So sad - I went to school at LSU with Funes. Nice guy. You never know I guess. But to embezzle when your salary is around $300,000 says something about your greed.
I googled him. The guy looks like Ralph Malph after about 200 beers and a whole lotta Krispy Kremes.
A beat reporter who writes a story consisting of 22 two-sentence paragraphs containing remarks gleaned from the hospital press release is not 'a star reporter'. She gathered no information on her own, investigated nothing and broke no news.
And, yes, the guy looks to have spent a lot of time at the food table in many fundraising events.
What's the difference in him and the man and his daughter who ran the Greenville burn center for years and pocketed untold thousands and were both convicted. This is what makes many of us hesitant to give a nickle to charity or fundraisers.
According to the article the dude was making $350,000/year. In Baton Rouge. And he STILL wanted more.
The guy is a thug. He's scum. Stealing from a religious organization that paid him better than 99.9% of the residents in his town. Pitiful.
Don't be surprised. We just learned my step-uncle embezzled my late grandfather's estate, now we'll file suit in Texas. His wife and daughter apparently are unaware of his deeds. My aunt makes probably $150K, drives a 5 Series while my uncle drives a Benz SUV while unemployed, years later from the oil industry in management. Money makes people cray....
12:26 Give to the Salvation Army. They do great work. The SA employees make peanuts and are genuine. No doubt, someone will post a claim of some high salary for an SA employee. Every SA salary I've ever seen was low, and for husband and wife combined.
When I don't know where to give, I give to the Salvation Army.
Good thing they cleaned this up before the take over St. Dominic.
3:48 - You think Sister Dorethea has been eatin' beans and rice all these years?
The good employees at St. D. are besides themselves and sent out resumes after OLOL informed them that all St. D. employees are on 12-month probation.
Never heard such a thing in my life!
11:51 - Sounds like a few past governors who got State Personnel Board protections jerked from agencies.
