So be on the lookout for stories about people stealing construction equipment and breaking into nearby stores
North State (from The Fondren all the way to County Line) has been 'under construction' for at least ten years.
Years ago when new roads were built or existing roads were reconstructed or repaved the "manholes' and other devices in the pavement were set to be level with the pavement. It has gotten where they no longer do so. This past Friday I traveled North State St. from Mitchell Ave to County Line Rd. While the new pavement is nice one still has to dodge the manholes that are not level with the pavement. Some of them are worse than the potholes that used to be in the pavement. Northside Dr. from North State to I-55 is just as bad. Sub-par contractors or inspectors that don't what they're doing?
That section of North State up to Briarwood is nice and straight....going to be a speedway.

Hemphill does it all, so ask them.
"one still has to dodge the manholes that are not level with the pavement."
Well 2:27, at least those things seem to be covered now.
If you are not familiar with what I'm talking about,

So has US 49 South…
Standing by for the latest "boil water notices" when the Friends of the Mayor Construction Company breaks a water main or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5...
When they get through with this, they are going to start work on fixing the water sewer issues.
This is obviously a dress-rehearsal for fixing the crime, water, sewer, street, zoo, and incompetent administration issues.
Meanwhile ................the pipes are lonely and the water still needs boiling. I guess an elected official must drive the route home.
Did this somehow displace the bums along State Street? I took a friend to Baptist Hospital before dawn this morning for outpatient surgery and had to sidestep 3 "homeless" men sleeping on the sidewalk and on a bus stop bench, and panhandling in front of the McDonalds.
Mr. Mayor and Galloway Church - please put the bums somewhere else. They should not be lurking outside a hospital.
