Governor Tate Reeves is giving a briefing on Covid-19 right now. The briefing is streamed below.
Governor Reeves also stated on Facebook:
The plan, for weeks, had been to fully reopen by July 1. That’s not happening. Our re-opening is paused, and we’re considering what we need to do going forward. That was not an easy call. I see the cost these measures carry. But things are getting worse, not better.
* Governor says C19 cases are rising fast in Mississippi. He said "Our healthcare system is at risk."
*The rules are "not too loose," but the people are not following even "the simplest rules."
* Dr. Dobbs said the largest increase is in the 20-20 age group.

Tater seems to be begging the citizens to take this seriously and keeps saying it’s not a hoax. Must be frustrating that his own base are ignoring him as fake news.
Are the 20 year old being hospitalized?
Thank God we wasted a week on the flag. It's not like there's a need to do something. SMH.
Maybe the Simpleton could simply wear a mask and lead by example.

Are you daft?! YES!
@2:57: Please provide evidence that the increase in hospitalizations is due to 20 year olds.
@2:46 are you sure, or are you just assuming because you got a medical degree from Facebook?
2:46 Yes, they are. But a larger concern is what happens when they spread it to their parents, grandparents, co-workers, etc. who are older and at a higher risk of complications. In case you missed basic biology back in middle school contagious diseases get transmitted from one person to another.
Dr. Dobbs has never practiced on a actual patient. Nor ever been in hospital working. Please stop listening to him.

There is 7.5 BILLION people in this world and 517,000 deaths? And we have ruined our economy for this? Our healthcare system is NOT at risk.
Our health care system is at risk?
Nurses are having to cut their hours and one large hospital has gone to TV commercials trying to get customers.
How about Tater do as he tells us to do. Where is his mask?
243: most 20 somethings I’ve met are not tater tot base members.
A course your health system is at risk. The legislature has limited competition by the Corrupt CON Law. The Chairman of Health in House Sam Mimms works at Merit Health. Think that isn’t a conflict????
2:57, how do you know? I didn't see any indication of that.
Hmm it's almost like what we're doing IS NOT WORKING and we need more than a just "please do this." If only there were a way to require things like masks and limited gatherings of people. If only.
Actually 2:57 - not really much at all.
According to MS Dept Health data today, there have only been 177 hospitalizations of people 0 - 29 years old through yesterday.
As in since this started over 3 months ago, only 177 people 0-29 yrs old have been hospitalized, out of 8,058 positive cases for the same age group.
And out of those there have been 7 deaths (ZERO deaths under 18)
people over 65 interact with people 20-29... well we now know the cost of the covid drug. hope y’all can afford it
Did he address the CDCs newest revelation that the test tests for ANY coronavirus and not specifically COVID19? Therefore increasing positives while the death rate trickles up?
5:51 The COVID drug that helps shorten a hospital stay but ultimately reduces the mortality rate by only about 20%. That's better than nothing, but I'm still not depending on it to save my life.
2:54, obviously you are blind to what you don't want to see.
Go to the beginning of the conference - Tater is wearing a mask, as is Dr. Dobbs. Didn't notice about the MEMA guy.
During the conference - when he is several feet away from anybody - he takes it off to be able to answer the "public's" (represented of course by the self-ordained media folks) questions of the day.
But yes - he was leading by example.
What do you want to bitch about now that your last one failed?
@3:21
Dr. Dobbs is an epidemiologist - they don't practice medicine on patients; they deal with s**t like this.
Yes, listen to him, not social media experts like you that have not only never practiced medicine on a patient, but never even drove through the parking lot of a school where medicine was discussed in Biology classes.
Thanks for your advice. Next time give a better reason, along with some relevant supporting ideas, for your idiotic suggestions.
3:46 --
see response to 2:54.
Then, go back to when the three of them enter into the room.
Then come back and bitch about something else.
Thanks - your thoughts have been 'properly' noted.
Tate, if true this is on you, you chubby-wubby.
Could have spent time addressing this “emergency” instead of fooling around with the state flag, which as killed NOBODY.
Dope.
" Tater seems to be begging the citizens to take this seriously and keeps saying it’s not a hoax. Must be frustrating that his own base are ignoring him as fake news."
Spot on 2:43.
However, Tate never really has had a true "base".
But after last weekend, he did loose a lot of votes.
Contrary to what the local media yaps about, not everyone feels warm and fuzzy about the way the flag issue was handled.
That applies to many others in the State Capitol as well.
The health system is more in danger of complications of obesity, including with Covid-19. I was in Sam's (with a mask on) and 90% of the people there were morbidly obese.
It's really difficult yo take him seriously..he changed his mind on the flag and doesn't even wear a mask like he asked everyone too. It's like telling my girlfriend, sorry honey, the condom was in my pocket.

When you lose credibility on one issue, you lose credibility on all issues. Since Tate has proven that his word can't be trusted, I doubt anyone will listen to him about Covid or much of anything else.
I can assure you Dr Dobbs has considerable experience treating patients. He founded the South Central Hospitalist program in 2001, has worked at numerous hospitals and clinics in AL and MS including South Central, St Ds, and Hattiesburg Family Health Center. He has spent more time in private practice than public service. He continues to treat TB patients even during the pandemic response. TDobbs
Tate: It's OK that '...out reopening is paused.' Our entire state government was 'paused' while you flew out of the country to attend soccer games and exposed you family and trooper escorts to Wuhan.
8:41 Last time I checked you can't get diabeetus or heart blockages from talking to an obese person.
