Dr. William Walker almost went back to prison after he failed to pay restitution yet again. U.S. District Judge Keith Starrett revoked the former DMR Executive Director's probation for thirty days yesterday but stayed sending him back to prison if he immediately began paying $6,500 per month.
Walker pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to defraud the government in 2014.
The Court sentenced him to serve five years in prison, fined him $125,000, and ordered him to pay restitution of $572,689. The order states:
The defendant was ordered to pay $572,689.14 in restitution and a $125,000 fine to be paid at a rate of $5,000.00 per month, The defendant failed to make any payment toward his financial obligation for July 2019, September 2019, October 2019, November 2019, and December 2019, He made a partial payment of $2,500.00 in January 2020 totaling $27,500.00 in default payments. U.S. Probation met with the defendant in February 2020 to address this issue of nonpayment. He was again re-instructed to make his payments as ordered, The defendant immediately paid $10,000.00 toward his restitution but not the full amount in default, as directed. Since the February 2020 meeting with the defendantJudge Starrett sent Walker back to prison in 2018 after he failed to make restitution payments even though the monthly income of he and his wife was $16,623 per month. Earlier post, Earlier post about living large. He has one year left to serve on his prison sentence.
and his immediate payment of $10,000.00, he has failed to make any additional payments, current or default.
Judge Starrett imposed some special conditions on Dr. Walker. The probation office will have full access to all of his financial information. He can't sell any assets. All retirement benefits will be deposited with the Jackson County Chancery Clerk to hold for the Court. All credit accounts of the Walkers are closed. Liens are placed on their life insurance policies.
The revocation is stayed as long as Walker pays $6,500 per month.

$10,000 to live off of a month is pretty good living in MS
Blast from the past. Surprised anybody remembers DMR exists.
Deppity Pheel has moved on fer shure!
Mississippi DMR...seems like one of the Barbour's was involved.
That's all you need to know about whether this thing was on the up and up or a giant crock of gimme some o' dat malfeasance.
I have never heard of Dr. Walker. Move along.
How long will our failed court system let this crooked, conceited snob embarrass our legal system?
Define 'immediately'. Wasn't Theresa Malone required to 'immediately report to prison'?
So is Scott cut off from his parents' money finally?
the only thing that is a bigger fraud than bill walker is the administrative agency he used to ''run''..... the dept of marine resources .
this agency was created by the legislature to administer our big, bad ,35 mile coastline.................isnt that what game and fish is supposed to do?????????
check it out all you numb nuts.....admininistrative agencies are created by the legislature so that politicians can hand out high paying ,,do nothing jobs to their cronies. all the while allowing them to rob the taxpayers blind......does the name chris epps ring a bell?........or that department head clown who stole millions from the dept of human services???
you idiots have no idea just how the government rackets work......................the next big ripoff will be through the dept of agriculture and commerce with their WILD hog trap program.
put this post in your archive and remember where you heard it first
Scotty was spotted the other day having his photo taken in front of one of the highway located biilboards his wife claims to have paid for that say in part "Thank You Scott" for paying the restitution you owed. I am surprised he has not directed her to buy some space here om JJ. While he drives around the Coast in his BMW work car trying to do real estate deals his parents lost total control of their income/finances due to his vacation trips to places like Croatia, paid for by his mom and dad, instead of paying back what they stole from the taxpayers. The federal judge strongly suggested in court that the state of Ms, should look into his potential elder abuse which is a felony. Of course, if convicted he would claim mental illness, which is probably true.
People who don't know or have forgotten, look up Michaela Hill, Bill Walker's executive assistant, who knew what was going on and tried to stop it. She was a daugher, wife, mother, grandmother, who committed suicide. I knew her personally years ago, and she was a beautiful woman, inside and out. All because of other people's greed. That's the sad part of this disgusting story.
Michaela received an offer from Bill Walker. Either lie to investigators or get blamed for the theft of millions. She went home at lunch that day and never came back. Michaela left behind many who loved and respected her. Bill Walker got away with murder in many different ways.
9:35 - So, you're suggesting there was/is no need for a State Department of Corrections or Welfare agency? That's what you said and I 'heard it here first'.
to the wise ass at 9;35.......you need to go back and read my post again.
i never said there was no need for a department of corrections and dept of welfare. what there is need for is some better over sight of administrative agencies in order it prevent their department heads from pillaging millions from the agency.
go enroll yourself in a reading comprehension class.
