Note: Posted below is the video of the March 19 special meeting of the Pelahatchie Board of Aldermen.
Local NAACP honcho Wayne McDaniels blasted Pelahatchie Mayor Ryshonda Beechem because she dared to - gasp - appear on a fund-raising invitation for a Republican.

Perhaps the local NAACP should change its name to the NAADCP - National Association for the Advancement of Democratic Colored People. Of course, the fact that Mr. Guest just happens to be the District Attorney for Mayor Beechem's county might have something to do with the support. One can tell that Mr. McDaniels was just dying to use the words "Uncle Tom" as she made the mistake of getting off of the NAACP plantation. For some reason, this Facebook post wasn't mentioned in the Clarion-Ledger's coverage of the Mayor last week.
Meanwhile, the Pelahatchie Board of Aldermen met on March 19 at a special meeting. The board voted to reopen the search for a city clerk and deputy city clerk. The municipal court clerk has been acting as the interim city clerk since the clerks quit several weeks ago. Mayor Ryshonda Beechem asked the Board to hire her as she said she was doing a "great job." The Board agreed with her assessment of her job performance but said it wanted to hire from a pool of candidates.
The rest of the twenty-minute meeting was rather boring and uneventful although the Board voted, at the Mayor's request, to begin having work sessions on the third Monday of every month at 6:00 PM.
Kingfish note: The meetings last only an hour to an hour and a half. Last night's meeting ended after only fifty minutes. Why do they need a work session?

How about same old, same old.
Do they get additional pay for extra work sessions? If so, how much?
So.. The answer to ending racism is to continue racism? I'm so confused by this man.
How did all this happen? Knox Ross had the city in such great shape.I would have thought he would have had a good replacement lined up.
He needs to tighten up his grammar before he takes to criticizing someone else.
NAACP = Dim-O-Krat ='s dumb as a rock!!!!!! And oh yea Racist!!
Mr. McDaniels is another of those so-called black "leaders' whose every strategic decision is intended to maintain the status quo, i.e. black folks beholden to his hierarchy and the democratic party. They forget that it was independent thought and the quest for political empowerment and a better deal that led black people away from their roots in the republican party to the democrats in the first place. Or then again, maybe they have not forgotten. They don't want it to happen again.
Wonder why she left city hall today when she found out the Ch 3 was coming to meet with her and while she is gone tge citizens cant pay their bills due to the fact the police is running city hall. But she ckaims to work 40 - 50 hours a week
Mr. McDaniels' rant should be (not sayingn it will be) an embarrassment to the NAACP. Otherwise, KF, thanks for teaching me a new term. Wasn't familiar with Uniform Tango and had to look it up. That will come in handy in the future.
@ 1200 Huh?
I thought we were trying to reach unity, togetherness, and all the buzz words used today by the liberals and race hustlers. Is this not what they want?
looks like he's already taken the post down, i was curious what the comments were like...bummer.
Mayor Beechem was at City Hall today, running the office without a city clerk present.
Mayor Beechem is willing to meet with any news media at agreed upon times.
Mayor Beechem stepped away for a town-related meeting around lunchtime, and the police kept city hall open to answer the phones.
Mayor Beechem ran as an independent.
She left about 9:30 and it was well after 2:30 when she got back!!! And she told the officer at city hall by phone that she would be back around lunch time but I guess since she is hardly ever at city hall its hard for her to tell time!! Cause she always late for meetings and I'm not talking late by like 5 - 10 minutes I'm talking late as in 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. That's great way to portray the Town. Let's ask her about the request for money that she has asked for the day she was at the capital for the Mill Town park project?
I suspect that work sessions are used to avoid taking minutes, which allow for discussion without creating a public record. Then, after all the discussion is heard and a decision, a formal vote is taken and recorded in the regular board meeting. I'm not sure if such a practice is legal, but it certainly is unethical.
4:12, what it is, is SAD. Sad that a government is having to do those things to continue to exist.
Maybe someone should look up the mayor's campaign finance records. There are very few candidates with a campaign organization truly independent of a major political party. You can't use Party X's connections to help your campaign and then get upset that they don't like that you endorsed Party Y's candidate.
Oh snap! @4:08 just called someone out!! Get da popcorn ready....
A former black Republican Mayor of Tchula was treated far worse by the black Democrat dominated Board than she would have been treated by the present KKK.
Lol Bellinder, no party affiliations are listed on the ballots in Pelahatchie, never have been. Try again. She is in support of Guest because she is slick, her though is if I support him, he stays off me. I cant believe she still has you fooled.
