new anti-violence mural in downtown Jackson will bring everyone to their senses soon.
3:26 - so why are the R governors not doing anything about it?
@1:40
Nice try there 1:40 but your Dem talking points that will work with your typical simple minded, uninformed Dem voters won't work here.
2:29 Is confused.
The republican suburbs around Jackson are way more safe and secure than being anywhere in the actual city of Jackson. That’s just the hard truth. But you stay in Jackson and be in denial while the rest of us get the heck out. #rundontwalk
The point is politics can’t stop crime. There needs to be a program that helps change the mentality in people who are living the life of crime or a life anger. There is something going on that can only be controlled through introducing positive morals. it will take the people to change themselves. No one is at fault here but the person who did the crime. Not only do Jackson and surrounding area crime hurt the town but it hurts the entire area as a whole. The fact is crime happens every where some just don’t get reported.
Never fails that the Lumumba apologists like @1:46 arrive to minimize that this latest loss of life is just another death. Merely a stock boy was murdered in a parking lot ostensibly over a girl, no less. Complete moral depravity.
You're right 3:48.
Antard's "holistic" approach is really working .... RIGHT ?
As are the "community" candle light vigils every week.
Along with the daily "Stop the Violence" cookouts. RIGHT ?
Crocodile tears at funerals ... shed by a few elected officials ...
are the most sickening.
Give those politicians an Academy Award.
Most thugs can't even shoot Straight.
(Thus innocents are getting killed all over Jackson).
@1:40 Yeah, we collect crime statistics for everything possible characteristic except the one that matters...Liberal or Conservative.
@3:51
They are terrified of being called racist. The only acceptable solution to the left and MSM is throwing money at the problem. We’ve been doing that since the 1960s and the only thing that has improved is the standard of living of the people living on welfare to the detriment of the people paying taxes.
Since when does a state's governor have any responsibility, jurisdiction or influence over one of the state's municipalities? I know that question is real confusing and many of you think all would be well if the governor would just pour more blessings onto the shoulders of Jacksonians... but, to put it simpler, the governor ain't got shit to do with the fuck-up of Jackson.
4:13
last time I checked, Tate Reeves is the governor of the entire state of Mississippi. therefore, his authority includes having a say in solving the problem of crime in the state, which includes Jackson. that's a simple "blue-D" lesson in civics.
Red Vs Blue is a pointless argument when the bloodshed in Jackson continues on this dramatic pace. It's bringing down the entire state. Tate Reeves and the State of MS need to at least pretend to care or else a higher percentage of young people will leave for Nashville/Birmingham/Atlanta than now. That's not a Red Vs Blue problem either.
I live in Eastover. It is GREAT. We pay off duty cops to patrol our area. Crime is very rare. I am sorry if your neighborhood is not organized and trash is everywhere because you have no home training (which we do and did) or you can't or won't afford it. I love it here. Period.
Didn’t Chokwe say he was going to make Jackson the next Silicon Valley??? Let me know when that happens. In the meantime, I’ll be outside the city limits watching and reading the news stories. This city is LOST.
2:29 Is confused.

Tell that to the kids that attended Pearl High School in 1997.
Then when all the black folks "run" from Jackson and move next door to you, then where will you go? SMH
Can’t believe that there is even a thought in the air to expand the M Bar! Crazy!
In the last 10 years more black men have died in Jackson as the victims of crime than were lynched in Mississippi from 1982 to 1968. Jackson is literally more dangerous to black men than the KKK.
This is not a black or white problem. It has everything to do with ignorance and a complete lack for respect and value for human life.
The state of Mississippi paid millions for the BOTEC study in 2016 at the behest of John Horhn: "Precursors of Crime in Jackson: Early Warning Indicators of Criminality"
The conclusion: the Jackson Public School System is the problem. And the answer.
6:10 The fact that you had to reference an incident from 1997 to compare the national record breaking pattern that has been consistently happening in Jackson since what...1995?
Please tell me you can see how pathetic that argument is?
One nutty white kid in Pearl who is rightfully in prison today, is not the same as 25 years of lawlessness with almost no punishment.
Just stop. Its ok to admit you also want to see effective leadership in Jackson. Without attempts to rationalize or denigrate other areas.
Its ok to BE MAD AT YOUR LEADERS and the society they tolerate.
Many of my new neighbors fled the area you seem hell bent on protecting by electing folks who spend more time defending Murder Bar than they do the folks being murdered.
And if they are capable of respecting laws and moral decency, they are welcome.
@ 9:03 PM
It has everything to do with ignorance and a complete lack for respect and value for human life.
It really is that simple. But people run to guns to solve their problems.
The young man at Family Dollar got killed over a personal dispute with a girl he allegedly got pregnant. Claimed the kid wasn't his, the young ladys family members stepped in and decided killing him was the better option, than putting him on child support.
Where's the logic in that - is beyond me. But somehow - pistols trump logic around these parts.
@6:10 PM 1997? This is 2021, Mr. Straw Man.
just a perception of shooting an innocent man.
They may want to contemplate surrendering to the cops and plea self defense. 8 years suspended and two on house arrest? I'd do that. Can have people over, drink alcohol, do drugs (MDOC doesn't really care if you do or not) and can actually leave the house on set days and times (Heard of this through a house arrest neighbor who actually worked PT during her arrest). New trend in Jackson coming our way. Reduces legal costs and costs to citizens for incarceration.
To Eastover Res @ 6:04... so... kinda like living behind the Embassy compound gates in Iran huh?
" It wasn't the cashier. It was a stock guy. And it happened in the parking lot. Not inside the store. And it was domestic. Over a girl".
Well that fact makes everything Okay.
I'll now continue shopping in Jackson.
__________
"There needs to be a program"
Brilliant idea 4:33 !
We've never tried that approach during the last 56 years.
Animals.
The grass is certainly greener north of County Line Road. It sure is sad that to feel safe some Jackistan subdivisions have to hire off-duty JPD or private security, along with gates. But sometime y'all have to leave your compounds to shop or maybe even work, right?
Reap what you sow, Jackistanians.
Eat your jealous heart out 11:20. Enjoy your 45 minute commute(s) daily.

There's more to a state, than the political affiliations of its Governor. Nine of the ten states you listed, have exceptionally-large percentages of something it's not considered acceptable to blame for violent crime. The other state has an exceptionally high percentage of something else. It's included in the name of the state...
And perhaps I should explain that Real Life ('RL') doesn't work like a video game. Unlike when you do things with your PlayStation controls, there's a time lag, between decisions made by leaders, and the effects of those decisions. Results of decisions can manifest themselves, GENERATIONS after those decisions have been made into law or policy. In Mississippi's case, we're still dealing with the ever-growing results of decisions made by the state's leaders of bygone eras - leaders who were DEMOCRATS.
