JPD issued the following statement.
Jackson Police are investigating a business robbery that occurred in the 300 block of Briarwood Drive.
Shortly after 12:30pm,
Officers responded to an in-progress robbery of the Dollar General.
Once they arrived, two black males suspects were observed fleeing the
store. Officers gave chase and after a brief foot pursuit, both suspects
were apprehended.
Officers canvassed the area and recovered evidence that included
items believed to have been taken from customers who were also robbed.
It later appeared that officers arrived so quickly that the suspects
were not able to take any cash belonging to the
business.
Store surveillance captured the incident which corroborated the information officers were provided.
Both suspects are being transported for questioning and are facing
three counts of Armed Robbery of an Individual and one count of
Attempted Armed Robbery of a Business.
Investigators are also attempting to determine if both suspects are
responsible for another recent business robbery that occurred earlier
this morning.
The identities of the suspects have not yet been released.

Don't worry. They will be released by Monday afternoon.
And the judges will issue a deadline, RSS won't bring charges, and all the good work and quick response JPD did will be for naught....
Looks like tomie Green will set them free monday. I'd be pissed if I were a police officer busting my a$$ and RSS or green bails them out.
There are step by step videos on youtube describing how to rob dollar general...
Go JPD!And they ran them down;awesome!!
Once again JPD does great work, especially considering their pay and limited resources. JPD does not get nearly enough credit in my opinion.
If Hinds County had judges and a DA worth a s__t the crime would be much more comparable to the surrounding area.
Glad someone was there to answer 911 and send help. I have called 911 on three separate dates (auto burglary, assaulted by a stranger, and reported accident) while in the City of Jackson and no one ever answered any of the three calls.
I have no idea how to rob a Dollar General. But I do remember in all the old Fred's stores, years ago, the manager and bookkeeper's desks were raised up four feet at the front of the store. I suspect they could get the drop on you if you attempted a robbery.
