Marshall Ramsey nails it today.

See below.  His name was Robert Gray.  His name was Robert Gray.

Additional question: Should the leadership of the Mississippi Democratic Party resign?

In regard to Ms Slater's campaign-the results show the tremendous political influence of the Jackson Free Press.

Ms Slater should buy a truck.

I voted in the Democratic primary because of the local races. I did not know who Mr. Gray was, but I also had never heard of any of the others. If I remember correctly I voted for Slater because she seem like the longshot.

The democrat party in Mississippi is a clown car. Of course, if you need a CDL to operate a clown car, they're covered.

@ 1:53: Perfect example of a low information voter. You are what's wrong with this country. Go to the polls COMPLETELY uninformed, and vote for the one that seems like "the longshot". What a tool.

Not clear to me what a resignation of the leadership would achieve. You can't spend money on recruiting and supporting candidates that you don't have.

You know how the tea party is practically spitting on the current Republican establishment?
Yeah, well, the same thing is happening to the Democratic Party Nation wide.
Joe noseF thinks he knows what's going on, but he hasn't a clue and neither does Donna Ladd or the MS Democratic Party.
The political analysts cannot analyze a truly organic grass roots movement on both sides that's not being talked about but rather felt and what basically amounts to a big big @$€$ You.

That's what's up buttercups.

Bingo, 2:47. The best leaders in the world would have little to lead among Mississippi Democrats. I know they were hoping to keep them in the bullpen for a later date, but some of the hotshot mayors and young legislators may need to start loosening up. Brandon Presley can't be the Democrats' only hope.

It doesn't matter.

If someone as reasonable as Gene Taylor is unacceptable to the MS electorate (but Mullah Bryant is), you've all jumped the shark.

The Mississippi Democrat Party will continue to field candidates for as many positions that are up for grabs over the next 20 years, while lying in wait, knowing that the demographics will be working in their favor by that time--as the white, 50 plus age group dies off and the voting population becomes "darker". Unless the cycle is broken the Democrat Plantation strategy will continue to lure more and more people of color into a life of more and more government subsistence.

Nice Fight Club reference.

I was called a low information voter for an earlier comment, and in relation to this race that is totally accurate. There was little, if any, information readily available. Why would I waste my time trying to research candidates that don't have any chance at all? Gov. Feel ain't much, but he's the best we've got and will win by a landslide.

Demtard primary voter (this time) said...

@ 3:57, Secret agent man was reasonable ? Feel is a mullah ? Figure out who has more power in this state, then cipher why who is where now, libtard dingleberry. Jackholes, jackholes everywhere.

"Libtard"? Well, thanks for reinforcing the point.

Yeah, I said it ! Libtard... said...

Musta overlooked the dingleberry part, 10:47. Google it Sheeple.

Anonymous said...

Please assert yourself with some sort of intelligence. Libtard is overplayed. You might as well say, "useful idiot".
And no, we're not all sheeple.
I've heard "libtard" so many times since Palin learned how to ring the political cash register & hopped on the national stage that, at this point, it simply doesn't have any meaning besides someone disagreeing ( even a fellow conservative) with you militant political views.
You do yourself and your cause a disservice by using the word "libtard".

"The way to handle the abortion problem is more jobs. If people is workin', they can't be havin' sex, now can they? So we won't be needin' abortions."

(Mr. Gray's statement/question to Gallo 8/6)

Notwithstanding the fact that a democrat has no desire to 'deal with' abortion anyway.

OMG

Way to pretend we don't have political parties who give us choices of Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest or else Slick, Slicker and Slickest con men playing to your fears and insecurities!

God forbid we would look past party affiliation to see if the candidate has any competence to do the job for which he or she is running! God forbid we should expect ideas, plans and solutions rather than meaningless rhetoric geared to the base biases and emotions of the moment!

Those of you who think race, professing to be a church going Christian, slogans and/or party affiliation gets you a good elected officials who won't embarrass the State, you aren't " informed voters".

Let me just remind some of you of Jon Hinson and Kirk Fordice and I shouldn't have to remind those of you who would have voted for McDaniel if he could have controlled his supporters! And, you Dems cannot possibly be proud of Fitch or Stokes for starters!

10:36: When you sober up (You've had seven hours) will you please come back and try real hard to explain your last paragraph? Um thanks. Let's not even discuss the sentence prior to that one.

If you are in search of some levity go read some of Donners comments on JFP and her explanation of why the Dems are running Smokey and the Bandit for Guv. She would be a happier woman in Chicago or Detroit. She reminds me of the old adage - why are you hitting yourself in the head with a hammer? Because it is going to feel so good when I stop.

Anonymous said...

I had to go and see for myself (googled him) and sure enough the Dems have an Elvis Impersonator as their Lt. Guv nominee. I wonder how JFP will cover this....I am laughing so hard I am crying.

MS Dem party 2015 Election Campaign Slogans:

Guv- Breaker, breaker, good buddy
Lt Guv - I'm all shook up or a hunk a hunk of burning love

Dem Ticket 2015 - Cledus and Elvis take Mississippi.

Democrats in Mississippi push black candidates just because they are black. There is no reasoning with them. Vicki, Dorsey, Jim Roberts, Bill Luckett, etc. All of them fail for being white and they don't get it.

Republicans in Mississippi, while much more tolerant of racial issues (i.e. will vote for a black republican before a democrat will vote for a white democrat), still push against black candidates.

This polarization will have a very negative end when blacks are 50 + 1 of the voting populace in Mississippi.

You can't blame the Mississippi Democratic Party leadership. That isn't their job. If Slater was "supposed" to win it was her campaign's job to make that happen. Slater failed. The Party didn't.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
