Two hoodlums robbed a young lady at gunpoint on Arlington in Belhaven Saturday evening.
The victim parked on the street in front of her home. A young black male wearing a hoodie drawn over his face appeared out of nowhere while she was opening her door. The distance from the street to her house is around twenty feet.
He pointed a gun to her and demanded she give him her keys. Another young black male backed him up. He appeared to be around 15 years old. They stole her car and left her in an obvious state of fright but physically unharmed.
Several JPD units arrived in less than ten minutes once called. JPD recovered the vehicle last night but has not yet made any arrests. However, they had a roadblock on Jefferson Street last night so they are searching the area for these thugs.

Belhaven can get very dark at night when even one streetlight is out. Plus, trying to avoid each pothole/crater certainly causes you to take your eye off your surroundings.
Lumumba lite should outlaw/ban hoodies....
I thought Belhaven voted to tax themselves so they could build a wall or something?
I thought the new flag was going to stop all of this.
"appeared out of nowhere"
That is a big fat steaming stinking lie.
Less than 10 minutes??? Impressive!
And +1 for @9:07.
Surely some statues somewhere in the city are responsible for this crime
She chose poorly. Jackson at night.
No firearm.
The car was recovered quickly too!
I'm grateful that we don't have these problems in Flowood.
Jackson is a shit hole.
Only the losers on this blog could joke about a crime that could have cost a young woman her life. Pitiful overstates your worth as human beings.
Yes; A roadblock on Jefferson should result in multiple arrests. We all know 15 year old hooded-punks are going to be in a vehicle pulling up to a roadblock. When is the press conference?
Next time, she will exit her car with her new gun in hand while walking twenty feet to the front door of her Belhaven home. It's an unfortunate lesson to have to learn. But, that's what happens when you stick your head in the sand and say "but it couldn't happen to me". Yes it can!
I was raised not to hate. I hate.
@4:52
You got that right! The roadblock is just a warning that the popo are looking for someone, so the perp can jump out of the car or turn around. It's just like the announcement that there will be random drug testing at the office tomorrow.
Apparently none of you have been watching the news for the last year or so. Her white privilege allowed her to own an vehicle they, the poor disenfranchised and oppressed hoodie owners, wanted. She should have handed them the keys with a smile and a simple thank you for not killing her, since her mere existence is racist. She deserved to be held at gunpoint and threatened with her life, and our new President Harris, oh sorry, Biden, is going to make sure everyone who looks like her gives hooded folks like them anything of hers they want because, reasons... You're welcome.
She will move to Rankin or Madison county in short order and the "woke" crowd will blame her and people like her for the demise of Jackson in the name of "white flight".
"Belhaven" or "The Fondren" ?
Which one is more hip ?
Which one is the safest?
A friend is thinking about moving to Jackson from upstate New York and is curious . . . I was asked my opinion, but since have been out of that town for so long, I really couldn't answer.
