JPD issued the following statements.
(#1) Jackson Police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting that occurred on Bullard Avenue at the Super 7 Gas.
After surrendering himself to police, 33-year-old, Antonio Jackson, was originally arrested and charged with aggravated assault the day following the shooting. His charges will now be upgraded to murder after the death of victim, Delwin Wells.
(#2) Jackson Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at the Super 7 Gas located in the 4500 of Bullard Street.

The incident happened just after 10:00pm this past Tuesday, July 17. Officers responded to a shooting call at the location where they found a black male lying on the ground, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers later learned that the victim had driven into the parking lot just minutes prior. After stopping near another vehicle, shots were fired from that vehicle at the victim as he exited. The suspect vehicle then fled the lot.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and following surgery, was listed in critical but stable condition. Today, police learned that he has since died from his injuries.
The victim is identified as 28-year-old, Delwin Wells.
The individuals responsible for this crime still remain unidentified. The vehicle involved is believed to be white sedan that was occupied by at least two individuals.
