31% vaccination rate + one measles virus = seventy deaths in Samoa. The Wall Street Journal reported last week:
A measles outbreak in the Pacific island nation of Samoa has killed more than 60 people, prompting authorities to declare a two-day curfew to accelerate immunizations while taking aim at antivaccination groups.
The government ordered businesses to close and vehicles to stay off the roads from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Residents were told to fly red banners from their homes if anyone inside needed vaccines, and officials went door-to-door immunizing people. About 17,500 people were vaccinated Thursday, and roughly 3,100 more Friday morning.
Overall, the effort brought the country’s vaccination rate to 89% of eligible people, the government said Saturday. But 103 new cases and two more deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, it said.
Most of the fatalities have been children under 4 years old, and more than 4,400 people have been sickened—about 2% of the population of roughly 200,000....
The U.S. recorded about 1,200 measles cases in the first nine months of this year, the most since 1992, including an outbreak in New York City concentrated in ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities. No U.S. deaths have been reported.
In Samoa, which comprises two main islands and is separate from the U.S. territory of American Samoa, the government declared a state of emergency in mid-November and made vaccination mandatory. Free vaccines have been offered around the country and help has come from all over the world—including a team of more than 50 nurses and doctors from Hawaii, led by Lt. Gov. Josh Green, a physician....
In 2018, just 31% of Samoans were vaccinated against measles, according to Unicef and World Health Organization estimates, well below the 95% rate that experts say is needed to protect the entire population from an outbreak. Since the outbreak, however, Samoan officials have taken a hard line against antivaccine activists. One person has been charged with incitement against the vaccination order, according to the government.
Doctors say vaccines are safe for most people, and they are increasingly concerned about the influence of the antivaccine movement. Richard Kidd, a primary care physician in Brisbane, Australia, said if the vaccination rate of a community drops below the 95% threshold, it endangers people who can’t get vaccinated—such as children under 12 months, who are too young to get the measles vaccine. Kingfish note: The death toll now stands at 70. Pay attention, Central Mississippi Tea Party.

Parents of Mississippi Get Your Germy Kids Vaccinated!
These kids of the anti vacs already have some form of autism. So zero risk in going ahead and vaccinating.
Yep, nasty, diseased, unvaccinated children, regardless of who their parents are or how wealthy they are, spread this PREVENTABLE disease, causing deaths and permanent impairments for victims. I will not hesitate to publicly call out and shame any parent who fails to vaccinate their kids unless there is a compelling, SCIENTIFIC reason not to vaccinate them.
Now we'll hear from the whiners, conspiracy theorists, Hollywood trash, holders of debunked causation theories (autism), and people who don't want guv'ment telling them what to do. It all boils down to ignorance.
People are BORN with autism. It is genetic. It develops during gestation when the brain fails to properly form, consistent with brain/neurological development in the majority of humans. Don't cohabit with an autistic person if you don't want to have autistic offspring. Vaccinations have nothing to do with autism.
You mf’ers are willing to ignore an awful lot of children who have been irreparably damaged from vaccines. Healthy children that developed severe disabilities within hours of receiving a vaccine. No one is arguing that we don’t need vaccines, or that they have been a historic improvement for humanity. So are the police, but we hold them accountable, right? So give the vaccine manufacturers (Big Pharma!) some accountability, put the brakes on the rapidly expanding vaccine schedule, and maybe you’ll have less opposition, gotdammit! As it stands now, the manufacturers are shielded from ALL liability, while they make billions. Or, just go ahead with your childish binary allegiances, you fucking sheep.
You can thank the Libertarians for things like this. Just like they think marijuana cures cancer and 10k mg of vitamin C keeps you from getting the flu. My liberal friends sit back and laugh now that republicans have their own wacky people to deal with.
Samoa, today, is known primarily for its epidemic of Super-morbid Obesity. This is caused, not by the fatty foods exported to that nation, but by consumption of sugar and other high-glycemic foods. The average IQ is 88.
Sugar suppresses the immune system. Around 22 teaspoons of sugar, consumed within a 24-hour period, is enough to "completely knock-out" a person's immune system. One two-liter bottle of soda pop contains around 40 teaspoons of sugars. If you've ever observed a super-morbidly obese Jackson woman's consumption habits, you'll know that one bottle of her favorite soft drink is what she goes through in a day. The same rate of sugar consumption is true of Samoa, and (if corn-syrup-laden "infant formula" is included) is typical, now, from cradle to grave.
So, you have an island nation whose children and elderly are immunosuppressed, And you have a population with cognitive limitations which would tend to preclude effective antiviral strategies.
Samoans are like a dream team for Big Pharma and the Medical Industry.
On the other hand, a population is actually STRENGTHENED (in a Darwinian sense), when a significant number of its individuals are killed by a disease (or rendered less likely to reproduce). The genes of the stronger/more resistant individuals are passed on to future generations.
I wonder how many time 10:39's mom dropped him on his head as a child????
To quote Bugs Bunny, "What a maroon"!!!
Just sit there in mom's house and shut up.
Doubtless the next site for destination conference/vacation for anti-vaxxer movement.
Unvaccinated children are significantly healthier than vaxxed kids.
