Welcome to Matchbook Monday. Several matchbooks of Jackson's past are
posted below. Feel free to add your stories or any information about
them in the comments section. Enjoy these blasts from the past. Readers
can email copies of any old matchbooks they might have to
kingfish1935@gmail.com.
A Jackson matchbook collection would be nothing without one from Primos:
Casey Brothers on Delta Drive passed out matchbooks as well.
Next up is one of the Holy Grails of matchbook collecting in Jackson.

Bring back the Lamar!
Primos: Does anyone remember for certain how many locations there were? I'm thinking two on Capitol, one on N. State next to the old Baptist Hospital, then further up State at Northgate in the 60's, maybe about the time they started closing down the Capitol locations? Were there others?
Casey Bro's: Can't say for sure I remember this one, but something about it rings a bell and I did spend a lot of time on (then) Delta Drive in my early teens at the various used parts dealers. Regardless, love the pinup image. Not PC today, but very common in anything automotive back in the day, and to some extent still though "cleaned up" and not so available to the public.
The Lamar: Can't say anthing abou the post theatre days. I avoided anything disco at the time.
Thanks, KF! Fun as always.
If you managed to find a box of matches from the Lamar that aren't soaked in the puke of a teenager, then that is a rare find indeed!
The lady sitting on that Jack O'Lantern is positioned right where the pumpkin stem could be...well...
I mean that skirt is awfully short and all...
Real bong matches!

Assume you’re referencing the Pirelli calendar and suchlike?
"Take the old records off the shelf"
.50cent longnecks!
Pee filled.... oh nevermind, if you were there you know.
For the Purest I know I'm talking about the New Lamar, But damn I had fun, James had to correct my behavior more than once.
.50cent longnecks?
You mean they actually sold longnecks for half a cent? Didn't think so.
Math shore is tuff, right sparky?
Does anyone have matches from the old Hat & Cane, the Zodiac, or the Dutch Bar? My fake ID worked at all of those places back in the day...
