Mike is a great person for the job!
Oh good...another right wing zealot.....wth political ambitions....
5:54 - because these appointments are so much different than what 0bama did. Get real.
Personally, I like Mike. A real family man with lots of experience. He was a Federal Prosecuter, I think. Should be good for law and order.
I believe Mike would do a great job!
He's an awesome person and will do a great job.
Congrats Mike. Good guy. Thank you Senator Cochran for using your clout to get us a federal appointment from Mississippi.
He's a douche
Licking boots
He could be a partner at a major firm but instead he's sucking tits at the public trough......on purpose.....to later groan on about what a public servant he has been.....
Jesus it's pathetic
Great choice! Hurst will do an outstanding job!

Did you think they were going to appoint someone from mars instead?
For 5:54...Gee, ain't it sad he didn't pick a left-wing lunatic instead.
Might be worth noting that Trump is depriving Mississippi of one of its seats on the Fifth Circuit, replacing Judge Jolly with a Louisiana pick. (Philip Thomas has more at his blog.)
Great work by our two senators, letting that happen!
At the very least he's not a scumbag from Oxford, at best, he's going to go after the corruption in this state like a firestorm. There are literally billions to be recouped across numerous agencies, and too many needed indictments to count.
If you're a Republican don't fear a corruption indictment.
Don't be too sure. Could Hurst become corrupted? Yes. Is he a crusader that many in the corrupt "Republican" Oxford/Jackson inner circle call a former persecutor rather than prosecutor? Yes. He ain't scared of them MF's. By the way, who and where is "Chad" Lamar? If anyone's not likely to touch the Plantation, it's one of their own.
Mike Hurst was breve enough to call this state one of the nation's most corrupt. And it is. For anyone to suggest that Mike is part of that corrupt cabal entrenched establishment (comprised of low-life parasites from both parties who feed on government, our state's most lucrative industry) just doesn't know Mike. Here's a guy who worked for everything he got. He is the son of a log truck driver who put himself through George Washington University law by means of his own intelligence and determination. I hope he indeed does aspire to higher office one day, too. He caliber and character is far and away superior to some of our state's current leadership. The only down side I see is that Mississippi's most touched-up faux Republican, Lynn Fitch, could likely run for AG with the bespoke blessing of Jim Hood now that Mike will be US attorney and she has failed to secure any federal appointment In Washington. That's ironic, but watch out MS GOP, a Trojan horse lurks in your midst.
