They're not calling it a homicide yet. "Death investigation" is different.
It's Cemetery.
It is probably just a permanent democrat resident sneaking out to vote.
Maybe due to the rain.
It sickens me to see what has happened to Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
Most readers of this blog have no clue about the historical significance of this land.
It's second only to Greenwood Cemetery in history of Jackson, Mississippi.
A section of this cemetery is officially part of the Netherlands.
There are more than a few Dutch pilots buried in Cedar Lawn . . . these men died during training flights during World War Two.
But again.
I also doubt that most readers are aware that Hawkins Field was home to the Royal Netherlands Military Flight School during the early days of WW II.
Every year on Memorial Day, a Military Delegation from the Royal Netherlands Embassy sends a group to Cedar Lawn to remember these men.
It's bad enough they have to drive down the goat trail that's West Capitol Street . . . just to get to their pilots graves.
Is it asking too much of the City of Jackson to at least keep the grass cut . . and perhaps break out a weed-eater a few times per Spring & Summer ?
Dutch pilots aside, this might not be a homicide. Just because somebody is found in the street riddled with bullet holes is no reason to jump to 'confusions'. It could be a slip and fall.
Twelve bullet holes in the back. This is one of the worst cases of suicide in Jacktown's history.
Hand salute to the Dutch pilots.
Cedar Lawn cemetery maintenance is a disgrace. I have a number of relatives who are buried there and the last time I was there the place looked more like a pasture in need of bush hogging than a perpetual care cemetery. The area around it,(which is the neighborhood where I grew up) is so dangerous (frequent shootings, bodies in the street, etc.) that on the rare occasions that I Go there I go heavily armed.
Ok, go ahead with your rants and racism howls but know this, I will protect myself.
Can volunteers from the community do what the city employees refuse to do and takencare of the grounds of the cemetery?
dang fine police work, 'appeared to be gunshot wounds'. who writes this stuff?
@8:01 AM - press information officers in LE agencies are mostly female sworn officers who can't cut in on the street, i.e. too small, too weak, too scared, or all of the above. Occasionally a male member will fit this same profile, but it's mostly women. Yea, the truth hurts.
Because they are usually minorities, no one will fail them during probation, but no one wants to work with them. So, they end up in jobs like PIOs, and similar positions, which is a huge waste of money because the PIO does not need to be a sworn trained officer with a patrol car to take home, and all of the rest.
Because they are usually sworn officers, their background is not in grammar, etc.
"Can volunteers from the community do what the city employees refuse to do and takencare of the grounds of the cemetery?"
If you're willing to take the risk of ending up there permanently yourself!
All female?

Heath Hall is employed by Madison S.O.? Boy, this is going to be a ball-breaking story? As you might know, Hall is the guy who was hired and fired by Trump's Transportation for lying about his PR contract with Randy Tucker. He's managed to finagle a contract with Tucker for doing nothing and now the Madison BOS has contracted with him to do nothing, thanks to Gerald Steen.
Hall is far from being a 'sworn officer' although he was fired for lying when he SWORE about his home-based-business being dormant.
I'm glad he is on Kingfish's 'snitch list' though.
Greenwood Cemetery has a long-time active volunteer effort: http://www.greenwoodcemeteryjackson.org. I don't believe it receives much, if ny, assistance from the city.
