The District at Eastover issued the following press release.
The District at Eastover is pleased to announce the addition of several new retailers,
expanding the development’s retail offering and distinct lineup of local
boutiques. Just in time for the
holidays, The District Drugs & Mercantile Holiday Pop-Up Shop and Elizabeth
Clair’s, a fine china and gift shop, are now open. These openings follow the November opening of
Nursery Rhymes, a baby and children’s boutique.
District
Drugs Holiday Pop-Up
District Drugs & Mercantile has
opened a holiday pop-up shop in The District, offering a variety of gift items
including candles, jewelry, accessories, totes, art, bath products and holiday
treats, with a focus on Mississippi-made products including Blue Deer Candles, Primos
Cheese Straws and Hi Y’all Made in the South. A few notable brands at the pop-up include Votivo
Candles, Mudpie, Musee Bath, Russel Stover Candies, Peepers and Judy Pound
Cakes.
The pop-up offers a glimpse of the
merchandise mix that will be available at District Drugs & Mercantile once
open in January. District Drugs & Mercantile will be the only independently
owned pharmacy in Jackson with special customer services such as free delivery,
curbside pickup, convenient hours
including a 24-hour emergency number, medication therapy management, Medicare
Part D enrollment consultation and unparalleled local service. District Drugs Owner and Pharmacist,
Whitney Harris, has long dreamed of owning her own pharmacy.
“During my years as a pharmacist at Beemon
Drugs, I loved building relationships with customers and staying updated on
their lives,” said Harris. “When
Beemon's closed, I knew it was the right time to start District Drugs &
Mercantile in The District at Eastover. We’re looking forward to continuing
Beemon’s tradition of personable customer service.”
The District Drugs Holiday Pop-Up Shop is open Monday
through Friday from 12-6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The shop is

The District is starting to feel like Highland Village did in the 90s and 2000s. I hope they keep up the mostly local tenets.
You're killing the "Jackson is Dead" crowd.
Wow, curbside delivery! I thought Wal-Mart was the only one who offered that....and they've got convenient hours. Wal-Mart Pharmacies sure better watch out!!
1:14 PM, I should have you know that Wal-Mart offers the best prices and customer service in the Jackson-metro area. Their pharmacists are highly educated and credentialed. I know mine on a first name basis and know that he researches EVERYTHING before he ever makes a recommendation.
At least there aren't any new offerings of more bland, over-priced,small-portions of food at the food court.
Th is pharmacy doesn't cater to the wal-mart crowd... don't you know it's for the private school NE Jackson tennis and country club crowd that hotty toddy on the weekend at the condos in oxford
The churn is coming. Only a fool would think that the District is competing against WalMart.
I'm ready for a boutique gun store to open in The District. Some place that specializes in NFA weapons like preban UZIs, Galils, M16s, and FN FALS. Especially battle rifles with war provenance.
3:33 PM, well considering Domino's Pizza won't deliver to locations within 10 minutes of the District (i.e. "parts of North Jackson"), it wouldn't be a bad idea.
Boutique = Overpriced
@4:33
When it come to NFA weapons, if you have to ask the price then you can't afford it. Think $80,000 legally transferable machine guns. Real select fire assault weapons. Pre-ban stuff. Rich boy toys. Check out the Forgotten Weapons channel on YouTube.
@4:33 or it means locally sourced items not made in China
Sounds to me like a few people from up north who live in fake stucco houses in pastures are quite jealous of the District.
What’s fake stucco?
4:12 am It's like the difference between a plastic veneer that looks like wood and solid wood.
One is an acrylic and aggragate mixed thin coating and the other is cement and lime and sand that is slowly applied and dried in multiple coats.
1:48 pm Walmart and Walgreen's doesn't deliver to your home. That can be very important to the caregiver of an ill family member. Also, I've had to use Walgreen's since Beemon's closed and it is difficult to talk to a pharmacist in person or by phone about any problems ( like the doctor not scheduling a new app't before your prescription expires or pills that get spilled and go down the sink drain. You have to go through the doctor's receptionist,then nurse , then wait. The pharmacist gets a quick response. At Beemon's you could ask the pharmacist a question and have an answer in seconds. And, there, they knew you well enough to know whether you needed child proof caps.
Customer service matters to those of us who remember when it was common and not uncommon. The new " Welcome to..." shouts when the door opens isn't a substitute for help when needed or being able to quickly purchase what you need.
1. Make your next appointment when you are seeing the doctor.
2. Stay away from the sink when you take medicine.
Pretty easy. You must be out now.
Still glad I moved out of JXN. Fix the streets!
I have a hard time ordering from a restaurant where the server/order taker has a full neck tattoo and 6 silver danglings in her face.
Looking for like button 9:33.
@9:33
Is that really what bothers you the most? For me is is a kitchen full of illegals. If I see illegals working in the restaurant than I assume no hygiene is being practiced. I've never seen them washing their hands after using the restroom.
@2:05 is jealous.
Am I the only one who saw a crane-truck with a Dollar General sign in the parking lot yesterday? Rumor has it they're gonna stock some really high thread-count silk sheets. And the coupons are gonna put Bed-Bath to shame.
I found it odd they allowed Beckham in there rather than allowing juniker. Especially considering the owners of juniker lives 1 mile away in eastover
