The city of Jackson issued the following statement.
The O.B. Curtis Water Plant made significant gains overnight and into this morning. There are some challenges remaining to navigate over the next few days, but the outlook for today is currently continued progress.
Over half of the tanks on the surface system have begun filling back up. Others will make gains as we progress. Many areas throughout Jackson now have some pressure. Areas closer to the plant are experiencing almost normal pressure. Areas further from the plant and at higher elevations are still experiencing low to no pressure. This pressure will improve as the tank levels increase.
The total plant output has increased to 78 PSI. The goal on the surface system is 87 PSI.
There are still challenges to navigate as the intake water source changes chemistry again. Operator schedules have been adjusted to increase coordination between shifts.
We have also been working diligently on the plant assessment and have begun initial projects to increase the stability of the system. This initial work includes a series of repairs and equipment adjustments on site. We have also sourced additional chemicals to have some better ability on site to contend with the changing intake water chemistry.
We have multiple contractors on site doing assessment work today. With the support of our partners at the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Health, we are also sourcing immediate staffing support including operators and maintenance staff. We have also begun the process of expediting some of the projects that were already being planned. These items each will contribute significantly to the stability of the OB Curtis plant.
The EPA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have also joined us on site today. The Joint Incident Command team continues to work collaboratively and is in close coordination.

The lies continue. Replace "we" with "they".
So these other governments are “partners”? Lumumba’s people do not miss the chance to be pathetic. Jackson doesn’t have partners. Jackson is like a kid sitting on the sidewalk with his thumb in his mouth watching adults fix his tricycle
When I read this, sounds like Jackson is making real progress...Reading between the lines...Jackson administration is trolling and watching from a distance at the heavy lift work being done by the "real" folks. Probably stumbling over themselves trying to be the first to report ANY progress..
With the state emergency declaration Lumumba doesn't control OBC at this time. He's trying to project an administrative competence that doesn't exist.
The city and county representatives on the Joint Incident Command team are observers at best, and are there as a courtesy only.
What gets me in a twist is all the noise coming in from around the nation and the way EVERY national news station is reporting it wrong. It is being reported that it is the state's fault and not the city. It's being reported the entire state is without water. And the sheer hatred and ugliness that people have for the state of Mississippi... It's staggering. What they say is true... a lie will travel around the world before the truth even puts its boots on. Best of luck, Jackson. You are at death's door.

Came here just to say this.
Antar was on Morning Joe yesterday & today, ditto for the CNN morning show.
He’s free to gaslight with no pushback. I wish the governor’s comms staff would press for some time to correct the record.
The national news is reporting the Chowke administration's lies as fact. Why would a black mayor lie, right? Who has the balls to refute a black mayor, right?
Have it on good authority that the list of problems being discovered @ OB Curtis is staggering and goes far beyond a lack of attention to even the most basic maintenance needs.
Aaaaand STILL no one talking about the "letter" from the EPA he recieved and sat on/hid FOR OVER A YEAR !!!
I have not heard or seen anything about that...
Baghdad Bob would be proud of this press release
Translation: The city doesn't have a clue. The state and feds are in there now fixing everything and putting it back together. The city is simply watching and thinking "so this is what actual work looks like". A few of the city employees who actually did something are thinking "thank God I finally have some help". Marlin King and Mair Chokwe Lumumba are probably nowhere near it, because they didn't care in the first place, especially if the solution involved work and effort. As Kim Wade would say, they are probably wearing suits, passing out business cards, drinking Hennessy, and chasing big booty women.
You can't watch this interview with Bennie Thompson and conclude anything BUT that the job to receive federal funding has been completely botched by Lumumba.
“We have multiple contractors on site doing assessment work today. With the support of our partners at the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Health”
I laughed out loud at work when I read that. This is like a drunk leaving his stove on and catching his house on fire. As the fire truck arrives the drunk says “ok partners let’s work together!” No clown you get out of the way we’re here to clean up your mess.
MSNBC is blaming the water woes on white flight.
Meanwhile over at Fox News, Tucker Carlson, while acknowledging the seriousness of the water situation, was almost chuckling when he said the mayor’s goal is for Jackson to be the most radical city in the world.
Chokwe Lumumba gets in front of the cameras while his sister Rukia passes the hat and takes up collections. They are modern-day carnies.
Check the Twitter of those local Dems KF named yesterday. They copy pasta the same MSNBC regurgitation of lies and race baiting excuse making. 4th graders.
"A dog ate my water plant, Teacher!" "What kind of dog?" "Oh, oh, it was, uh, a scary, semi fascist white dog with a red neck, orange face, and blonde funny hair, Teacher!!!" "Oh, child, you are so lucky you weren't killed like AOC in that vicious racist attack on oppressed people and "democracy"!!!" "Uh huh, Teacher. That's right." Our MSDEM nod vigoruosly. Rachel Madcow cries softly.
And to think there are still 16% of hyphenated Americans who trust the MSM.
If they proceed to the 87psi goal prepare to see leaks under the roads like we haven't seen since the last big freeze/thaw. These pipes are not accustomed to having that much pressure in quite some time.
Rukia is more like a modern-day con artist.
This is one of the headlines on the Clarion-Ledger: “Flooding broke open Jackson's water crisis, but it can't be disentangled from race, experts say”, it leads to a USA TODAY article.
These people are pathetic. They would rather climb a tree backwards and tell a lie, than stand on the ground and speak the truth.
How can we have peace, and unity when division is continually forced down our throats?
City spin: "We have expedited projects already planned." Even Bennie T says City management had no plan. Leading from behind is ugly but typical for this punk mayor.
This blog is no different than the national media.
Totally spineless!
If you REALLY want to see how the leftist media portrays (lies about) what's going on here in Jackson now, just take a gander at this little jewel from today on CBS "News." I challenge you to count the number of lies in this clip. Also, look at how the leftists never waste a crisis, while encouraging their "partners" to participate in their gaslighting (e.g., look at who's distributing water in this clip)

@2:32 some of the flooding footage the national media was broadcasting as flooding in Jackson was actually footage from Highway 468 in Flowood. But accuracy doesn't matter when the narrative is about white racists in Mississippi.
Donna Ladd is absolutely, completely despicable! How much further from the truth could one person be? Her main goal for drawing breath is to foment racial turmoil! Any opportunity she can find to lie about perceived racism she’s going to take it. She’s the worst of the worst.
Watching TV and seeing the "help" roll into jackson, I notice one thing conspicuous absent.....
Where is all the help from the NAACP, BLM, National Coalition on Black Civic Participation and others????? Where's Jessie and Sharpless with all their positive help and words of encouragement? What no use for the down trodden Bruthas unless there is money to be made off em???
Just my thoughts
@12:27 Maybe so. Maybe not. One of the problems that has plagued our infrastructure is the lack of CONSISTENT water pressure. If this plant is repaired and back online on the regular so that it can sustain service throughout seasons, we could see more stability in the rest of the infrastructure.
The plan worked. Mayor Lumumba has now been elevated to a national figure in the fight for social justice against white supremacy. He is now a legitimate Civil Rights Icon.
Governor Tate Reeves is portrayed everywhere as a symbol of Mississippi’s endemic racism.
And this little gossip blog has been officially recognized as a platform of hate speech by the SPLC.
Sept 1, 2022 @ 4:44....
You have to understand that Donna Ladd is striving to be the epidemy of her heroes Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Rosie "O", Dianne Feinstein later in life.
Old, Bitter, Ugly and alone.....
People like the above grew up having no friends or self-esteem, so when they got away from home, they attached themselves to others just like them. That way when they got together to discuss the only word they know, the "R" word, they'd be able to brag about hanging out with their "friends" (meaning other losers with no life).
