JPD issued the following statement.
Jackson Police have made an arrest in a shooting
investigation. Police have charged 17-year-old, Curtis Sawyer, with
aggravated assault.
The incident originally occurred at residence
located in the 6000 block of Lake Trace Circle on August 1, 2019.
Officers were called to what was initially reported as a burglary.
Officers were told that a male intruder had been shot
while entering the home, but was later informed that the victim was
someone known to the residents and that the shooting was accidental.
Further investigation revealed that the victim was
well known to the residents of the home and had been there for some
time. The 18-year-old male victim and Sawyer were interacting just
minutes before the shooting occurred. The victim
suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to an area
hospital where he currently remains, in stable condition.

It was so obvious from the beginning that there was more to the story. Even I could see from the news story that all the pieces didn't fit. Of course, that had nothing to do with poor reporting. Hire me, JPD!
I have always been amazed and impressed by the ability of JPD to quickly get arrests when investigating crime in the Bold New City -- especially as understaffed as they are. I guess it helps when some of them are so easy to solve.
Is this the one where the guy was shot off a ladder climbing into a house and claimed he had a right to be there? Or is this another incident with unbelievable case-facts in the Bold City?
"I have always been amazed and impressed by the ability of JPD to quickly get arrests when investigating crime..."
No you haven't. Why are you even posting that bullshit?
