Our favorite psycho is back in jail but this time he is enjoying the hospitality of Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker. Raymond Ethan Thomas was charged with witness intimidation and trespassing on private property to steal two dogs from Lindsay Thomas. He was denied bond for the witness intimidation charge. Witnesses told JJ that Ms. Thomas was visibly terrified when she appeared in court earlier this week. A restraining order was imposed on Mr. Thomas as well.
Mr. Thomas was arrested earlier this year in Alabama for purchasing ATVs and a Rolex watch with forged checks. He also attempted to buy a $10,000 mattress and furniture under false pretenses as well. He is free from the Alabama charges on a $580,000 bond.
Mr. Thomas is quite known to JJ readers. His first brush with the law was in college. He was a Senatobia cop while he attended Mississippi State. He was kicked out of a fraternity and denied reinstatement by a student committee. He planted drugs on the vehicle of the committee chairman and had him arrested. Mr. Thomas was sentenced to a little over a year in jail. Earlier post about MSU drug-plantin'.
Mr. Thomas was arrested in 2011 for impersonating a federal officer. Prosecutors reduced the felony charge to one that was a misdemeanor, tampering with a government record. Read the affidavit in this post. Its highly entertaining to read. He was sentenced to 120 months in prison and given credit for time served (a little over two months.). However, Carol Robinson of Al.com wrote perhaps the best description of Mr. Thomas in a 2015 story:
She also reported in the same story:
Raymond Ethan Thomas is not who he appears to be. Ever....
Authorities say Thomas, a husband and father, is a career criminal, but those who know him say he suffers from mental issues. Thomas was released from the county jail on Wednesday after posting $580,000 bond. "He has bonded out where he will be able to receive the necessary treatment that he needs, which is not available in the Jefferson County Jail,'' said Birmingham attorney Tommy Spina. (Mr. Spina, you might want to find him a different nuthouse.). Rest of article.Kingfish note: Next question: Will Alabama revoke his bond?
*It is not known if she is his current or past wife.
