That was quick. The city of Ridgeland issued the following statement:
By late morning on Wednesday, April 11, the roadwork for County Line Road will be completed, and both lanes will be open to traffic. Ridgeland’s contractor Dickerson & Bowen expedited the project and finished the roadwork in an impressive seven calendar days.Seven days instead of thirty. Who trained these guys, Chick-Fil-A?
Motorists will see workers installing new traffic signal detection equipment this week and putting down permanent pavement markings in the next couple of weeks. Neither of those aspects of the project will impede travel for more than a short period of time.

What...three miles? The Trans Alaskan Highway was built in a couple of months.
My goodness @11:29 AM, why not be happy that it didn't take over a year to complete as it did the City of Jackson to resurface Ridgewood south from County Line? I haven't driven on County Line as of yet, but I am willing to bet that it is a much better job than Ridgewood. Not one of the sewer/manhole covers was raised on Ridgewood. Might as well still have the potholes!
12:13 sniping is the only thing the kool-aid drinkers like 11:29 can do to draw attention away from the total and absolute dysfunctional failure of Jackson.
While Hinds County is closing roads and bridges, Madison County is opening them up. I wonder what the difference is?
I have to drive County line every day. They did a great job, but it also slowed traffic flow down greatly. They did not overlay existing, they "cut" up the old wearing surface and re-layed a very nice new surface, and dug out around the man holes, manually and mechanically (they can't be cut up like the rest of the wearing surface is). The contractor did a great job, and maintained a pretty safe worksite considering traffic. I am a life long Jackson resident, and this work compared to the fiasco that was Ridgewood Road is night and day. I love living in Jackson, but to say city leadership / quality control / etc is incompetant, well, its so bad, incompetent is a compliment!!
@1:37 the people whom approve the funds drive more Madison County roads than Hinds County roads.

12:30 - You fail to realize it, but 11:29 is of the same opinion as you are. There is nothing special about a two mile section of road being completed in weeks. And we all know it would have taken a contract overseen by Jacktown at least five times that long. Let's not celebrate mediocrity, shall we.
