A DPS employee was arrested yesterday. Attorney General Jim Hood issued the following press release:
JACKSON—Today, Attorney General Jim Hood announced the arrest of a Hazlehurst woman charged with one count of insurance fraud.Joyce Corley, 57, turned herself in to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday following her indictment by a Madison County grand jury. Corley is accused of presenting an altered Explanation of Benefits to Southern Administrators and Benefit Consultants, Inc., of Ridgeland, in order to be reimbursed for medical expenses for which she had already received reimbursement. Her bond was set at $5,000.If convicted, Corley faces up to three years in prison and a $5,000 fine. A charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. This case was investigated by Investigator Jerry Spell with the Attorney General’s Insurance Integrity Enforcement Bureau with assistance from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. Special Assistant Attorney General Robert G. (“Bob”) Anderson will prosecute the case.
Corley apparently works at the Mississippi Department of Public Safety:

Meanwhile; Neither the AG nor the FBI will step foot in Madison County Where there's big-time crime going on for years.
Phew, I thought that was my new lady friend for a second but the names don't match up.
Interesting, she was responsible for millions of dollars of grant money at homeland security - makes one wonder how many documents she altered there, and if any of that money went missing. Looks like it's time for an audit!
10:10 Bro. Bennie Thompson of Bolton is the head of the Homeland Security Congressional Committee.... Let that sink in for a minute before you question her work there.
I knew Joyce years ago. She was such a sweet person - just went down the wrong path a long time ago. Sad for her family.
10:35
You would be incorrect. Bennie Thompson is not the head of Homeland Security Congressional Committee. A Republican is. And second, she is a state not a federal employee. A state with a Republican governor. Let that sink in for a minute. It will help you understand why she thought could take money that did not belong to her. She has clearly been around to many Republican staffers, contractors, and consultants.
Got news for you 5:37. The word 'congressional' has meaning. It means either a member of congress or an employee of that body. It does not mean a state employee. Please take your ass to the back of the class and roll up some more spit-balls.
Do you really, though, want to discuss money, favors and privilege back when Thompson was head of the Homeland Security Delegation some years back?
@6:29 It's bad to be ignorant. It's worse to be ignorant and think you are correct. Please do your research. "Corley apparently works at the Mississippi Department of Public Safety"-This is a Mississippi Agency, not a federal agency.
Again, Bennie Thompson may have be head "a few years back", but he aint head now. A Republican from Texas is, I believe.
P.S. Before you comment, let Google be your friend.
6:29 pm The majority party " heads" all the committees in both the House and the Senate.
The majority party in both the House and the Senate is now Republican.
The Democrats can't " obstruct" anything the Republicans want to do unless enough Republicans choose to vote with the Democrats.
You are not alone obviously in not understanding how Congress works if the posts I read blaming the media and Democrats ( including those no longer in office) for obstructing Republicans in this administration from getting " things done".
Look up which both has controlled the House and the Senate in past years and then decide which party has been "obstructionist" in which years.
7:05; Hate to see you wake up to this disappointment, but, Thompson is indeed the ranking member on the Homeland Security Commission, although he enjoys no power or privilege other than being tethered to the mainstream press. When the Dems were in power, he was even 'more rank', as he was then Chair. Thompson was never 'head' of any Mississippi Department of Public Safety committee, delegation or anything else. It appears you got your wires crossed. You posted at both 7:05 and 10:35, appearing to contradict yourself. Google is indeed a friend to all. But a good memory is also beneficial.

Who gives a shit about who is the chair or ranking member of any congressional committee - I want to know if Corley doctored any documents and steered money from federal grants to her own use.
I'd be willing to bet this isn't her first rodeo, and considering how DPS handles grant money, they probably have no idea...
7:04; I am 6:29. What do you see in my post that leads you to believe I don't know how government works? I said nothing about 'obstruction' or 'majority party'.
Do you post EVERY arrest that Jim Hood's office makes, or do you just single out people who work for DPS or other agencies you don't care for? Shameful.
Just when the Extreme-Irony-Buzzer goes off, 11:12. Can't you see it?
I post his press releases all the time when it involves a local case. But I suspect you already know that.
